I think Xiaohongshu would do well even if Instagram wasn't banned, but it might've had more trouble growing in the beginning. It's easier to make purchases on Xiaohongshu.

@@lollymanna Yes it is. Xiaohongshu is kinda like a platform for users to show off their luxuries, equisite cuisines and some other unusual stuffs like them. While Chinese users are more likey to share the regular experiences on Weibo or Wechat, which are respectively similar to twitter and facebook.

Personal accounts on Xiaohongshu can publish information related to businesses and are generally not subject to suspension. Xiaohongshu also supports verification for overseas business accounts. If you want your account to appear more official, you can apply to verify a business account. Additionally, personal accounts can be directly upgraded to business accounts.

Hi Chawni, Tait here. Do many of your Chinese clients come from word-of-mouth referrals? If so, you could try asking your recent clients which platforms they use. Then you can encourage them to refer you when they post photos of their trip. That way your clients are helping to do the marketing for you. That's just one idea.

A chinese user wouldn't type out xiaohongshu in latin letters. They would use their own alphabet.

You can't see other people's phone numbers on Xiaohongshu. Also, even if you check your own number, it shows 123***456.
