You can just use a wet vac to remove the water from the base of the machine without touching the float or the switch but this does not resolve the problem of why the water was at the bottom.The reason why the water is at the bottom must be discovered which can be a leak from any part of the pump assembly. The leak also can be the result of the machine overfilling or dish soap that is used in the sink had gotten into the machine and this causes a mass amount of suds in the dishwasher which will go over the front edge of the tub. The machine is designed to direct the water from the front to the base of the machine. There are many reasons as to why the machine is overfilling, this can be a fill valve that is allowing water into the machine when the machine is not calling for water. The filter may be clogged and is reducing the drainage of the machine or there is debris in the drain sump blocking the exit of the water to the drain pump or your drain line is clogged or maybe the drain pump is bad. Once the water is cleared from the bottom and the filter and sump is cleaned then start the machine and let it fill and start to wash, you can then cancel the cycle and see how the machine drains. If the machine drains ok then things to look for is that the dishwasher was installed level and not tilted forward and that the door is closing and the door seal is ok. There is a possibility that the machine is just overfilling when calling for water due to not knowing just how much water is in the machine.
Thx for posting … interesting idea … Though you have to wonder what sets off the e15 code in the first place. if you have already reset the machine and the error comes back, the problem is probably something else … like a defective water pump.

You need to clean your door seal, so water is not leaking.
