Really like the kitchen layout. The extra pop-up counter by the bed is genius. The "walls" around the bed are beautiful and were replicated by the side door. Overall, a really outstanding build. Thanks for sharing Patrick & Patrick.
I agree with you. I met Patrick a long time ago when he built his first camper and him and his whole entire family were there and we did a tour and they were just great people.
I was really impressed with this van build. The use of wood gives it a cabin feel which i love. I also love the hammock, tiny crevices here and there, big kitchen and steps to the bed, bathroom anf sitting area. If it was mine, i would like a shower, just some cut out whole in the middle of the van with a shower panel and removable curtains. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
Ohh mann... what a beautiful & intelligent design! Love the hidden drawer-step into the bed, the amazing big beautiful kitchen, the wooden oak tree wall with toothbrush caddy... all the inside & all the outside (just everything!). The outside paint & trim the simple, logical rock climbing steps on the outside to access the roof. 💜 Love it all, congratulations on an excellent build & design. Thx both Patricks 😎 and have fun to the new owners! Happy trails!
Thank you Patrick of NJ Adventures for continuing to bring great content to us. To Patrick the builder, as always your builds are unique and customized to your customers' needs. Great job as always and loving all your adventure pictures as well. To the clients, have a blast exploring. To all of you involved, congratulations on your collective efforts and adventures.
I love this build! It's functional, simple and beautiful. I love the color for this van and often wondered about using house paint so now I see it can be done. Thanks for sharing this with us today.
I would make the dinet facing the sliding door, so they can sit beside each other and install a lagun table in between..saving that legroom space.. to bump in more space for shower at the back where it is currently empty.
Thank you, Patrick X 2 or should I say, Patrick squared :)! Some unique ideas with this new build. I particularly like the basketweave ceiling in the bedroom space and the cutouts such as the tree divider and the scrolled piece near the doorway.
Glad you like them! Yes, the Patrick team this is now the sixth video we’ve done together I’ve known them back since fall of 2019 when I tore his first van build
🔥🔥🔥 The climbers on the side of the van are Super Dope and so much more aesthetically pleasing than a ladder! Dope build! I loved every aspect and detail! 🙌🏾💯
I don’t know what the big negative guy is talking about. This van is outstanding and brilliant in the features he has built into this van. I love his unique ideas. I would have liked the security of solar but if the inverter, alone, is powerful enough and can be recharged with the van’s battery that would be cool too. Also a larger water source would be nice too for longer times away from the public or good water. Consider a water filtration system? All in all I would buy it! Good job, bruh!
Since this was a bespoke build I’m sure the buyers will enjoy the layout. The jiigsawed walls are pretty cool and I haven’t seen anything like them in the videos I’ve watched. I also like seeing the upcycling of a used van. My suggestion to Patrick is to focus on building his finish carpentry skills. The rough-and-ready plywood joinery detracts from his creative design ideas. Some judicious use of solid woods would help as well as cut some weight.
For a permanent van life. Sell your house and everything that you think you don't need in a van life. Buy a cheap land and turn it into a off-grid garage as a home base. Find a company that has a good paying remote work setup. Buy a working old u-haul box truck that you will convert into a off-grid stealth camper. Then you can start your journey.
That is a beautiful dinette table, lovely. The accent lights are very nice. No direct light in your face but a wall wash light. Reflectix degrades fast when directly exposed to sunlight. I would slip it into a sun resistant fabric cover. Garage is spacious and roomy, nice. Lots of room for bikes and storage. 3:30 - Fabric on a table surface with unfinished wood? Hmmm. Water jugs on their sides will leak. There are better ways to build this out. 3:54 - You need a raised foot rest there not a trash can as the chair cannot swivel. 4:00 - The ceiling is not 'mostly cedar', it is all pine. Where is the cedar? 4:56 - Toilet in the dining room? While it fits there, there is no curtain around it, and it is very open. I would give this some privacy if you have two people in there. 5:20 - Clothes closet is too shallow and edges look rough not finished. Might catch on clothes. A lot of sharp wood corners on toilet seat and closet area that I would sand down. 5:50 - The 'coffee nook' - everything will fall out. You should have expanded the closet and given it more depth. I don't think this was a good idea. Chest fridge needs extension glides. So do some of the drawers. Kitchen needs overhead cabinets. Where do you put food and pots and pans? On the plus side, countertop and stove look lovely. Very pretty countertop. Your cut out divider walls may look pretty but are non functional. You cannot hang anything on them on either side. If you had made a low solid wall instead, more light would flow through and kitchen would have more knife racks, spice racks space. 8 gal fresh water tanks - portable not fixed, no outside fill. Have you ever lugged 8 gals of water? 8 gals x 8lbs = 64 lbs or the weight of a 100 amp hour Lead Acid truck battery. Try hauling that to the rest stop tap, times two. Put in a fixed tank with outside fill. This will get old fast. She will not be able to refill them on her own. It is a mistake to board up windows either side of the bed, no airflow. This will get hot and muggy inside, and very dark. You cannot open doors at night for safety, but you can open windows, and should. Exterior house paint on metal can be done but it won't prevent rust corrosion as you can see at 9:33. You should have used Durabak instead, as you can roller brush it on and it is very durable as a bedliner paint. It is a type of polyurethane not epoxy. Your van is a lovely turquoise color, but it is a soft paint that won't last or protect your car. Overall fit and finish needs improvement. Its liveable but not well thought out. I like the use of solid pine not MDF. I think the dinette was not a good idea and lost too much space. A bathroom could have been added instead and probably should in the near future. Also a large closet. Swivel the front cab chairs and create a dining and office space there. I would also remove that green table and add a cabinet with a drop leaf table for outdoors.
Love the color the climbing wall grabs and the power system option. The folk art esthetics are awesome the form and function look well thought out. One thought the kitchen window could be taller or higher. What does New Jersey outdoor adventures? Think about that kind of power system can’t really ask Patrick because there’s two of you. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

A little privacy for the bathroom and a shower would be nice
I’m sure if the customers asked for that, h would have built it for them. They plan on using gyms to shower daily as they travel across the country.
That was something on my mind, a bathroom is so essential but again if they didn't want it..... rather them than me.
Many people don't mind it and many people do, whatever makes each traveler happy!
Hi Patrick!!!!! I am interested in the dash camera. What do you suggest for an rv hook up?
