I’ve had two pairs of the Vans Infuse and like all the adjustability between the tongue stiffeners to the boa to the wrap at the top of the boot. It might take you a minute to figure out how much you like to set up the boot or how stiff you want them but they last don’t pack out and last a long time.
Yeah I think the customization is cool. Just wonder if it’s overkill to have the laces, the boa, the zipper, the velcro strap aaaaand the tongue dampeners. Lol.
@@BoredProgression I’m on my 2nd pair and have been riding this pair for 3 years. I have always rode them with the tongue stiffeners in and have gradually rode them with the strap a little tighter every year. I don’t really use the boa to tighten the boot much at all but after riding I use the boa to tighten up the boot and throw the strap on and I think this has helped the boot keep its shape when drying.
Super comfy boots with lots of adjustability. But many people, myself included had issues with the BOA guides pressing on the inner ankle bone. I tried many solutions and could never solve it, so usually ended up just dealing with the pain. Mine also only lasted about 50 days before they were wet noodles and had 0 support.
I’ve been riding the Adidas Tactical Lexicon ADV and Vans seems to be the likely go to now that Adidas bailed from the snowboard boot market. The adidas are also rounded but it’s doable once you get the hang of it on the lift. Thanks for the review Dan! Love the audio selection.
i went the other way. I had the infuse and im now on tacticals. My main issue with the vans was longevity and weight. They turned to mush in 6 weeks and are heavy boys compared to the adidas or TM2s. They have also made the toe of the boot more pointy than my pair which had that square toed fit like the Adidas. It suits me better but it's about what suits you. Just my 2 cents. Have a good season!
VO gloves. Best thing you’ll ever get for your hands. You can access all 5 fingers whenever you want, vent hot hands easily and you’ll never drop a glove again. Link in description.
I’ll never rock anything but the BOA system for snowboard boots. 15 years ago my Vans had a really painful break-in period, felt like my arches were on fire. After that they were fantastic boots and never lost their stiffness (I prefer stiff boots since I’m not a freestyle guy). One day at Powder Mountain 3 years ago they just literally fell apart and I had put my boots back together by hand and then crank down my binding straps to hold everything in place. Still had a great day that day and after some futile but valiant attempts combining duck tape and shoe-goo, it was time to suck it up and prepare my butt for the incoming piranha attack my wife was certain to unleash upon seeing a $400+ credit card charge for a new pair of snowboard boots. I thought I would buy another pair of Vans, but since I’m not a Rastafarian or 14 y/o boy I didn’t really care for the color scheme that year. I tried on a few different brands and went with the Burton Photon. What I really like about these new boots is how lightweight they are, and ZERO break-in period. No foot pain at all from Day 1.
Also rocking a new pair of Photon Step On's this season. However, I went with the Soft version. I ride all-mountain and so far, these boots are a major upgrade.
Burton boots have always fit me well out of the box. I personally haven’t like the look of the photons over the years, (not enough skate style) but this year’s models look better.
150 days of hard riding on the boot. the thing is you have to dry the boots correctly. its the 3rd pair of vans in the last 10 years. I think the main thing for snowboard boots is fitment. people do not spend enough time to figure out, what boot brand and model fits your feet. I rode pretty much any brand in my 30 years and every manufacture had something break. most of the times its user error. if you ride a soft boot as a heavy guy, or ride a softer boot for freeriding no wonder they break. boa is another thing, same with laces, they wont last forever, but are inexpensive to change. I think 100 days are the average you can get out of any boots. but if you got a problem with vans, at least they will help you out or you get your money back.
I’m testing boots right now and I have the infuse on my shortlist in size 11 right now. I also have a pair of TM-2 (also size 11) here and I can’t even get my foot in.
I checked these out the other day, but they seemed rather heavy. Did they feel heavy while riding or even hiking up that damn hill to get to the majestic or crest 6? Probably more concerned about the hiking, I get cliffed out a lot.
Been riding Rome libertine for about 3 years now (on my second pair) and comfort level is a 10 but god are they super soft. Literally bend them in half just using your hands. Been looking at the lashed premium and the infuse. Are the vans and thirtytwo true to size? I’m a true 9 but 8.5 in the Rome boots. Also had hi standard pros in a 9 but once they broke in my foot was like a fish out of water. Unfortunately I don’t have any stores around me because I live in the middle of nowhere so I have to order on the line
Heel hold is good! Especially once they broke in. With the liner lace pulled real tight I don’t get any lift. I will say I think the velcro placement of the liners on Burton boots allowed for better ankle pressure but I like my 32 boots better. Wish I could have the Burton liner with TM-2 boot lol.
Is anyone familiar with the "Snowsurf" variant of the Infuse? There are a couple differences (V2 sole, lack of structured toe cap) but otherwise they have the same specs.
I've rode the last 3 generations of this boot because of the comfort. They break in quick but don't last past riding 40-50 days per season. The setup can be complicated with 4 systems working together, but does add to the adjustability. Each year, I had some manufacturing defect which Vans isn't good at catching coming out of the factory. 3 years ago was a leak where water/moisture would come in from the heel. 2 years ago, the BOA wheel broke inside the boot. And last year, the zippers on top wouldn't zip all the way so snow/moisture would get in. These type issues shouldn't be happening with a boot, especially one at this price point.
I tested the Infuse but it has one severe flaw for larger sizes. Despite having a small footprint the sole is too flat on both ends, which results in much more likely bootouts compared to lets say a Burton Ion in the same size. Also the overall height of the sole including the insole is at least half an inch higher than on the Ion, which results in worse board feel imo. The sneaker like sole looks cool though.
@@BoredProgression I ride size 13 boots and waist widths ranging from 275 mm (park) to 285mm (freeride/carving). I love carving, even on park days and with my size 13 Ion Boa (which is probably the shortest size 13 boot on the market) 275/285 works just fine, but with the size 13 Infuse I would probably need 280/290 for similar edge angles without the risk of bootout. With the Infuse I also noticed that the difference between sizes 12 and 13 is huge and there is no 12.5. Big boy's problems, I know, but I just wanted to let potential buyers know.
They might. Seems unlikely but DC did it. But if you want step ins without limitations, you could always go with Supermatic bindings, or dare I say it… Clew? 😬
Would be curious to see what different bt microphones do with the gopro. I'm considering getting an action cam for my goats or for me when I'm working with the goats. What do you think of the crest 6 lift? I would have much preferred they replace majestic, or at least maybe just move the old crest lift over to majestic. Majestic is the slowest lift ever, which is frustrating.
I think the unfortunately most bluetooth mics aren’t going to have great quality but there might be something better out there. I may try a wireless mic/receiver that plugs into the media mod for better results. Yeah, I wish they just upgraded Majestic.
@@BoredProgression Yeah, the ends split and fabric rips where it folds over. Velcro gets less sticky too. Happening to mine and 2 of my friends have had it happen too.
I would love to see you do a review of the Ride Easy hook that lets you rest your board on the lift without using your free foot. I love mine, but for some reason so many people hate on it on the interwebs.
@@BoredProgression Right, looks cooky, but works great. especially on a tight lift when it can be difficult to have enough room to prop your board up on your foot. Also doubles as theft protection with the lock mechanism .

Well, it's not reliable, my vans infuse broke after just 17 days. Vans is not responsible and Boa will see if they give me repair but even so the base is bad, difficult to fix it, money wasted on the window never again Boa ,Vans terrible customer service
