I know exactly what you mean about more and more people these days. I'm a woman in her 60's, and I'll hold the door for people and not even get any acknowledgement whatsoever, or let someone go ahead of me, no thanks for a little bit of kindness of whatever. It's sad really. But then there are so many good and sweet people out there that it makes up for it and gives you hope, you know? 😊 We can only be responsible for our own actions and keep smiling. Most people will respond to a genuine smile, so I'll keep on smiling. It sure feels better than a frown, so turn than frown upside down! Lol. Love you and your doggie and your videos are great! Keep it up, and it's refreshing to hear your down to earth stories and feelings and philosophies on life. I appreciate it!

Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us. It feels good to know that we aren’t alone in how we feel. There are certain TH-cam channels, and yours is one of them, that really give others a boost in others’ daily lives. So be please remember that your channel, for how long you want to keep doing it, has a purpose for others. Social media most of the time is so negative but it’s a breathe of fresh air to have your channel. Bty, that steak looked awesome!!

It’s very hard to be “real” today, there’s a lot of fake people who seem to be trying to make their lives something it’s not. Your very correct about society, no manners or decency in public. When’s the last time you saw a man hold a door open for a woman and if they do there’s no acknowledgement or thank you. My wife has had doors close in her face because the person just lets the door close behind them without concern there might be someone behind. Our great grandparents would be appalled.

Very heartfelt video this week. I wish more people saw how their actions affect others. I don't particularly agree with the term "fake," though. I'm typically aware of my moods and forewarn my coworkers. My mother agreed with you, though--we watch your videos as a family! 🤣 I think you can rest easy knowing you're never the only one who feels these frustrations. I hope you have a great week ahead with Mason and enjoy your time. 🥰 Oh, and I would smile and turn pink if you held the door open for me. 🤣😂

I think you should call it “Campfire talks with Larry”. Love the stories and personal views of the world you have. I have to agree Brother, it’s hard to be nice to people that aren’t nice back or don’t care at all about anyone but themselves. The world has become a cold place it seems. But then every once in awhile you run into people who are experiencing the same thing and it makes you feel better.

Save up for the things you want and you will enjoy it more and appreciate it. We sold our home a year and a half ago and moved into a fifth wheel and absolutely love it. We have a truck camper for weekends and vacations. Things dont make you happy. But boy My husbamd and I love our life and God. I did it without Him and have no desire to do anything without Him ever again. Im going to pray for you. Be thankful and appreciative with the small things, and you will be happy with anything else that comes your way. I can really tell you appreciate the gifts from your followers. It is so cool!

Thanks for making this video, it means allot to come across actually. I'm 26 and holy moly it's been a ride. Moved to Colorado about 4 years ago, met a girl, even bought a truck with money I didn't have, Went back and forth and got into campers. The final time I went back I had a 94 Lance slide in that I was living out of, went back to her, felt great FOR A COUPLE months, sold it, then I remembered why we didn't work together. Just like you said, I had everything I ever thought I ever wanted and the most Mayberry life anyone could ever ask for, but I still wasn't happy. Finally stopped chasing her, moved back into the back of my truck, and I started learning Whitewater kayaking, was mountain bike riding and working at the same time. Doing THAT gave me everything I've ever wanted since a child and I'm going to chase it as long as I can. I'm in Tucson right now fixing up a side entry,I hope I see ya around!

Thank you Larry, and Mason for yet again another great video. I know and can relate to so much of what you shared. I grew up not worrying about money, so I didn't know how to truly appreciate what it can do for me. I know all too well about living a fake life. When my mother died unexpectedly in 1989, I was only 18 and had just graduated high school. That sent me into, well a life I wish on nobody else until June of 2017. I then spent an intense 2 years of my life finding..me! I've had so much in my life, that I can honestly say I was miserable. I am now the proud owner of a 2015 Jeep Patriot that I use to tow my little DIY 4x8 teardrop camper. I can also put everything I own these days in my vehicle, camper, and my rooftop cargo box. And I've never been happier! I have a very small group of people in my life that I've had the privilege to call family for the last 30 years. I think I might start rambling my thoughts now, so on that note..your videos bring happiness to so many. Thank you...Can't wait to try the root beer potatoes! And yes dryer lint is awesome for startng fires. My family collects it for me, along with all the paper towel/toilet paper rolls. The can also be used in so many ways as fire starters as well. Plus let's in the land fills polluting the planet.

It has a decent burn time which gives the right amount of time for dry wood to ignite.

    WLEL-
I appreciated this video more than you know. I spent my entire childhood, adolescence, and teenage years deeply depressed and very emotionally dysfunctional.
When I got into my late twenties I started seeing a counselor about the depression I had and found out a number of things beginning with the fact that I was very codependent. Abstaining from relationships and working on myself was a difficult process to begin, but once I started and began learning more about myself and the emotional mechanisms that seemed to derail my life and relationships the more I understood how to straighten those out.
The immense relief I felt being able to exert control over my emotional state and deal with depression when it arose made me seek out more and more podcasts, reading material, and self-help approaches.
Jordan Peterson, a Canadian psychologist, once quoted Carl Jung saying that "the best substitute for Psychotherapy was honest moral effort". Once you begin the process and become familiar with it, it is an evolving process for the rest of your life and climbing out of that pit of depression is the best feeling of all!

Brother it's what most people don't want to hear but you are 100% right. The two words I've said more than any others in response to inquiries in my 56 years on this planet was.........IM FINE. It took me 50+ years to realize, it's OK to not be fine, and it's even more ok to make yourself vulnerable and let people know.......I'm not ok right now. That doesn't have to translate to someone being in a life or death situation as far as the gravity of them not being ok.

Thank you. You are not the only one that has gone thru this and your not alone. After time you will realize you don't need anyone or anything to make you happy. Your in control of it all. It sounds like your understanding that. That is the first step to fully powering your life. Set goals and follow thru that's where the power is. Every goal you accomplish will show you your in charge of your own happiness. I wish you a great happy journey.

There's three of us left!! I'll say the point of the video was TRUTH.... oh my goodness, you hit it all right on the nose, my friend. Rick and I have many conversations about the same challenges. It was unbelievable to hear your words, felt like you've been with us in our conversations. Yes, people at this time in society are more rude, uncaring, self centered, greety...etc...etc. It's a "me me" world. There, I said it, sad but true. I agree, it's ok to not like that behavior, cuz it doesn't have to be. We have hearts that try to right the wrong...and that's ok too😊. Stay committed Larry. You know where your rewards will come from.
Love seeing you wear the beanie! I choose that color to match your jacket, great look! Thx for the "shout-out!" You've received lots of fun gifts. Yes, there are still lots of good-hearted people out there. Take care, asta pronto (until then)❤

Hey Larry, thank you so much for your lovely videos, they really are uplifting and cheer me up when life is tough. Life can be hard and folk are definitely turning more rude, entitled and mean but I believe it is because they are unhappy in their lives. I have felt at times since I moved to the States from England down and depressed as there have been numerous people where I live, complete strangers out at just the grocery store, come up and threaten me and insult me just because I have an English accent,I was even attacked back in 2021 in Kroger carpark because a woman hated the English so she had heard me talking at the checkout, followed me to my car and punched me in the face. Folk can be cruel but I know now that they are the problem not me. As long as I have my three dogs,I am happy!❤ Look forward to your next video and love to little Mason,he is such a character!❤🐾

Okay so I have to make a second comment being that I was not expecting the amazing turn your video took and I just want to say I really appreciate it, once you sat down I was humbled by your story and impressed that you so easily shared it with us. I want to thank you sincerely for sharing your perspectives on emotional and mental health and that it's important that we check in with ourselves to make sure we're alright and that we have options to make the adjustments needed to get out of drowning in our own misery. In fact, I am so pleased to hear someone talk about the depth of their experience and feelings about these life circumstances, I am so bored that even some old friends or coworkers can't/won't reach these depths anymore and is probably why I keep to myself so much as I'd rather have quality of time with somebody than quantity. Again, I just really appreciate this video and consider myself lucky to have landed on this one. Okay, I promise, no more comments today!

It opens doors for others to share their experiences, which helps us help each other. Some folks are ok skimming the top and staying shallow in sharing, other types of folks prefer the deeper end of conversation. I find the deeper conversations...more thought provoking... and more likely to teach me more. Keep doing you wholeheartedly.

I was hoping TH-cam would help my situation but it hasn’t. I think my channel just isn’t good enough. It so hard for me because I’m an Empath and can really feel all the negativity from people so deeply. At least your getting better and your TH-cam channel has really picked up. I think you need someone to help you like Kenny Of All Trades did for you. I’m so very glad your happier and I’ll keep working on me Have a great week and thank you for being so honest. Honesty is my #1 quality that I pride myself in. What you see is what you get with me. I wish more people had that honesty and caring for one another. 🤗

First of all, I thought that chapel was gorgeous! I would love to get married there! Second of all, TH-cam Was the hardest thing for me to learn in my entire life! I know it seems dumb to say this, but there is so much to it! You just gotta keep plugging away and making videos! Trust me the first 20 or 30 videos of mine are horrible! in fact, the first handful I ended up deleting because I don’t ever want anybody to see those again 🤣
But I think it’s because TH-cam was so hard is why it changed my life so much for the better! It really just took a lot of me looking in on myself to figure out why people didn’t wanna watch my videos. Eventually, I learned that I just needed to open up And be authentic. The hardest part was trying to figure out who the authentic me really was! There, I just saved you three years at least 🤣
Seriously though I hope that helps. Thank you so much for watching. 🙏

That is some of why so many people are mean or unfriendly. Often I just think, wow they must really hate their life or they must be having a bad time today. Thinking about that lets me shrug off the bad vibes and not let it bring me down to their level of grumpiness. I do wear a cape so that has to count for something lol 😂. I super loved the length of this video, it’s very relaxing to go camping *with* you. You have such a Fan base of people here. Your stories, your Adventures, your sharing your life, your heart is in all of it. To me ,a man is a Real man that is not ashamed to show his tender side. I watch so many videos like yours and will read some of the comments in them that I do watch, and so many people out there thank those who do these kinds of videos. Why? Because at one point or another what each one has or is going through SOMEONE out there is needing to hear something positive like what you have shared. You are a Very humble man with a warm heart. You are on a mission to find out exactly who you are, where you want to be or not be, you some what know but yet you are still looking. You know that there is more to life than what you had been living. You, Sir, are doing what you are supposed to be doing. You may think people don't care about whatever, and that is truth in what you said. But you also have those of us who do care and enjoy the content you video. Be yourself, just be who Larry is. So many people think they have to be fake and hide their real self in order to become popular. Not so. You have a Great sense of humor, you have a Great humbleness to you and as I said not many men are bold enough to "rip the band aid" off. Don't hide behind the fake society, stay strong, keep doing what you are doing as long as you can stand to do it. Be thankful for what you have, so what if others are sour and not happy with what they have or jealous of what you and Mason are doing. People are looking for that one positive person who has the right message they need to hear. We all (fans) love you and are glad you are here.

I , like you can't stand for people being fake. It gets them nowhere with me. A friend of mine is a former over the road trucker. She likes to seems tough, talks like the truckers do, but when it comes to some of the things she would tell me about some of the people and her dog. Don't think I didn't hesitate to call her out on it. She is 67 yrs old and I know she needs to have some excitement in her life or at least make it sound exciting, but it was the words she used when I would listen to her on the phone. She is retired now and I'm about her only true friend, I let her have some of the "embellishments" only because she wants to sound like she was feared by other truckers. She lives with her daughter and grandkids now and is taking collage courses, even now I call her out on some of the stuff. I tell her the same I told you, be real, be yourself and not someone else. I have more respect for those who can be themselves. Never forget you got fans that love, care and are listening to what you say and tell us. Much love as a fan your Awesome never forget that 👍👍

I LOVE your honesty. You are exactly right about the whole "I'm fine" response. I just ran into the same situation when I was asked numerous times if I had a good new year. Most people I would respond with "oh it was great!", but to those that know me it was "it was the hardest New Year I've ever had!" New Years Day, my grandmother passed away in my arms. Nobody wants to hear that as a response, so I had to fake it when I was asked how my day was or what I had done that day. "It was great. I hung out with my family that day.." quickly became the easiest answer. It is socially awkward when you don't respond the way people expect you to. So, that being said, I appreciate your honesty. Life is hard, and we shouldn't have to feel like it's not ok to say that. One thing I love is asking my loved ones, "How are you doing? No, really, how are YOU doing?" They usually open up with what's bothering them at that point. They take the time to reflect on what's going on, and that makes them appreciate the love and concern. Keep being you and keep being honest with people. There are some people that appreciate it. Btw, A&W is the best ever!

I have lots of friends with nice houses, toys but that's not me at all and they can have that. I just found your channel. I want to add to the conversation in a sense...I think it's great how open and honest you are about life, changes, perspectives, etc. It's refreshing. I am drawn to people who are authentic and raw even. I feel like one of our main purposes in life is to relate to each other and to show unselfish love to one another.
Also...I absolutely adore your little buddy. I have 2 little guys too. I must say that you definitely lost me at liver, lol. I do love the sounds of cooking. I'm curious about how that "new" coffee tastes. Is it smoother? I drink Folgers at home too. I switch it up though between Classic, Black Silk, Breakfast Blend. I know that adding chicory and/or salt makes it smoother and less bitter.
I have a possible perspective shift for you. It may not apply to your experiences but it's a strong reality that I wish wasn't a concern. Unless someone is a grey haired granny, females and kids seem to be open season for human TFKing. We have it drilled into us now to constantly be on high alert while not making eye contact, not to be "friendly", especially to males. It goes against my more southern nature but it can be difficult to find the right balance. The rule though is to err on the overly cautious side. It may upset some but its about safety. Again, I don't know if that applies to your experiences bc even in those situations, rudeness doesn't seem appropriate. Idk.
We are all just trying to figure it out in environments that challenge everyone in some way. Personally, I am a Christian and can recognize it as how Scripture describes people towards the end. It's sad. It's scary. Its dangerous. Well, now that I have written you a book, lol. I hope you are having a pleasant day and staying safe.
Oh...as a side note, as you mentioned about perspectives regarding happiness...Mine is that happiness is experienced in moments when we have peace in our contentment. Joy is another matter all together. ☺️👍

Thanks for sharing a bit more about yourself. I agree with you about how people are perceived to be happy and what (new car, house, vacation) makes them happy. The older we get, the more we realize what is important. When you had Mason on you lap and said he was happy and this is all he wants, nothing else. I spend a lot of time with dogs - more than with any people I know - and they teach us so much. They don’t care what you drive, how nice your car is, where the next vacation will be. They just want to be with you, safe and fed and loved. All the other stuff doesn’t matter. They know when you’re in a funk and help you get out of it. When I get to walk/run my dogs, and they get their bellies full and they lay down content - there is nothing better than seeing them content. Lots of rambling but they teach us so much about what is actually meaningful in life - dogs are the best people I know. Thanks for the video. Me safe. See you next week.

Another great video. I was a little worried with the root beer potatoes and onions but may have to give it a try.
Enjoy watching you use the new gear and always learning little nuggets of gold camping tips.
My theory about being happy is to have something to love (our pets qualify), something to do, and something to look forward to. If you take inventory, I think you have it covered.

OMG…you sound just like me! I live in north central Florida and same thing here! People drive like nuts and everyone seems mad..especially at the grocery store. They block the isles, never smile and don’t make eye contact! I’ve lived here most of my life and the last few years here have been awful! I wish I could just take my pup, Willie and go camping like YOU and Mason. (My Willie weighs 7 lbs and looks just like Mason!) You are truly living the GOOD LIFE!😁✌️

Great video. Thank you for sharing how much chasing the material things in life had you numb and cut off from your feelings. I’ve had it even blind me to my sense of right and wrong. I’d tell myself it was “survival of the fittest” so oh well. I love watching Mason run! He is mostly chill until he gets to run like a dog and then he is Super Dog like you said.

Yeah, Mason just loves to run like that! 😀 it just makes me laugh seeing how much fun he has.
Thank you for watching 🙏 😊

Hi Larry. Thank you for sharing your inner thoughts and feelings. It's so true what you said. This is the reason I've distanced myself from social media. Lots of fake going on. I'm sure you have inspired many to open up and share their feelings. It's not healthy to keep stuff bottled up. Hugs for Mason 🤗

Well, I hope it inspired some people. I know it’s pissed some people off but I figured they’re probably the type of people I’m talking about 🤣

make sure you don't let the battery go dead. I did and had to replace it. I run the generator every so often or use a cheap battery tender

NAILED IT!! I felt this 100% people get uncomfortable when others have the ability to be honest about their feelers. I, too, am not one for hiding my feelings with friends and family, and sadly, that has caused me to walk many paths alone. It's okay to not be okay. And I wish more youtubers/ social influencers would show a little more of the not perfect days. Especially for our youths sake. Many of them have this false belief that if your life isn't perfect you're doing it wrong.

I wish more people (influencers) would show it too! I feel like not only to the youth, but a lot of adults think the same way 🤷
Thank you so much for watching. 🙏

I'm glad that you are finding yourself and discovering what makes you happy. I'm retired, but used to work over 60 hours/week in my work life. Despite being retired for 6 years I still get job offers. Recently, I was offered a 12 hour a week job for an unbelievable salary. My old self thought, "Wow I should take this." However, the thought gave me a sense of dread, and so I thought about it. I realized that I was very happy with my retired life. It is simple, but I'm a simple person. The extra money would not objectively make me any happier, and I treasure that I now have control over my life and schedule. Instead of following the cash I followed my heart and I am so happy that I did. Keep the faith and follow your heart, it will lead you where you need to go.

I have been watching you a little bit on and off, but I have to say I just subscribed and turned on my notifications. You opened up and gave me hope that it's not too late for even me. Thanks, I will be watching you.
