Watching the drone shots makes me feel like I’m watching a little kid, playing with his toys in the dirt. That’s an incredible amount of topsoil to move, can’t imagine doing this without Bobby! Your acreage is going to be gorgeous in a few years and will only get better over time thanks to your hard work now!
The man's work ethic is second to none. I hope by following this channel and the detail geek channel I can help to impart some of his hardworking mindset into my son. 🤩
YOu should build an underground cistern to collected as many water as the sisters can colleced. if it goes super hot in the summer you have enough water to give it to the trees don't dry up and get killed. Nice video by the way thx
My parents planted evergreens on berms to create privacy and 17 years later the trees are nicely blocking the neighbors houses so there’s no one watching you when we are out on their big wraparound porch! Lots of mulch and water pays off. Your videos are fun to watch all the progress you are making and can’t wait to see the final results!!💜💜💜
So refreshing to see you had additional help with that other Bob Cat in the yard taking care of the mulch for you. Your hard work will pay off for you to enjoy! 🎉
Absolutely fantastic to see you working your ground love your planting ideas and I must say that bobcat is definitely coming in handy. Eva from Scotland 👍🏼
That looks great! It seems that the saying "Boys never grow up, only their toys get more expensive." is quite true, haha. I enjoyed every second of the video. Thanks for that!
I'm so impressed with the progress Yard Geek has made on their yard! I can't wait to see the next video showcasing the beautiful garden. The hard work is really paying off, and the results are absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing. Have an awesome day! Happy Fall! 🍂🍁🌻😊🙌❤️
Impressive, but not to be an expert in fields of fields or land, you are doing a spectacular work, since it really looks very clear that it is an oasis, a paradise for its beauty of a well distributed and chosen nature. I follow you years ago in all your channels and I sent you a warm hug from Buenos Aires, Argentina ...
Miles of mulch might be a good label for this video. That was a lot of moving of mulch, soil and rocks. It is great that some of that mulch is coming free. Love the drone shots that show the progress and scope of these changes. You really have become quite adept at driving that machine and making it work with precision. Digging with the auger is fun to watch. That monster can create a hole for a tree in no time. As a kid we used a shovel and were exhausted from the planting just a few trees or fenceposts. I am so glad the eco buffer is growing and doing well. We knew there would be some casualties or trees that would suffer some winter burn. Is that your dad in the 2nd bobby or one of your buddies? Asking for a friend. This was a great update Mitch, have a restful weekend. 💜💜💜💜💜💜
Haha, it really will be once I do get everything mulched…..it’s gonna be an enormous amount! Wouldn’t trade my auger for a shovel any day, it’s worth its weight in gold! It was a buddy in the other bobcat (Bobby had a friend over to play 😅). Glad you enjoyed it Joel! I’ll do my best to get you guys more videos soon!!
When placing your larger boulders remember to leave enough room for a riding mower to get between, otherwise you’ll do a lot of trimmer work. Ask me how I know ha.
I really enjoy seeing you do all this hands on stuff. Especially knowing way back when you were (or maybe still are) a CPA as well. Your process with everything is astounding
You are really a great man for the details, and for putting in good foundations and preparing for the future. Doing things well from the beginning makes everything work so much better for the entire lifetime. Well done, Geek!
Long days of work I imagine but learning curves are great. Good thing that you get along with the neighbours & can help each other. I would not feel confortable with a homestead that flat or low level... We're having more & more severe downpours & "wet season" here too in 🇫🇷 & I like my safety margins. Thanks for sharing & being an inspiration.
Love the yard geek...i can't garden where i am now...Vegas... so thanks for letting me live my landscaping dreams through your videos! It's looking amazing!
The peninsula is looking great! Would french drains be practical for runoff where you are? You can tip the drivers really well for free mulch. Everyone comes out ahead. Thanks for the update and video.
Using wood chips are going to save you a ton of money!!! Just remember, though, that if you choose to use raw (i.e., uncomposted) mulch, it will draw a ton of nutrients from your soil during the composting period. Thus, where ever you put that mulch down, remember to feed that area well (10-10-10 should be sufficient) when you put it down.
Might be worth tossing a camera up on a pole pointing at the yard (an outdoor / protected one) so you can take pictures / do time lapses. Might help give you footage you can intersperse with the voice overs - and not require you to worry about filming as well.
Great channel. Hey, you could consider placing a narrow (2 ft wide) gully between the eco-buffer and the house. Maybe where the temporary fencing is, to ensure the excess water is right where it ought to be. And then as a plus, the extra earth that you acquire from the gully can be used for whatever you want... just a thought
Mitch, i cant wait too see your property finished, its going to look epic! My Son n Daughter in Law visited Canada in August, my daughter in Law has family in Edmonton,, they stayed there a week. Then stayed in Calgary for a week. The photos they got, oh my days! The scenery was amazing. They loved it. Your going to deffo need tons of mulch. Do you have a compost heap? That will help your plants and trees.😊
You gonna add gravel to help the water drain better? Looks like all the houses in your neighborhood should've been built on a mound so when sow melts it won't flood so much. Your haven looks like it will be heaven once you are done! Alot of work but well worth it! Bobby sure does work hard! 👍👍
I was planting trees with an auger on a standing digger unit. I found to dig a wider hole i just went deeper with the 18" then dug the sides into the bottom of the hole
Great job! You obviously put so much planning and thought into your acreage. Good for you! I know it's a wait between videos, but that's OK. I appreciate them all the more. I'm surprised that you got Mike to help out. Did you bribe him with Timbits? Keep up the good work!
Hey Mitch ! French viewer here . Your videos are SOOOO satisfying to watch, on both channels 👍 ! Just wondering, since you're not in Quebec, do you get mandatory French classes in school ? I'm actually just wondering if you speak a bit of French or not... 😊 Love the vide, keep it going ! Cheers !!! 💪
Gate City Foundation would have been the best guys to have your water problem sorted out pronto. Watch Shawn's videos under the same name. That guy and his team are guinuesses in solving water drainage problems.
Are you going to use anything to stabilize the soil on the hill. Gravity will pull everything it can down the slope as soon as it rains and when the next snows melt. Adding a few stones or low wooden posts with mesh should help prevent that happening too fast. Eventually ground cover planting will help stabilize the soil movement but don't be surprised if your 2 foot high hill becomes a 1 foot hill unless the soil has something to retain it.
Thank you! I can’t wait for everything to be done so I can sit back and appreciate it all, but all in good time 😄
The amount of dedication to camera angles and overhead shots etc is definitely noticed! Love your videos!
Thank you!
Mitch…your work is perfection regardless of what task you’re doing. I am so impressed by your work ethic. You are a great role model!!!
Wow, thank you!
It is impressive that you level everything by eye that is a lost art form
This is one my favourite channels. The progress is amazing.
Awesome!

Appreciate the kind words!

I just love that you are so detail orientated. I find myself smiling when I notice that you have this perfect picture of where everything is located.
Ok, Mitch, you got me here. Now that I'm here I have to say, 4:58 had me laughing seeing you "eye" the grade. Classic you
Wow, I can envision that eco buffer in the future. That is going to be beautiful and great privacy. Great choice of tree species as well!
That’s what I’m hoping!! Thanks! 😊

Thank you! 😊
I’m convinced this man never sleeps.
I do, but not enough 😄
How could he😂?
I am watching it now after The Detail Geek is finished.😊
So refreshing to see you had additional help with that other Bob Cat in the yard taking care of the mulch for you. Your hard work will pay off for you to enjoy! 🎉
Thank you!
Watching “Bobby” move that boulder so delicately at 21:20 was kinda adorable tbh lol. Like Wall-E going “Ah it’s uneven, gotta fix it! Phew!” 😂
Haha, exactly!
The acreage is really taking shape. Years down the road you'll sit back and enjoy the beautiful of your landscaping.
Yay!!! I was beginning to give up hope for a new episode. This is now OUR yard and I need to know what's going on. LOL Oh, and I love the 'stache!
Wow, what an amazing programme, I’m loving the progress and feel so privileged to be able to watch this - thank you 🙏Jako🙏
Glad you’re enjoying it!
Well worth the wait for episode 6, Thanks for sharing . Wow man you put a shift in. MORE PLEASE!!
More to come!
It is looking beautiful. I can’t wait for the finished product.

Mitch I got a question for you could those big rocks make a barrier from water coming through your yard?
I like Miles of Mulch! When the mulch placement is complete he could even make a playlist of the mulch install videos and call it “Mulch Master” 😂
@@1m-a-n1nja That is a great suggestion. I would watch that playlist.
That ahuge project!!!
Im sooo excited to see the end result one day. I am so happy for you🎉 keep doing great things 🤗

Hey! I’m here after watching your detail video of the Ford Explorer. I didn’t know you had a second channel. So cool 😎
A grass carpet as a cover layer would look great on that hill
Been waiting for this, love these vids. Thought you had disappeared.
