Really wish we hadn’t killed Raszageth, I would’ve liked to see how she fits into the dynamic of the incarnates. She seems to be a mix between Fyrrak and Iridikron. We were robbed of her visage form as well. Vryanoth seems to be the only one that cares that she’s gone, I would’ve liked to see more of their dynamic.
thats not the plot, simply put, its not the story they are trying to tell, bringing this proposal of urs to light would have been a waste of time, money, and would serve no purpose in the story, remember shadowlands

calling it now, they will introduce some quest at some point in Dragonflight where we meet Raszageth’s visage form like they did with Sindragosa. it will obviously be to further the plot in some way. remember this comment.
I still remember when Nobbel was doing the PTR of Dragonflight and saw the top of the building in Valdrakken, where the Dragon leaders are. And already then, from the layout, said that the incarnates would join de dragons. Simply because there was a place for another dragon to stand. Lol

I actually no joke predicted this was going to happen the very second I saw her based on her body language in the cinematic. That and how she was the "odd one out" in 10.1's molten underground theme.
it still blows my mind just how much better every single one of these storybeats is compared to shadowlands. Just seeing what your villains are up to, having an idea of why they do what they do helps so much.
I don't know what to say to you.. it's obvious they butchered the story of shadowlands and the Jailor but to say this garbage is better because it's story is almost completely devoid of any mystery or speculation or anything fun for that matter implies only that y'all who enjoy DF for it's story are either addicted to WoW or just have very bad taste in storytelling. Vyranoth rebels in 1 small patch and now is our friend yay. Great character 0/10 and the theme so far...barely any "warcraft" they might as well just change the title come next expansion. maybe like Allies Of Azeroth or something g**

I don't mind the downscaling of the story and it's interesting...in theory, but I do agree it's not good enough to be memorable like the older expansions. I don't mind that the two factions aren't at war anymore, besides not the first time the two sides aligned against a third party. There's more than one way to wage a war than direct large battles, though I do agree this expansion could be more, a step back in the right direction in areas but still not enough to renew faith in blizzard.

Vyranoth is my favourite character this xpac. She is playing the game right and sees everyone for who they really are. She won't let Azeroth be taken advantage of again I hope.
Had Azeroth in your words "not been taken advantage of" the player characters literally wouldn't exist. Say what you will about the Titans but the entire world even exists because of them, had it not been for them instead of being dominated by the Titans' plan... it would have been dominated by the Old Gods' plan. I'm going to go out on a limb and declare that wouldn't have been better.
I am of the opinion that, when we played as Tyr during the final moments of his life, and he was shown that the aspects all turn on them, which we've obviously seen Neltharion do to become Deathwing, Malygos is dead because he turned on mortal magic users, Ysera was corrupted and killed during Legion, and we knew eventually, we would be dealing with Nozdormu's infinite form, Murozond, but according to Xakazx, Alexstrasza turns on Tyr also. I think she absolutely will turn on Tyr, but not turn on us, because we will be on her side. A lot of this game, and the writers involved with the story seem bent to the idea that freedom is the ultimate virtue. Even the light is proven to be targeted for not being as good as we believe it should be. But freedom never is. There is no such thing as too much freedom.... except when there is, but it's never a function of, say, Garrosh being too free to mine the heart of Y'shaarj right out from under the Alliance's nose in a goblin dig that was but a stone's throw away from their primary hub in Pandaria. Sylvanas having free reign to burn Teldrassil? It's nnever looked at that they could have done the right thing and didn't. On the other hand, Xe'ra trying to force the light upon Illidan, that was a step too far because that would have involved Illidan letting the light become his new compass and ridding himself of the fel. It had occurred to me, what if Illidan went on ahead with Xe'ra's plan and became what she wanted him to be? What would that have looked like? Illidan's eyes may have been returned to him. His demon wings may have been replaced by angelic wings. The kind of relationship that I don't see is the kind that existed between Megatron and Unicron after Megatron was turned into Galvatron circa Transformers the Movie, 1986. Turalyon was lightforged by Xe'ra. He didn't seem to constantly go off the rails with Xe'ra, and attempt to disobey her only to be tortured from beyond to bring him back into line. It's pretty clear, the biggest problem with the light according to the World of Warcraft story team is that the light has certain expectations and duties, and isn't free to just do whatever it wants.
I think you are right. Too much freedom can lead to chaos and the titans are all about order but where does order end and control begins? I like your comparison between transformers and WoW, Megatron once fought for freedom before his lust for power corrupted him and lead to him being that he once sought to destroy. Dragonflight is a really good expansion unlike shadowlands that didnt have this dynamic between characters such as Vyranoth and Alexstrasza.
the story is written by braindead millenials now, whos ultimate virtue is consuming mainstream entertainment relentlessly and doing whatever hedonistic pleasure seeking endeavours possible because its "heckin liberating and freedom" or something. Any duties or responsibilities is antiquated and bad now.
I'm thinking the teams coming at it from a very naturalist, yin yang kind of perspective, that all natural forces are supposed to be in balance. All the natural elements (fire/water/air/earth) as well as the higher elements (chaos/order/life/death/light/darkness) are also all supposed to be in balance. Unfortunately since all of those elements have living things in them, all of those living things are devoted to their sides being the only thing they care about expanding, causing them to come out of balance with each other. But yeah the choices of the mortals will be the main thing at the end that matters to them I think. As you pointed out though, just having choice is an ultimate thing in and of itself isn't necessarily great either if you're just going to be a piece of crap to everyone else. I've seen this kind of "objectivist writing" before. At the end of the day it's a very naive philosophy as far as I'm concerned.
given her genuine sorrow in the Return to Forbidden Reach cinematic, it is clearly she always had a lot more depth and sincerity about her cause.. Fyrakk was always as batshit crazy and malicious as she speaks here, never ever wanting something constrcutive. And Alex told us during this campaign that Iridikron was so desperate to win their ancient war that he had already turned to the Shadow/Void, attempting to gain power to overcome the Titans's forces. He simply didnt have time to complete his plans before Neltharion overcame and imprisoned him. Raszageth herself was a bit obsessive also.. It seems Vyranoth was the only one with a constructive outlook after being freed. Considering her ancient bond with Alex, this does actually make some sense.
I think one more line would have convinced me it's not too early for her to change sides. It would be alexstra saying " I will not let you or dragons down again even if I have to fight the Titian's with you"
I think the execution of this storyline has been done rather poorly. Vyranoth views Fyrrak as "her brother no more" after, what? Becoming a little more unhinged than usual and corrupting a keeper of the grove? But oh sure, Alexstrasza, The one who knew your eggs would be corrupted but did nothing, gaslit you, locked you away for thousands of years when you refused to think like her, has killed thousands more of your children in this conflict AND killed your sister Raszageth!? Smells like shite to me. I think this whole thing would be a lot better if Vyranoth's perspective was more like "I haven't forgiven you for what you've done, but my brother is being consumed by void energy. If what you say is true, and you really are sorry for what you've done, than start by helping me save my brother" instead of just "Oh yeah go ahead and kill him lol" Also Fyrrak would make a really great Firelord please don't kill him Blizzard :(
Agreed, wish she actually did something rather than just saying "I'm sorry" while we the players go around fixing her problems by ourselves. Makes these monumental lore characters feel insignificant. It was badass fighting alongside the dragon aspects in Dragon Soul even if that raid was a load of shite.

I have a question: Why are the dragons doing this (new world tree) for the Night Elves exactly? Originally it was a reward for defending Azeroth in the war of the ancients (the Tauren that fought got none of this reward but whatev). The dragons didn't even show up for the Legion's return in Warcraft 3 or Legion. Why didn't they reward everyone who defended the planet in their absence, or the ones who fought against Deathwing? Is it just favoritism that they show the Night Elves?
To be fair the original World Tree, Nordrassil in Hyjal, was more a result of Illidan attempting to create a new Well of Eternity and the dragons essentially giving the druids, which were primarily night elves at the time, the responsibility of safe guarding that font of magic. In short I think it was less "favoritism" and more a "responsibility" so to speak.
How many Tauren cities got ravaged in the War of the Ancient? How many innocent Tauren were slaugthered by the demons? What Tauren empire got completely destroyed as a result? None? Then I guess that asnwers your question as to why the Night Elves got rewarded.
I really liked the story up until 10.1.7. I don’t think it’s bad or anything, but the sudden 180 Vyranoth did was really, really jarring. It sorta took me out of the experience when she showed up in Valdrakken. In the first cutscene she literally says the only thing left for her is vengeance. She is simply NOT willing to put the past aside. Then she has 2 confrontational conversations with Fyrakk and suddenly she turns her back on someone she calls a brother and runs to Valdrakken to betray him. It doesn’t feel justified. To me the correct way forward to bring Vyranoth to our side is super obvious, and it would leave her values and motivations intact. Fyrakk is tired of trying to find ways in the Dream, so he pulls a card from the Titan’s playbook. He’s going to infuse green dragon eggs with shadowflame, he’ll turn the protectors of the dream into the perfect weapon to get past all the defenses that we can muster. Just like the Titans. Vyranoth confronts him, tries to reason with him, and the thing plays out similarly to what we have now. Vyranoth is the one who feels betrayed, she tries to stop Fyrakk but is just no match for him now that he’s cracked out on shadowflame. As her last resort, and only out of desire to save the eggs, she comes to us and tells us what is happening. We are not friends, we are the lesser of 2 evils to her. We will probably never be friends, but at least we can be allies. Vyranoth gets her redemption, and she doesn’t sacrifice her convictions at the drop of a hat. Her motivation for changing sides is obvious, with Fyrakk and Iridikron changing the rules of the game coming to us is the obvious LOGICAL choice. Oh well
Honestly, I tried to get into the DF story, but I just can't. I do not care about any of the characters involved or the overall theme of the story. It is good to see some people enjoy it however, but it is not for me. Kind of wish WoW somehow went back to the more gritty worldbuilding and storytelling that it used to have. Nowadays it kinda feels more like a kids TV show I would have watched on Cartoon Network back in the day or something.
this was too easy to clock. the second they showed this form, it shared too much of a similarity with Winter Queen which was a “fan fave” so naturally they’d milk it. just another character introduced that we will ultimately never care about again. what we need to see is more story development for already established NPCs in lore like Korialstrasz, prime consort (husband) to Alexstrasza.
Didn’t he die at Theramore or smth? Pretty sure he died and she was depressed about it. But I agree with your point about we’re never going to even see Vyranoth again after this expac.
@@RealJuiceWrld yes very true he did, but I was thinking the bronze aspects could help us go to a timeline where he was alive & carve out his story a bit.. & we’ve proven that the planes between life / death are sometimes blurred in game so he could be an image or vision. maybe we find out he was researching flights like the Netherwing.. if they have an “aspect like” leader or whatever haha. maybe even expand on the black liquid he used on the arrow to kill the Manta, a creature that was said to be 10x the size & strength of a dragon. but tbh Shadowlands really gutted much of the lore for me. it’s gonna take something so damn iconic for me to *really* get back into ya feel

Started after I heard some speculation during WoD the next xpac would be infinite dragons (ofc not true). then in slands it was reinvigorated because of the time dilation stuff, iirc in a book or smth the dark rider that gives DKs their freebie mount lives in the shadowlands and he said something like it had only been a few days since he last spoke to the DK even tho all the xpacs from wotlk up to slands had taken place. I thought maybe we come back from slands and the old gods had taken over or the infinite dragonflight would mess up time on our way back from the shadowlands back to azeroth. they just really watered down and pissed all over how intriguing dragons used to be with dflight tho.
I really hope she is trying to trick us and ends up stabbing us in the back, but based on everything data mind and stuff i don't think that's going to happen...

This would be a shocking and compelling development if I had any clue who she was and/or had any reason to care. I don't play WoW for the story, and haven't for years. Every video and post I see about people saying what the lore should be makes me glad Blizzard doesn't listen to such.

That's not forgiving or forgetting, that's her deciding whatever grudge she still has against Alextrasza, her side is the right one, at least for now. The enemy of your enemy is your friend, at least temporarily.
i think they didnt cook it for longer than this f or some simple reasons: community complaint in shadowlands, WE ASKED for clearer more direct characters, this was what the community wanted to see, so i think this one comes out like this because of possible backlash, yes it could use some cooking, but it doesnt matter, it has become clear and the cutscenes did an excelent job at building up her "brother and sister disagreement" that led to this, so honestly it feels fine, not making a TOO big of a deal out of it was good
I'm sorry I have to say this... but the story of this expansion is just not that good. The quality of the story is the same as in Shadowlands, but there's way way way less story. There's barely any story so people either don't notice how bad it is, or have just stopped caring after Shadowlands... I mean I get that DF hasn't been a success for Blizzard at all, so they wanna wrap it as soon as possible and move on, but still there was enough time for a satisfying story... this is just low quality writing. Imo, the main problem with the story isn't that it's ling without an end, that they're reusing characters all over again (e.g Tyrande)... I think the harsh truth that needs to be said is that the current writing team just isn't that good and that's the main problem of the story, and one of the reasons for the game's rapid decline in popularity.
I just can not get into this story what so ever, it's so bland. unless she is going to turn out to be a double agent that would actually be cool twist that shows just being over emotional isn't a good idea unlike half this expansion so far.

There is no such thing as too much freedom.... except when there is, but it's never a function of, say, Garrosh being too free to mine the heart of Y'shaarj right out from under the Alliance's nose in a goblin dig that was but a stone's throw away from their primary hub in Pandaria. Sylvanas having free reign to burn Teldrassil? It's nnever looked at that they could have done the right thing and didn't. On the other hand, Xe'ra trying to force the light upon Illidan, that was a step too far because that would have involved Illidan letting the light become his new compass and ridding himself of the fel. It had occurred to me, what if Illidan went on ahead with Xe'ra's plan and became what she wanted him to be? What would that have looked like? Illidan's eyes may have been returned to him. His demon wings may have been replaced by angelic wings. The kind of relationship that I don't see is the kind that existed between Megatron and Unicron after Megatron was turned into Galvatron circa Transformers the Movie, 1986. Turalyon was lightforged by Xe'ra. He didn't seem to constantly go off the rails with Xe'ra, and attempt to disobey her only to be tortured from beyond to bring him back into line. It's pretty clear, the biggest problem with the light according to the World of Warcraft story team is that the light has certain expectations and duties, and isn't free to just do whatever it wants.
I think you are right. Too much freedom can lead to chaos and the titans are all about order but where does order end and control begins? I like your comparison between transformers and WoW, Megatron once fought for freedom before his lust for power corrupted him and lead to him being that he once sought to destroy. Dragonflight is a really good expansion unlike shadowlands that didnt have this dynamic between characters such as Vyranoth and Alexstrasza.

the story is written by braindead millenials now, whos ultimate virtue is consuming mainstream entertainment relentlessly and doing whatever hedonistic pleasure seeking endeavours possible because its "heckin liberating and freedom" or something. Any duties or responsibilities is antiquated and bad now.
I'm thinking the teams coming at it from a very naturalist, yin yang kind of perspective, that all natural forces are supposed to be in balance. All the natural elements (fire/water/air/earth) as well as the higher elements (chaos/order/life/death/light/darkness) are also all supposed to be in balance. Unfortunately since all of those elements have living things in them, all of those living things are devoted to their sides being the only thing they care about expanding, causing them to come out of balance with each other. But yeah the choices of the mortals will be the main thing at the end that matters to them I think. As you pointed out though, just having choice is an ultimate thing in and of itself isn't necessarily great either if you're just going to be a piece of crap to everyone else. I've seen this kind of "objectivist writing" before. At the end of the day it's a very naive philosophy as far as I'm concerned.

given her genuine sorrow in the Return to Forbidden Reach cinematic, it is clearly she always had a lot more depth and sincerity about her cause.. Fyrakk was always as batshit crazy and malicious as she speaks here, never ever wanting something constrcutive. And Alex told us during this campaign that Iridikron was so desperate to win their ancient war that he had already turned to the Shadow/Void, attempting to gain power to overcome the Titans's forces. He simply didnt have time to complete his plans before Neltharion overcame and imprisoned him. Raszageth herself was a bit obsessive also.. It seems Vyranoth was the only one with a constructive outlook after being freed. Considering her ancient bond with Alex, this does actually make some sense.

I think the execution of this storyline has been done rather poorly. Vyranoth views Fyrrak as "her brother no more" after, what? Becoming a little more unhinged than usual and corrupting a keeper of the grove? But oh sure, Alexstrasza, The one who knew your eggs would be corrupted but did nothing, gaslit you, locked you away for thousands of years when you refused to think like her, has killed thousands more of your children in this conflict AND killed your sister Raszageth!? Smells like shite to me.
I think this whole thing would be a lot better if Vyranoth's perspective was more like "I haven't forgiven you for what you've done, but my brother is being consumed by void energy. If what you say is true, and you really are sorry for what you've done, than start by helping me save my brother" instead of just "Oh yeah go ahead and kill him lol"

Agreed, wish she actually did something rather than just saying "I'm sorry" while we the players go around fixing her problems by ourselves. Makes these monumental lore characters feel insignificant. It was badass fighting alongside the dragon aspects in Dragon Soul even if that raid was a load of shite.

I have a question: Why are the dragons doing this (new world tree) for the Night Elves exactly? Originally it was a reward for defending Azeroth in the war of the ancients (the Tauren that fought got none of this reward but whatev). The dragons didn't even show up for the Legion's return in Warcraft 3 or Legion. Why didn't they reward everyone who defended the planet in their absence, or the ones who fought against Deathwing? Is it just favoritism that they show the Night Elves?
Hmm fair question regarding the rewards of other races but why they doing this now is their millenia long friendship with the Elves.
To be fair the original World Tree, Nordrassil in Hyjal, was more a result of Illidan attempting to create a new Well of Eternity and the dragons essentially giving the druids, which were primarily night elves at the time, the responsibility of safe guarding that font of magic.
In short I think it was less "favoritism" and more a "responsibility" so to speak.
How many Tauren cities got ravaged in the War of the Ancient? How many innocent Tauren were slaugthered by the demons? What Tauren empire got completely destroyed as a result? None? Then I guess that asnwers your question as to why the Night Elves got rewarded.

I really liked the story up until 10.1.7. I don’t think it’s bad or anything, but the sudden 180 Vyranoth did was really, really jarring. It sorta took me out of the experience when she showed up in Valdrakken.
In the first cutscene she literally says the only thing left for her is vengeance. She is simply NOT willing to put the past aside. Then she has 2 confrontational conversations with Fyrakk and suddenly she turns her back on someone she calls a brother and runs to Valdrakken to betray him. It doesn’t feel justified.
To me the correct way forward to bring Vyranoth to our side is super obvious, and it would leave her values and motivations intact. Fyrakk is tired of trying to find ways in the Dream, so he pulls a card from the Titan’s playbook. He’s going to infuse green dragon eggs with shadowflame, he’ll turn the protectors of the dream into the perfect weapon to get past all the defenses that we can muster. Just like the Titans. Vyranoth confronts him, tries to reason with him, and the thing plays out similarly to what we have now. Vyranoth is the one who feels betrayed, she tries to stop Fyrakk but is just no match for him now that he’s cracked out on shadowflame. As her last resort, and only out of desire to save the eggs, she comes to us and tells us what is happening. We are not friends, we are the lesser of 2 evils to her. We will probably never be friends, but at least we can be allies.
Vyranoth gets her redemption, and she doesn’t sacrifice her convictions at the drop of a hat. Her motivation for changing sides is obvious, with Fyrakk and Iridikron changing the rules of the game coming to us is the obvious LOGICAL choice.

Honestly, I tried to get into the DF story, but I just can't. I do not care about any of the characters involved or the overall theme of the story. It is good to see some people enjoy it however, but it is not for me. Kind of wish WoW somehow went back to the more gritty worldbuilding and storytelling that it used to have. Nowadays it kinda feels more like a kids TV show I would have watched on Cartoon Network back in the day or something.

this was too easy to clock. the second they showed this form, it shared too much of a similarity with Winter Queen which was a “fan fave” so naturally they’d milk it. just another character introduced that we will ultimately never care about again.
what we need to see is more story development for already established NPCs in lore like Korialstrasz, prime consort (husband) to Alexstrasza.
Didn’t he die at Theramore or smth? Pretty sure he died and she was depressed about it. But I agree with your point about we’re never going to even see Vyranoth again after this expac.
@@RealJuiceWrld yes very true he did, but I was thinking the bronze aspects could help us go to a timeline where he was alive & carve out his story a bit.. & we’ve proven that the planes between life / death are sometimes blurred in game so he could be an image or vision. maybe we find out he was researching flights like the Netherwing.. if they have an “aspect like” leader or whatever haha. maybe even expand on the black liquid he used on the arrow to kill the Manta, a creature that was said to be 10x the size & strength of a dragon.
but tbh Shadowlands really gutted much of the lore for me. it’s gonna take something so damn iconic for me to *really* get back into ya feel

Started after I heard some speculation during WoD the next xpac would be infinite dragons (ofc not true). then in slands it was reinvigorated because of the time dilation stuff, iirc in a book or smth the dark rider that gives DKs their freebie mount lives in the shadowlands and he said something like it had only been a few days since he last spoke to the DK even tho all the xpacs from wotlk up to slands had taken place. I thought maybe we come back from slands and the old gods had taken over or the infinite dragonflight would mess up time on our way back from the shadowlands back to azeroth. they just really watered down and pissed all over how intriguing dragons used to be with dflight tho.

@@Astronic The first cutscene of the video is from the previous patch. A quest giver in valdrakken tells you to go check on alex and you see this play out.
This would be a shocking and compelling development if I had any clue who she was and/or had any reason to care. I don't play WoW for the story, and haven't for years. Every video and post I see about people saying what the lore should be makes me glad Blizzard doesn't listen to such.

i think they didnt cook it for longer than this f or some simple reasons: community complaint in shadowlands, WE ASKED for clearer more direct characters, this was what the community wanted to see, so i think this one comes out like this because of possible backlash, yes it could use some cooking, but it doesnt matter, it has become clear and the cutscenes did an excelent job at building up her "brother and sister disagreement" that led to this, so honestly it feels fine, not making a TOO big of a deal out of it was good

I'm sorry I have to say this... but the story of this expansion is just not that good. The quality of the story is the same as in Shadowlands, but there's way way way less story. There's barely any story so people either don't notice how bad it is, or have just stopped caring after Shadowlands... I mean I get that DF hasn't been a success for Blizzard at all, so they wanna wrap it as soon as possible and move on, but still there was enough time for a satisfying story... this is just low quality writing.
Imo, the main problem with the story isn't that it's ling without an end, that they're reusing characters all over again (e.g Tyrande)... I think the harsh truth that needs to be said is that the current writing team just isn't that good and that's the main problem of the story, and one of the reasons for the game's rapid decline in popularity.
Fyrrak is so cringy man it makes me sad they come up with this now..
