Thank you SO MUCH for this tutorial! I can never find a good thorough guide on the smaller details of streaming and then how to integrate it into OBS so thank you for this!
For streaming on consoles you have two different options that I'm aware of. Some consoles allow you to stream directly from the console to Twitch/TH-cam/etc. I think if you want to get the most out of streaming you'd need a console to PC setup. So how it would work is you'd have OBS running and you'd connect the console directly to your PC and you can stream the visuals of the game through your computer and add graphics/webcam/all the cool stuff. I'd recommend looking into a Game Capture Device if that's the route you're wanting.
I agree it's frustrating. There's another website called Streamlabs that offers an alert box and it's actually what I've been using for the past few years. It has a lot of the same features, as well as donations, but the reason I opted for Twitch alerts is because I felt it has features that add a bit more excitement for engaging with chat, like the Celebration and Channel points and it's relatively easy to setup. It'll take a bit more time for me to see the differences, but at this moment I kind've like the idea of donations being filtered into bits as opposed to me having to be cautious of a donator trying to do something shady with PayPal. I've been seeing a few TikToks about donator horror stories, but I agree it's annoying not at least having that option available.
This helped thank you so much boss :)) liked and followed

Would you still need OBS if you only streaming on game consoles? I’m just curious because I’m not familiar with OBS I only use Twitch.
