    Thank you for showing that Singapore is more than MBS and the Merlion! Every travel vlogger is visiting SG this year and they all do the same 5 things. Please continue to show the more unique sides of this country!

      Agreed! I've seen a lot of lazy vlogging in Singapore this year. Everyone does the same thing. Everyone says "I know nothing about Singapore, let's see what it has in store for us." So that's either the laziest vlogging, or laziest way to represent content as opposed to doing your research and showing that to the viewers.

    Your development as a vlogger is on a normal trajectory. Your views of SG are delightful. I spend four years as a child in SG and have the most delightful memories. I returned in 2019 to show my wife and share my memories and delights. I see the joy in your face when you share your SG.. Keep on doing what you are doing. It is developing, it’s working for me.

    Love your vlogs and I actually do see you carving out a niche for yourself amongst foreign Singapore content vloggers (ie Ghib or Georgia Chaney). The slower more relaxed pace of your videos, coupled with the fresh face flushed with enthusiasm and reliving your history living here really sets a beautiful backdrop for your content. 100k in no time I'm certain!

    This video is really a good one! You definitely gave some good tips & advice for people who have never been to SG or only been to the tourist spots of SG.
    Tiong Bahru food market is one of the popular ones among locals & it is nice of you to show what are the iconic places in Tiong Bahru as well.
    Actually if the tourists visiting SG are able to make it a point to visit places that locals go, I am sure it will bring down their trip budget & have as much fun as you. 😉😊

Telling my daughter the stories of me growing up... these 2 areas are very close to my heart.. something about Tiong Bahru and hardly anyone knows.. its the Tiong Bahru Air Raid bomb shelter.. When the Japanese invaded SG and conducted air raids.. my grandma along with other Tiong Bahru Residents took shelter inside...

    Anxiety can be a beast but remember.. it's always been you in front of the camera, whether alone or with Matt, (and we've always enjoyed watching you), it's just now you can fully direct and showcase you which over time will free you and you'll only grow in confidence. I can't wait to see what you'll be doing in a few months time.. but keep at it. You're a natural and have always been.

    The current Tiong Bahru hawker centre has none of the old vibes that existed more than 20 years ago when it was an open air venue, with trees planted randomly amongst the tables. You would see crowds of people tucking into supper late into the night. Nowadays
    the hawker centre is dead after 7pm.

    Hiya! I hope you're fully recovered by now after seeing your Instagram story.
    I love coconut milk, I have been drinking that so much in Mexico, fresh from a real coconut 🥥. We are too enjoying videos becoming your style, Phoebe! That Popiah place looks like home-made live-cooking stations, and I love those. Spicy in Asia is something to use careful. I once said "Spicy is fine" when the waiter asked "do you want regular or spicy chicken?", well that phrase is still following me every time I'm ordering spicy food, as my friend will never forget how red my face was. But hey, the food was delicious 🤷‍♂. Koning Amann looks like a cinnamon role but without the cinnamon 😅.

    quick question: how do you pay for your travels? Do you and Matt have jobs where you work remote or is income sourced entirely through vlogging?

    • @travelforphoebe
      @travelforphoebe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oof that needs a more detailed answer to share all of it haha I’ll keep it brief! No, this is it full time but it’s more than just TH-cam ad revenue. We have multiple income streams spread across what people see publicly and behind the scenes too (tourism boards etc buy content from us and commission us to create for them). Also we don’t pay for everything we do. Sometimes the whole trip is paid for by a brand/tourism board, other times it’s just a hotel stay, flights, activity. Sometimes we pay for it all ourselves. It just depends 😊
