just hit the 5K mark in my GR86 today and it's time for that oil change / maybe RTV inspection . . . how I wish I could have you here in Dallas to do that work for me, hard to find that trust in shops being new to the area lol
If your into cars you should Really learn how to work on your own stuff. Because at the very least hack shops can't get away with this because you would catch it.
I saw the “Subaru of Puyallup” sticker on this car & got excited for a sec cuz I thought you guys are located in WA state (only to find out you’re not ☹️). I now know you’re in CA but do you know any trustable shops in WA state for GR86 work?
Was going to say this. You gain no power it just looks really good. 1800 for intake takes it to a shop that sucks to install it. This is the reason I got out of the car industry. Everyone wants you to cut your rates and argue and say you charge too much. There is a reason I don't eat daig fees and such because I actually do the diag the shops that eat the cost are ripping off their techs so most just plug in a scan tool and guess with your money because of it.
@@CrazyCat229 I am grateful that our shop is at the point where we do not offer discounts. Period. I've heard the saying before: If it is so easy for you to discount your workmanship, the surely your workmanship must not be worth very much.
@@CMAutohaus Exactly. You get what you pay for 100% but you are also super honest and you do what you say you are going to do. I wish more shops were run like this. I might still be working as a mechanic.
Good techs are hard to find, I am Ferrari Master tech with work ethic much like yours. I saw other techs do garbage work like this in the field on $900K+ vehicles. I blame Flat rate Pay and dealer greed, we as techs are not all equal but customers don't see the value in our skill, sad.
Flat rate on high end/classic vehicles is preposterous. I apprenticed at MBZ USA. Imagine bringing in your 70's benz, McLaren SLR, or Maybach only to find the tech that is assigned to your car has to rush out the job because is he flat rate without base pay. Happened all the time.
“Customer is focused on price point” I’m gonna say it, but that customer is an idiot. He obviously isn’t worried about price because I see a lot of expensive parts… He just doesn’t wanna pay you.

Grateful this man is my mechanic 💪
Pay now or pay later... try to get the job done right the first time.
Customer probably paid 3x the original cost of the oil cooler install by having us redo and fix the previous shop's shoddy workmanship.
I've been to Fremont,CA it's a big city I live in Merced,CA love your channel.
Im about to install the Jackson Oil cooler on my 23 brz this week, great video!
Slit a rubber hose and ziptie it on top of that headlight area to prevent the hoses from rubbing

dang, already learned my lesson on crush washers and got a variety pack to make sure I never ran out...
Must be fun to have an awesome brand new vehicle that's already getting poisoned by rust.
Disappointing to say the least
Yo fam, either do it yourself, or bring it to a quality shop like CM Autohaus!
Thank you for the kind words!
W stands for winter in oil viscosities
I mean track car should be running 5w30 weight oil. 0w40 is an alternative

I'd ask your local community for a shop rec. PNW should be Toyota heaven. ....should be*
Don't the oil filters come in a kit any more, with a new plug and crush washer?
Sold seperatly
@@CMAutohaus Gross! But surely not that expensive.
first car I've seen with the blitz air intake
So Gruppe M is made by Blitz?
@@Dtt4 idk tbh I just know that air intake is like $2k
Pays a bunch of money for a Gruppe M intake but is frugal when it comes to getting stuff installed. Makes no sense.
You would be shocked for some reason for many, they can justify an very expensive part, but it is not worth it to pay the labor to install.

The poor man pays twice.
Many still dont understand this
Not enough homework was done by the shop.
Just like the dealership, the faster you can get the car out, the more money you make. Who cares if the job is done right or not!
