Coach Washijō dislikes Hinata not just because of how he sees himself in Hinata, but because of what he sees in Hinata that he didn’t see in himself. The Drive to overcome his limitations.
It's pretty hard to overcome our limitations to be fair , most people shy away from it. Believe me not many people in volleyball have that much of less height and play professional , why ? Because for simple fact height in this sport matters.
I’ve said multiple times no show makes me physically cringe as much as haikyuu. The tension, excitement and anxiety I get during the matches is insane😂😂
I actually love Shiratorizawa's coach, not as a person, but as a antagonist. He lived his whole life being told he didn't have what it takes to fullfill his dream because he was short, something completly out of his control, so he told himself the only way he could be trully happy was to become a coach, and use stronger and tallers players to his benefit, since he couldn't be one. Obvliously it didn't work, and he became a irritable miserable old man full of regrets. Plus, now that he's waaaay too old to do something about it, a kid matching his height is here being a serious threat to his huge all-stars team. He cannot accept it, being a grown up about it would mean to accept that he wasted his entire life, when it was actually possible that could have been happy. So won't accept it, he must win this match and prove that he is miserable because he didn't have a choice, and not because he gave up. P.S: To add more to all of this, the name of the season finale is "The Battle of Concepts"
The nishinoya moment always gets me every fucking time Damn he is sooo gooddd!😭😭 and sadd there's no double drop :'(( And I kinda get where Washijo sensei's coming from..Being bigger in sports is always an advantage but sometimes there are small people that can be such a big force like hinata he's just being a sour old man imo haha
i might be the only one but i never got the point marketa was trying to convey about shiratorizawa's coach. like how did him saying "bigger is better" correlate to him instilling fear to his students lmao? i mean he is the coach and used to play volleyball so he clearly is speaking from experience. while i dont agree with what the coach was saying, it perfectly made sense to me tbh
I LOVE THIS SHOW!! Noya's double return, that ONE TOUCCHHH from Tsukki and when he goes "go!" always gets me. The music is gorgeous! Asahi getting the point after the double save. Just GAAAAHHHH! I freakin love this show. Can't wait to see the next one!
Haikyuu is one anime that throughly follows its manga, the amt of spoilers we have is insane. Its one unbelievably warm, competitive and love worthy anime I everrrr watched. Love the reactions lol
I love how everyone contributed to eachother's growth, this is true sportsmanship, we learn from mistakes, our teammates, our opponents then grow, there are no heroes or villains, no one dies and knowing what will happen in the future too haikyuu makes more sense after rewatching .
the only annoying thing about these reactions are how most of the members are just so ignorant on how deadly of a player ushijima is, being a volleyball player myself winning half the points for the team by yourself is beyond impressive and its exhausting and yet we see ushijima go with the same power almost all the time since the first set, tsukishima is mvp of the game so is noya but what suraj was pointing out is that ushijima is the mvp amongst players even the karasuno members acknowledge that, having the opponents entire defence focusing upon you until the very end of the match and still scoring half the points by yourself in a 5 set game is terrifying, added to the fact that even when players such as noya asahi tsukishima kageyama and daichi are covering your spike with a 3 man block and two recievers being ready to pick a spike up in the court it was ushijima who still put the preasure in the overall match.
i disagree that karasuno got lucky and that's how they won. rather, i think shiratorizawa was unlucky to play karasuno--karasuno's unique concept, innovation, and combination of players was the direct antidote for shiratorizawa's brute-force, classic playing style. karasuno won as a team, and each point was won as a team. as good as ushiwaka is, the better team (in this match) was karasuno
Lol imagine saying that Karasuno was lucky to win this game.... One person doesnt make a team, Ushiwaka is one of the best players of the show, but he cant defeat a whole ass team on himself. Singularly Wakatoshi was the best but overall Karasuno was better, had more motivation, and they were the more hard working. It wasnt luck. It was fucking hard work.
@@PanyikPatrik you think no one in shiratorizawa worked hard enough? lol they worked the hardest among every team, they practiced with college kids cuz their skill ceiling was so fucking high that no one else in the region could compete with them, at that point, karasuno's setter wasn't nearly as well rounded as oikawa, shrimp was dogshit at everything other than running it down and they didn't even have a concept for their team, they just copied everyone they played, the only reason they won was plot armor and someone who surpasses plot armor, my guy nishinoya, karasuno was extremely lucky, literally everyone other than the first year duo fell off after high school
@@abirmahmud2242 lol, I never said that Shiratorizawa was not hard working, of course they were, but Karasuno worked the hardest out of the two teams. And funny you say that plot armor was the reason they won, when in reality, they beat Aoba Johsai who went on par with Shiratorizawa in the past years since Oikawa was there, and you cant say that they beat Oikawa because of plot armor, since they have lost to them a season before, went on a huge training spree with a few of the best teams in the tokyo region (Nekoma, Fukurodani). I wouldnt say it was plot armor, it was the training they done between the two tournaments. Kageyama became an absolute monster with his 100% accurate sets which he practied in the Tokyo training arc. Asahi learnt his monster serve in the same arc, Tsukishima trained with one of the best blockers AND spiker in the Tokyo region, the team adapted from the teams they saw there, and dont come saying it was copying when the symbol they use are Crows which are basically stealing everything they find interesting or useful. The teams basic foundation is to always evolve, from other teams, to finding new things (monster quick).
@@PanyikPatrik one player can definieley beat a whole ass team in most sports, including volleyball. Of course the star player needs great support from the teammates, but it's very much possible. Especially when that one player is already in Japan's national team while the opponent is just a bunch of talented but amateur high school kids.

I'll always have Shiratorizawa's couch's back. If only because the girls will super hate him because he doesn't treat Hinata like baby Jesus. Also, grumpy old men are fun.
Battle of Concepts is really highlighted in a lot of ways the entire game including blockers. Shiratorizawa is very straightforward and offensive-focused team. Even their middle blocker Tendo, despite Blocks being a defensive tactic he puts it to offensive use because his style isnt just guess blocking. Tendo outright likes to shut down the blocks along with the guessing and it gives him the satisfaction of seeing the other player’s face when he totally disables their spikes. This is contrasting to Tsukki whose blocking is team focused. His classic “one touch” calls because he can rely on his teammates to recover it. Then with Ukai’s and Hey Hey duo’s coaching, Tsukki’s instincts allow him to time the blocks with the other members accordingly to corner opponent spikers into hitting towards Noya the libero. Tsukki really rounds-up Karasuno’s team-oriented dynamic play with his blocks.

@@wymg4480 same, pat has become my fave reactor for the series. He can acknowledge that both teams have amazing players without having to attack anyone. The show is amazing because all the players have great skill and personality.
It’s like that for some reason lol. Some women attach themselves to the cinnamon roll characters they like and get really protective over them, which on one hand is nice that they’re really enjoying it but on the other hand it can get annoying when it causes them to miss or straight up completely misunderstand entire scenes and wrongly hate a character for a misconception (remember when they sincerely thought Oikawa used to abuse Tobio and hated him for it)

They didn't mention how they feel about the new voice actor for coach ukai but I just can't with that voice. I'm sure he's a fine seiyuu for other characters, but it just doesn't match whatsoever. I know exactly who I would've cast instead.
it's disgusting because hinata didn't have enough skills to back up his claims and yet somehow came up victorious every time, to absolute perfect player like oikawa that is some horseshit, if it wasn't an anime oikawa would be facking shiratorizawa right now, the fact is proven by how he plays for argentina and is even invited to Olympic national team later despite never making it to nationals in high schools, plot armors go a long way
