  • Hi and welcome, here we are using the Unusable paper from the 12x12 paper pads. By altering it we can use up even those papers that we had originally written off as disliked, or not suitable for our vintage style projects. Hope you enjoy this video and will join me next time, thanks for watching, and please hit the like button and subscribe to my channel for more crafty fun!!! Tinax

Unbelievable! You have really transformed these papers. They're beautiful now. I own 20 years worth of scrapbook papers that need to be updated. Looks like I have my work cut out for me. Tina, you are really great at helping us save money (that I don't have) and still be a part of the vintage junk journal world. Thanks for all you do.

Oh thank you so much Sharon, like you I have a whole bunch of stuff to use that I have accumulated over the years, and really don’t want to keep buying more stuff, tempting as it can be. Have fun updating your papers x

Thank you for this. It is genius. This is a type of upcycling that is new to me and will save my ugly paper from wasting away in the bottom of the paper caddy.

I'm thrilled about this idea! I've so many 'left-over' ugly pages that I don't want to waste - but you've shown how they can be transformed. Thanks! PS: hang in there with the anxiety - there are lots of us who have this, so it's nice to support each other. Thankfully crafting can be great therapy!

The sound you heard is my jaw dropping. This is brilliant, Tina. I haven’t seen anyone take this beyond simply covering the patterns and overly-bright colors with gesso. I wind up using “ugly” paper as craft mats when I’m gluing or inking. I also cut the sheets up and use them for grocery and to-do lists. I’ve even balled them up and used them as fillers for my homemade holiday gift baskets. My kitty and I have loads of fun with them as I hide her little fuzzy toys under them. I donate quite a bit to my local charity shop, and they sell them very quickly (which goes to show it is simply a matter of taste and the type of projects we each enjoy working on).Thank you for this video. It’s nice to know I can actually start keeping more for actual crafting. ❤️

Sue Turcotte you have some good ideas too! Lol! Especially using them for lists. I am awash with Decorative papers yet I am always scrounging for a piece of scrap paper to write something down ha ha. I sometimes wonder how that’s possible! I’m going to be busy today!!

Don't avoid what makes you anxious because, you're constantly in fight or flight mode and that causes anxiety. You're always looking to avoid something and your wheels are always squealing. I'm just learning and doing this myself. You do beautiful work so, thank you for showing us.

OMG, what beautiful creations you have created from papers that almost look like they’re never gonna have a home, love that bird cage stamp n how you use them so freely without the use of blocks... very ingenious!!! Also I have never seen anyone cut so STRAIGHT with a pair of scissors without a ruler or some sort of straight edge or paper cutter, you amaze me, you really have awesome talent. I will be using your technique when papers don’t suit my projects from now on. Will make them even more handmade!! Thanks so much!
