I just learned about it existence and about this collection will be sold in December at Sotheby's . So I took a look at this collection and... my god I fell in love with the white Carrera! I don't know why but I found this car in white so elegant more than any other and I've never seen a white one before, it suits this Lady so well like an elegant wedding dress! ❤ Proof that we can always be surprised by “vintage” cars
With sorrowful look and a single tear shed... the most horrendously beautiful glimpse I've gotten into this crazy world you call everyday. A tragedy, yet a masterpiece. As art, at least they're preserved.
Personally, I think that color plays a big role in the beauty of the car... obviously the curator's going for uniformity here, but Porsche has made some great colors other than White
"Museum environment"? - It looks more like a private Porsche library or a closed gallery than a museum. Beautiful collection of course but I find myself asking why is the collection "super-secret"? ...and who actually gets to see this display in person? Close friends? VIPs? Journalists? It's a bit sad that so few will actually ever get a chance to see the art that is in that room. The collection is missing a Singer 911; it's definitely worthy!

That may be so and if I had the means to assemble of car collection of my own favourites, I too would be inclined to pursue examples that were original and unmolested. However... There is something about that Singer that err... "sings" to me. That beefed up retro-911 with modern mechanicals and the application of nice materials and finishes make the Singer a damn impressive tribute act if nothing else. For a collection as comprehensive as the White Collection, I for one would find the Singer 911 some floor space!

I really like the idea of a sort of extensive archive or 'preservatory' of everything Porsche, especially such a nice and clean one, but... at the same time it's sad to see so many great cars not getting used for what they were built for.

I dont really see why it's sad. It's one car per model year. It's so that it can be preserved for a future generation-- it's not a living being, it's just art, and should be preserved. If we drove the shit out of all of them, there wouldnt be any left in 50 years.

Nah, although black is a cool color it hides the shape of the car. It's difficult to see all the lines and curves, and that would not be a good thing because Porsche's have some really nice looking cars. Black would be better on a car that is not very attractive i.e. the McLaren Senna.

The amount of negative comments is simply staggering. I cannot understand how people are complaining about these cars not being driven. My money says that they are absolutely driven regularly; we just didn't see it happening in this short film (probably to help conceal the location). The way these cars are built, they actually need to be taken out frequently. Otherwise, the seals will dry up and the fluids will go bad. Also, would you rather see these sitting out in a field, or being preserved with the utmost museum-level care that they deserve?

Great collection. And then, you got a regular guy like me who is just getting a 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo "S". I've always been fascinated by Porsche. I suppose this all started in my teens as my family used to live in Frankfurt, Germany when I was 9 years old. Luv German technology.
Amazing. For effect they should add one green, one red and a blue one to the collection. Not metal paints of course, but those very clean brught ones they make. Just put them "randomly" between the others.

Not sure about the blue RSR you're speaking of, but to our knowledge, there are only two that came from the factory with a street interior, one white, the other silver.
This person has been collecting a long time. Otis Chandler bought most of his car before they went way up in value. His collection now would push the 150 million mark maybe more. This collection is in 40 million mark maybe. Who says the owner doesn’t drive them. Good friend of mine we are both p car nuts his brother has a impressive air cooled collection from a 72 rs to 94 turbo s speedsters he has been at it 30 years and bought a lot of these cars for good prices. Serious collectors normally have the manuals drawings from the factory, posters. Otis has impressive amount of original things. There are collectors around that have complete drawings you could basically make the whole car again down to the metallurgy all these things are very valuable. Hats off to this person and his passion for P cars.
While like a lot of people the thought of cars sitting forever is not something I enjoy. However this is a preservation project. This is how you continue the legacy to the future, and I applaud them for the efforts they've made to truly preserve everything.

The first 959's ever to be imported into the US were delivered to Holbert's in Warrington Pa. Al, my dad, Bill O'connell and myself had the pleasure of seeing them being delivered to the dealership.

(Corrected) Blue Carrera RSR sold for 2.25mil USD recently at RM Sotheby's auction.
There were two Carrera RSRs prepared with a street interior. One is blue, the other, in the collection, is white.

I do agree with you folks, those cars should be driven fast but, they were chosen because they saw their share of driving in their prime time, now they exist to educate.
