I'm eating this right now.. It's a perfect clone of Haagen-Dasz Coffee Ice Cream!!! It's delicious. I didn't use any "fancy" coffee ... Just two tablespoons of Folgers Instant Decaf (in the green jar.) Just a note -- with a cheapo hand blender, it took 15 minutes of continuous blending on high speed to get it to thicken up. It made 1.5 quarts, at probably 1/4 the cost of Haagen Dasz. It still has all the calories :) Probably 150-200 calories per scoop. Thanks for the recipe!

    Here are the American measurements:
3 tablespoons of coffee grounds or instant coffee
    2 tablespoons of water
7 oz of sweetened condensed milk (half a can)
    2.5 cups of whipping cream
Combine the water and coffee grounds together, then add the sweetened condensed milk. Once combined, add to whipping cream mixture and beat until whipped. Freeze for 2-3 hours or until set and enjoy.

I made black licorice iceream that way, also. It was sooooo good. I just bought some black frosting gel at hobby lobby and anise extract at grocery store. Another short way to make black licorice is buy some vanilla ice cream (i used haagen dazs) then add the black food coloring or gel,the anise yummy.

I recommend using instant coffee powder or instant espresso powder, this cuts down on the water content (which helps with the texture after freezing) and also improves the coffee flavor ;)

I thought the ice cream very rich even with the added ounce of water (2Tbs).

@@kathrynmcmorrow7170 I've thrown cheap coarse instant right into the cream and started whipping. No problem but may depend on the instant stuff. Yes it is a very rich ice cream, but other TH-cam chefs who know their stuff use a similar base. CupcakeJemma uses even a higher ratio condensed milk and she's a professional patissier. This was posted on FB and a few weeks ago popped up in my feed. Tried it, used 5Tbsp of a "frou-frou" hazelnut 'coffee' (just a flavored mix, no caffeine as my kids were going to eat it too). My husband said it tasted just like the filling in a Mud Pie he had as a kid. He said it's delicious. Seriously. Told me we MUST do this again!
The best part about it, that it stayed like a soft serve, even after being in the freezer all night. No spoon bending icecream here, and made it super easy for my 3yr old to eat it alone too

Folks this is a very specific recipe. 2 ingredients to make this work are heavy whipping cream and condensed milk. No substitutions, no sugar free, no fat free. If you want sugar or fat free, try another recipe. These two ingredients work in tandem. After the base (cream and condensed milk) is made, you can add other things like cookie crumbs, chocolate chips or in this case small amount of coffee. Also by chilling everything over night including bowl, beaters and all ingredients, your recipe will come out better. Allow 6 hours minimum for ice cream to set. No peaking! Taking it out of the freezer will allow crystals to form.

Warning for people who make it without elektric mixer: it will take 30 minutes of torture to whip to a good consistency. Make sure all your ingredients are ice cold. Beat it with an ice bath underneath the bowl. Otherwise it will split :O

    • @gorillanobaka9772
      @gorillanobaka9772 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Yeah, but that's normal...especially when people get "smart" and use "LESS FAT, ZERO FAT, ONE PERCENT FAT " and other style of creams. It takes me 10 minutes of whipping to get the cream to a proper good consistency. But that's with a REAL cream . That's 50% fat which is your standard thick double cream. Remember 50% fat not 50% less fat than standard thick double cream... :)

Good to see a fellow Aussie on you tube too - another idea I had was to make the basic vanilla ice cream and then stir through anything you like - choc bits for choc chunk ice cream, hundreds and thousands, licorice extract, green tea if you're into that, any kind of fruit or berries, I think banana chunk ice cream would be yummy or even pureed banana in it (but don't forget the lemon juice over the banana so it doesn't go brown!), I might try oranges next with a drop of orange essence! You could use any kind of nuts as well, or make OnePotChef's peanut butter and add that to the ice cream mixture! YUM!!! The flavours you could do are endless!!

We don't like too sweet in an ice cream so i cut the amount of condensed milk i put and increased the amount of coffee, because we love the taste of coffee. I crushed some almonds, dark chocolate and cashew and added to the batter. It was superb. Smooth and yummy! Thanks for shAring your recipes with us.

Actually I tried this idea about a year ago. I remade several of my earlier videos. While there was some positive feedback, it seemed the majority of people thought I had "run out of ideas" and they were not shy about expressing it! In the end I think I only ended up uploading 2 "updated" videos, the rest I scrapped and moved on to other projects ;)

You told us that "200g of Sweetened Condensed Milk" is about 1/2 a can (I hope our cans here in America are the same size as yours). But you forgot to tell us how much "600ml of Whipping Cream" is. Please tell.

Bought a QT of Heavy Whipping Cream...So I only used 2 cups of the Whipping Cream so I can make another Flavor of Ice Cream. I did use about 1 Tbls more of Instant Coffee for a Stronger Flavor. Next flavor is going to be Apple Cinnamon. I had cooked up and Spiced a few apples the other day. That is what I will use for the Apple Cinnamon Ice Cream, I will stir in at the end, as I already mashed up the apples. They should distribute well. Thanks for the Recipe....it is so very easy and Quick to do at home.

Mash up some bananas and add those to it, get some tidy vanilla extract too, that sweetens it a bit, vanilla pods are even better but on the expensive side.

It's 7 20 in the morning and I want some now! Coffee ice cream is so hard to find and this is great as I don't need to use my ice cream maker. I'm going to recommend your channel to my 16 yo daughter who is studying catering at college I think you could be an inspiration to her as she lacks confidence at times and doesn't like advise from Mum.

This recipe is simple yet INCREDIBLE. So easy and fast, just frustrating to wait for it to freeze up and try!! My kids ate it all within two days... and that was a double batch. I won't buy pre-made ice cream ever again. Thank you thank you THANK YOU for the recipe! PS Made your strawberry version today and am eagerly awaiting it to set. Using Ontario (Canada) strawberries which just came into stores this week. I will make banana next as my Aussie hubbie loves anything banana and you obviously enjoyed making that one!!!! 🤩

I made this & it is totally gorgeous. TIP: instead of putting it all into one container use small single portion containers . (the sort you would use for a child's lunch box) The reason being that it sets like a brick, so it's much easier using a single portion tub.

I just made this the other night, and it is delicious! At first I used the same amount of sweetened condensed milk and whipping cream as in the video, but added 4 tablespoons of instant coffee. It was a little bitter for me, so I added the other half of the sweetened condensed milk and it balanced it out perfectly. This is the easiest and best way to make ice cream at home without an ice cream maker. Thank you for showing us this trick! I'm going to find other flavour creations to make in the future. Thanks again! :D

Being recently diagnosed with a life-long allergy to gluten, (talk about coming late to a party, yeesh!), I've been forced to learn new methods of cooking. Ice cream has always been my one true weakness, but so many types here in Canada use gluten in their recipes :(
Thanks to you, I can now enjoy a super simple but utterly scrumptious and Safe to eat coffee ice cream (my all time favourite type!). Love your channel and recipes - they are all fairly easy to switch to gluten free btw. Thanks so much!
