Fear, you’re not welcome here!

365…that’s the number of times “Do not be afraid/fear not” are mentioned in the Bible. There are also 365 days in a year, coincidence? I think not.
Every. Single. Day. we face a fear. Our little one gets hurt. We have to speak in front of a group. We quit a job. We start a new job. We post a picture or video of ourselves. We show up to a workout class. The list goes on and on and on.
2,002 days ago, I signed up for Color Street, a direct sales company. My instant fear was “what will people think of me being a part of one of “those” types of companies?!?” “What if I fail?” “What if…what if…what if…” Pretty sure I had a whole years worth of fears in that first month of business. But if I only have one takeaway from my time in this business, it would be: “Fear, you’re not welcome here!”
When I started going to our church 2 years ago, it was in the middle of chaos; lost friendships our son’s medical diagnosis, constant battles within society, etc. I instantly felt relief going through those double doors. Attending each week gave me comfort when fears would arise. I was never alone.
2 years later and I have new (healthy) friendships. Emerson’s diagnosis isn’t as scary. Battles in society are cut and dry…either I believe one way or I don’t, and that’s to please God and not the opposer.
What I was so fearful to start 2,002 days ago (my CS business), is one of the things I am most thankful for because it has given me a platform to share my experiences without being fearful of what others will think. It has allowed me to help others becomes successful in their business journeys. It has allowed me to show others how walking through our church doors changed my trajectory in life. It has allowed me to lead with light, kindness and servant leadership.
