I have to admit due to grimmlife, this is one place I would definitely visit if I visited California. Alot of the props and items in the museum are absolutely amazing. Happy Halloween 🎃

Hey, be cautious about it... I visited from Australia early 2023 thanks to Grimm life. I saw lots of props/costumes at the Academy Museum were also here... Which made me question how legit it is. Almost everything had no labels about "screen used" or what its background is exactly... Some items did have yellow cards saying screen used, therefore making me believe this entire floor was just museum made copies for display purposes only.
For example, the CP30 at Academy Museum looked like the actual legit one, shiny and solid materials. Here they also had CP30 and looked cheaper quality with no information... Looked matte and paper mache-like fake materials.
Academy Museum of Motion Pictures would be the best place to go - visit both but just know that this place is probably lying to people unless there's a yellow card specifically saying screen used
Especially considering it's only like $20 admission it made me realise it's probably all just pretend (mostly)
Notice they have Freddy Krueger costume and glove in this video yet Grimm mentions nothing of it and shows it for a flash. I remember seeing it in person - no information other than "Freddy Krueger - Nightmare on Elm Street"... Like is this his actual screen used costume? Or one of how many? Is the glove real too? Who knows...

Seriously GREAT museum if you are a movie buff! The part shown in this video is great, but there is WAY more to this museum, including color coded rooms for when they did hair and makeup for Lucille Ball (jadeite green), Marilyn Monroe, and Elizabeth Taylor. Silent movies. They even have Judy Garland’s dress from age two as part of the Gumm Sisters. For movie buffs, this is the best museum celebrating film history. 🙂👍
Ok I gotta comment again…. 9:29 Quills is my favorite movie of ALL TIME and I can’t believe it’s being acknowledged here! It’s so underrated so this is awesome to see

The original movie made from The Red Dragon novel is 'Manhunter'. From 1986, starring Wm Petersen. It's the Hannibal prequel to 'Silence of the Lambs' js🤘🏼.

Not gonna lie I went back and watched this over and over maybe 7 times lol but I usually do that for you guys’ videos because that’s how amazing I think they are. There’s a bad winter storm happening here right now and this video made my whole day! I love that Sweeney Todd costumes were shown here! And again just how detailed everything is and how massive the displays are. Museums will always be one of my favorite places to go, I’m a sucker for history! 9:45 Trust me, as a kid born in the late 80s and growing up in the 90s... this dog was the scariest thing ever portrayed in a PG13 film. It probably doesn't hit the same, but this would be a great movie to watch on an Up All Night episode. It's not a horror movie by any means, but just to appreciate the depiction of Hercules aka The Beast in the movie would be cool

Definitely recommend watching the Sandlot at some point. Nothing horrifying about it at all. A wonderful comedy-drama/coming of age film that takes place in the early ‘60s. The dog looks horrifying, but it’s because it’s how the boys in the film imagined it being. Their imaginations made the dog seem scarier than he actually was (apologies if that spoils it a tad). Love your videos. They’re always a highlight to my week!

I lived in Hollywood only blocks from downtown in the 90's. No cool museums back then. They were just starting to revitalize the area. Lots of strange little shops filled with movie scripts, etc. As for Elvira, I saw the movie because I was a fan of her appearances on talk shows in the 80's. I have to tell you when she was in a black nightie I lost it. Thought she was the sexiest woman alive. The dagger on her belt is a witch's athame.
It's the glossy brown sauce you need to watch out for. In True Blood, the church where Sookie was held prisoner with Eric's Maker is by my house at the Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier California😮.
I"m shocked how large and expansive this museum i, it looks small from the street!! So much great stuff!

Sorry I missed it when I was down there a few weeks ago. Most everything else there is a tourist trap (wax museums etc). But the Hollywood Museum is a non-profit society so they aren't charging rip off prices. It rained buckets for the first time in maybe two years I was told. I went to Jamesons Pub instead. Thanks for the tour that I missed.

Nice guys, here in Massachusetts we have some crazy massive abandoned children’s hospitals with disturbing history, some have very old grave yards, my mom worked at one of the hospitals back in the 70s and she has some wild stories, one hospital at the bottom of a set of stairs about 30 cribs where piled up so you couldn’t get down it was extremely chilling, we went to a old gym at one of them and the floor was so wavy, a huge tree growing in the middle, very very creepy places

I went to the Jobcorps in Grafton (I live in Worcester county) for about a month, the rumor was that the facility was formerly a state owned mental hospital compound. It certainly looked the part and I'm not sure what else this set of brick buildings could have been. Some of the buildings were abandoned and the residents had stories about sneaking into them, always relaying how creepy they were.
I love New England.

Looks like a great place to visit if you’re already close to the area. Super spooky and you did a great job giving us a tour! the cardboard cut outs and “authenticity” of some things made it way less spooky and very unimpressive for Hollywood so I thank you for saving me a trip to see one dimensional faces and plastic dogs

Part of The Sandlot revolves around a dog, where kids claim it was some horrific maneater. When a kid is telling the supposed story of the dog's carnage, there is a 50s-style montage of a monster dog killing all in its wake. I'm imagining that sequence was what that dog puppet was used for. Very much NOT a horror movie but it's wholesome and worth a look. Amazing video as always! I would love to see this museum and The Academy museum if I ever get the chance to visit.

I love that y'all are doing this. . .My husband and I were there **9 years ago**. . .They have remodeled a lot of the scenes but they did mention that when we were there. Everything looks really good and updated. As for the 'Silence of the Lambs' set . .yeah. . It still creeps me out.
About 1:31 into this, I can concur with the framed posters. I have an uncle that had something similar to the one on the right. It terrified us as kids in the night, also because we were supposed to be sleeping and not goofing off in the house. It was a painted picture of a woman who looked scared and her hand was reaching up to cover her mouth. Now looking at in the dark with a very dim light. . .yeah. .I can imagine that would creep anyone out. As for today, I think he got rid of it due to the Great Grandkids and hearing their complaints. 😉

Amazing vlog! I loved watching this! So many movie memorabilia there. Actually The Sandlot was not a Horror film it was a baseball movie but they made the dog in the film scarier than it really was. Even in some of the shots you can see the dog was fake then when you actually see it. lol
