    Hi I had the same engine for 2 years ran it rich always on Valvoline 2T oil at 20/1, 7000 rpm keep a check on the head temps with a lazer temp checker after 2 years and lots of flights in a Hanger9 Corsair my engine was not fully broken in but it never ever let me down they are great engines if you look after them

      I am on 2nd gallon of fuel now. So, it's not fully broken in yet, but I love it. That thing sips the fuel! It's in my Waco biplane and I like the combo a lot!

      @noahschechtel8979 Thank you. And yes, I have injected 20cc of the red line oil through the nipple while turning the propeller before the break-in.

      @noahschechtel8979 The top nipple should always be closed like I have it in the video. The bottom nipple should always be open.

    👍 good video~explained easily and simply.
    next step, high needle 6200rpm setting and low needle response setting?

      @LeVap_Aviation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First thank you for your comment. And yes that is correct. I set my high speed needle to about 6000 rpm on the ground and set the low speed needle to a nice smooth transition.

    how is your max rpm? I have 6050 by MENZ 24×12wood. how many turns high needle from 3 turns.

      @LeVap_Aviation  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have switched to 20:1 oil ratio after the first tank as per the manual. I opened up the high needle 3 turns and I am getting about 6400 RPM on the ground with Fiala 24x12 wood propeller. I am flying it with that setting. The engine has about 2.5 hours of run time right now.

    are the jugs still cracking at the bolt holes?

    • @LeVap_Aviation
      @LeVap_Aviation  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not aware of that issue.

    • @conbonesthevoid1448
      @conbonesthevoid1448 ปีที่แล้ว

      About six year my buddy purchased on of these we broke it in per manufacturers instructions and after a couple flight the jugs cracked at the bolt holes. He sent the motor back got a new motor and cracked in the same places. Sent that one back to and they sent him another new motor saying that was the last one they would send him. So he never ran it and sold it at the perry Georgia model aircraft swap meet.
