really like how you visualised this. well done! Val's voice is pure cream... Loved this version. Not the biggest fan of the song, but huge fan of the message. Thanks PB
I got interested in her because of Jamiroquai, I thought she was a terrific backing vocal, but I was very pleasantly surprised when listening her solo album ´´For what it is¨. I am so sorry that I took me so long to discover Valerie.
Great tutorial, I love your channel guys! I have a question about mic placement: I've seen some people use tube mics vertically as you have in this video, and I've also seen people suspend them upside down to avoid problems with "warmth?" . what is your take on this and what would you recommend?
thx for the info. i've been using a rode nt2. works well but i liked the high end of that mic in the video (and the price vs the old industry standards is astounding.-). it's a terrific video. applause and appreciation for all involved.
The singer's a real pro. Just wow. I'm amazed how fast the session went.
She’s one of the best singers around the planet. Check her with Citrus Sun, Jamiroquai and as Soloist. Cheers.
Valerie Etienne is the shit. Great voice, really love her in Jamiroquai and on Mwela Mwela by Jazzanova.
Awesome session! Also, 11:43 the "let's do that one again" face :D
Gorgeous voice Valerie :)
Holy crap, she is so good! Bravo!
Flawless!
Both huuuuge artists, glad to see them today playing with this !
Splendid session
Another top vid from PB.
killer voice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This video is so helpful !
We're so glad to hear it!
That was cool!
I already know how to sing like Lorde. You just sing: "I am Lorde, Ya Ya Ya" then add some auto-tuning and voila!
+Kiet Le lol

+Stuart Crofts oh and by the by well done Ski
+Stuart Crofts thanks man.. Had to convert the project from FCPX to Premiere to get it finished... Got there in the end though!
Great
Thanks, great vid! :)
I love Valerie Etienne Great voice and SEXY on top of that.
Hahaha!!! You make it look so easy! This is unreal!!!! :)
Bet it sounds great after the mix
Hi guys , Which preamp was used for tracking her voice? Thanks for the video !
what make and model is the mic?
+GARY MURWAY Looks like the SE2200II - www.seelectronics.com/se2200a-ii/
thx for the info. i'm not familiar with that mic but val and the might sound terrific! i'm surprised at the reasonable cost for the mic.
+GARY MURWAY It is an excellent mic. Very cheap for how good it sounds. Amy Winehouse was recorded with that mic.

It's easier to sing with lordes genre when the beats is not that loud while singing.
This song sounds impossible to sing. The notes are jumpy without a ton of repetition.
ahhh. her voice is tuned during the recording and lip synced. lol. Cool video tho. Would rather see all that goes into the process
oh god. vocal production in ableton? sucks.
