  • If you need a more affordable option for oXigen hand controllers, look no further than the Scalextric ARC Air/Pro hand controller. With slot.it firmware, it can be a basic hand controller for oXigen racing. In this video, I show you how to install the firmware, and then how to pair to an oXigen chipped slot car.

    I like that the vibration to confirm that the controller is paired to the car. Pity that slot.it has not put one in the SCP3: it could have been used to signal when a car is out of the slot, or running out of fuel, etc especially in view of the fact that slot.it has now a stronger collaboration with the RCS team.

      I remember the original digital cartridge has a vibration motor, but I don't think the oXigen one does, does it? I agree that it's a good use of the vibration, to confirm successful pairing. More control over when the ARC controllers vibrate would be nice for ARC based SSD racing. I usually turn it off because the things seem to vibrate for just about everything.

      @@ggaub I did not even know that the digital cart had one. The fact that scalex makes vibrate for anything is annoying. But I can imagine that with RCS it could be possible to customize when the controller should vibrate.

    Hey dude. Top man.
    Can I ask if you you know if these scalextric wireless controllers can be used with the original ARC One? Or do I need the ARC air. Because the ARC pro is for the digital isn’t it?

    • @ggaub
      @ggaub  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ARC One does not have any wireless function other than the bluetooth to the phone. It comes, and can only work with, wired controllers. You'll need the ARC Air to have the wireless controllers for analog (or the ARC Pro, which has analog mode).

      Thanks for the reply dude! Appreciate it.
      Yeah I wanted brake function on my arc one but as it only has two wire controllers the cars just coast with no brakes!
      I have managed to actually disconnect the controller wires to the track on the arc one and still use the lap/pit functions but then use a sport powerbase to control the cars with that has the three wire controllers with brakes!
      So simple now I know! Ha

      @@DJSpannamanUK I was actually going to recommend that when you mentioned brakes. If the ARC One had any control over the power to the cars, it would make sense to keep it, but it's really just a lame 2-wire power track with a bluetooth lap counter on top of it. You did the right thing. :) There are better controllers you can get, though, in case you're still using the Scalextric sport controllers.

      Safe bro!
      Yeah I was looking @ the Parma/ Truspeed ones with sensitivity/ brakes that come with a 3.5mm jack to go straight into the sport bases.
      You’re right about the glorified power base there! Just disconnected the power and job done! When I had both power bases wired into the mains but one disconnected inside the base I still had visions of the fuse box in the house going 💥 and plunged into darkness but it works fine!
      Now I can use the sport base with the 2x 16v plugs in for max power to each lane while still using the pit functions too!
      I love the SCP2/3 videos you made but I can’t afford those and a new base and then the oxygen chips for the car and then download all the software ect to my phone then to the controllers. That’s a mission! :0
      Thanks again dude. Happy racing.
      P.s I bought a new ‘slotwongs’ porsché 935 the other day and the motor was loose in the chassis and the gears had a tight spot! Magnet sooooo strong and when I took out the magnet the car would bounce in the track under hard acceleration because all the weight is in the back! Great body detail but the car is shocking!

      @@DJSpannamanUK Slot.it make a cartridge for the SCP that can work with your sport base, if you're interested. Just look for the Universal Analog version, and the adapter for sport power tracks. Whatever you get, it's money well spent to get an adjustable one, rather than a fixed ohm type.
      There are lots of brands that make great looking cars that run really poorly. With enough time and money, they can all be made better, but sometimes it's just not worth it.

    But what is the power of track?

    • @ggaub
      @ggaub  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      oXigen is a direct wireless control system. The track has only 12v DC sent to it. There is no "power base" of any kind, though a USB receiver is needed for race management. Look it up on slot.it web site

    Hola Greg, He comprado este mando con la finalidad de poder programar un coche fantasma. Pregunté a slot.it i y me recomendaron que me comprara este mando para poder preparar un coche fantasma. Tú sabes como programar un coche fantasma con este mando?
    Muchas gracias de nuevo por tu atención.

      Slot.it told you to buy the ARC controller as a remote for a ghost car? Are you using it for oXigen, or for ARC? Are you wanting the ghost car to record and play back your lap? For that you need the special Autonomous Car firmware for the oXigen chip. Is that what you are doing?
