They're just completely different movies there's no comparison. While Verhoeven's original centers more on social issues and is full satirical, Padilha's remake focuses more on what means to be human and it is more dramatic.
80's Robocop is a masterpiece, but for my own personal taste, I prefer the remake.

It’s Robocop his name was Murphy. And why he wanted doc to kill him was because he found out who he use to be, and went located his ex-wife (who was remarried) and he had a son. So doc wouldnt kill him so he went to an electric power grid and electrocuted himself…. But the docs saved him again.
FYI I’m referring to the original Robocop. Maybe it’s because I was kid growing up in 80’s but too me that movie was awesome

Robocop, one of the greatest films ever made in the industry. It is an emotional roller coaster with such bedazzling and very iconic-like action scenes. 10/10 would recommend 👍

The filmmakers either didn't know or didn't care that a hand won't work that way. Most of the muscles that drive it are up in the forearm. Wiggle your fingers and you can see the tendons in your wrist pulling them (unless you're quite fat). Without the forearm, a hand is just a cable-controlled mechanism without its cables and motors.

I remember watching the original film in England, the cinema was half full in the middle of the day. Every one was eating junk food and into the story, when he was getting blown to bits (pretty gory) all of a sudden its deathly quiet (stopped eating) and then different ones were running out vomiting. Sobered up the audience real fast lol.😂

Wow! That shows how much science has evolved. Being able to save a police officer and place him back to the line of duty is incredible. I commend the doctors who were able to save his life, and the people who managed to create such an extensive prosthetic for him. I hope they do the same for the military.
