I am a Hindu and this feels hella familiar, whenever someone dies in a hindu household.. there's a ritual called "Garud Puran" where a priest reads out one of hindu scripture about Afterlife (Hell and heaven) and rebirth of soul into new body. Few months ago, I lost my grandfather and I am 100% sure that this is what priest explained to us in one of verse during Garud Puran.
And still crimes are high despite knowing about hell. The reason is the mentality of Indians. You people think just being vegan washes off all your sins and you are free to do bad work while a non vegetarian, who even if is a good person and eats non veg only for food and never kills any creature for fun and money is still a evil person and deserves hell.
