Oldonyo Sabuk means mountain of the bufallo which when translated to Kiswahili is Kilima mbogo. They both means the same thing. Also, it's one mountain, they are not two. Kambas call it 'Kyanzavi' , kikuyus call it 'Kianjahi'. It is a very easy mountain to hike and climb all the way to the top.
Oldonyo Sabuk does not mean mountain of the buffalo. "Sabuk" is simply 'big' and Oldonyo is mountain. Though that and Kilima Mbogo refer to the same thing, the two names have no correlation. As the names they are, they don't mean the same.

Hi Liv seems you went upto Makutano and used the Mks Kitui road.. the google rerouted because you could have gone back to where you came from the previous junction at min 23:44 and used Matuu Kanyonyo Kitui Highway but instead you used the Mks Kitui road by virtue of joining the road at Makutano ma mwala junction... Good views the Kibwezi road starts as from Kitui.. Looking forward for the rest of the Road trip

Noticed from your videos that unlike Tanzania and southern countries, in Kenya road lane markings are white on the shoulders and yellow or white in between lanes to signal oncoming or same direction traffic respectively. Other countries use yellow on the shoulder and stick to white in between lanes
Hi olivia that was nice, its near my home area though am married at mombasa,. You used a very long way, there is a shorter root through tala and also there is a very good scenery on top of the mountain a placa called nthui where you can see the whole yatta plateau

From what I was told by the locals, Ol Donyo Sabuk is the name of the park, and the mount is called Kilimambogo. It's quite a hike, but very refreshing when you are at the top.
Oldonyo Sabuk mts/ Kilimambogo mts. It's one and the same name. The former is a maasai name. The Kikuyu call it Kianjahi, Kambas Kyanzavi. A mountain of Bufallo.
Point of correction- That road is Machakos-Kitui road and not Kibwezi-kitui road as you've indicated 39:55 .And next time while at it visit Wamunyu handcrafts(in Wamunyu town)for the best curios and wood carvings

Katangi is my centre. the google gave you the correct route to kibwezi. you will experience good road and a section of plateau. The river you crossed before katangi its rive Athi. The dirt along the river banks came as a result of lastly floods. Otherwise the river is always cleaner that what you had seen. Save Journey.
