Actually, labor laws exist. Factories Act of 1949, section 59 (1) & (2) is very clear on over-time. If Gopal is earning 450 Rs on normal hours, he is to be compensated Rs 900 per hour for Over time he spends. These companies keep paying Rs 25,000 monthly salary and get away with it. I want to point out the hypocrisy of the view. The real issue is wages of labour. Note that He wants existing employees to work 90 hours a week for the same salary. He does not want to increase wages or hire more employees which he could have done if he wanted more work done per year. This benefits only CEOs and capitalist shareholders at the expense of workers. He either has no understanding of the aspirations and struggles of people or wilfully disregards them. The company's statement about it being for making the country developed is a total sham and deliberate misdirection. Such statements are very detrimental to corporate culture.

Why is only this aspect of China talked about so much. China didn't become number one just by working 90 hours a week. There are a lot many factors as well.

For paying 534 times employee's median salary what contribution he is creating for the company? Most of the executives in MNCs are really over paid. While many employees are under paid. Salary of the executives must be limited to 1$. Based on their contribution only they need to be paid. Not only for MNC executives but for the MLAs and MPs too.
Give employees 40000rs per month salary starting from the lowest level eg cleaners and gardeners . And 70000rs for it and office staff .. and 3lakh for engineers.. with Free health cards bonuse and over time pay..

This is also a routine for a CEO of my company too . L& T CEO Is Greedy and unsatisfied. Once he will have money , he wont know how to spend the Quality time with his family , friends and even with self too. This kind of Greedy culture will destroy the social fabric of India too. There is a simple answer to this 90 hour need.
Hire twice the number of employees, one set works 45 hours, the second 45 hours with 5 hours of overlap.
1. Comparing the life in communist country with that of democratic country is not fair.
2. India needs more productivity this is undeniable , many people are unemployed and taking dunki routes by taking huge life risk. Local employment fairs seems big chaos, why don’t industry address this issue, if they are not they can be trained.
3. Are you doing everything to develop India sustainability or importing at low cost from neighboring countries and showing good financial performance and make share prices skyrocket.
