    Today we lost a great leader, Kenya's former 3rd President Mwai Kibaki. Please leave a comment on how you will remember him.

    • @AfrikanTraveller
      @AfrikanTraveller  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There are few people who have had such a profound impact on the future direction of Kenya than Mwai Kibaki. His knowledge and wisdom on running an economy undoubtedly enhanced the economic revival and development of our Nation.
      It is a tribute to His passionate determination that so many of us feel such a deep sense of loss at his passing.

      He established many public universities and opened up university education. He also significantly opened up the democratic space in Kenya. Oh ...I forgot to mention that he also promulgated the 2010 Constitution of Kenya that we are currently using. R.I.P President Mwai Kibaki.

      He awoke dead industries, awoke sleeping trains and rotting rails, he reduced dollar rate cost from 90 to 65. Unfortunately with Uhuru rigime dollar is much worse at 115.

    I have been to Kitui once and I can say for sure the place is beautiful. I fell in love with the scenery especially the mountains and the hills, I think the place looks more like California in the US, but that in terms of nature. it's a very good setting for a city, Kenya should have one there maybe in the future.

    Thanks for the tour. Kabati area (kitui west) is my home. Yes...road is well done but still under construction...the parallel road junctioning from Kabati, goes to Mwingi town. It's part of the South Sudan-Ethiopian road(Cairo-Cape highway also I think). It was supposed to be built a new straight road and they'd put beacons everywhere across people's lands years ago, but it proved expensive for government. Now they're tarmacking and repairing the normal used roads. We in kitui are benefitting very much.

    The interchange you saw is the road to Machakos, the beautiful roads is work of no Kenyan but Chinese, it's part of the lapset project road to western Kenya I think 🤔.
    Kitui is beautiful I wish we could link I show you how big it is, the beauty and not so beautiful about it. This video Melts my heart though ♥

      So you think the Chinese give it for free.. a credible government means the ExIm Bank (th lender) can be confident with country's credit-worthiness and that takes work.. put it this way, you got Fuliza from Saf for say 3k and took your love out on a date, bought her kuku, drinks or whatever.. did Safaricom pay for the bill..? I think we ought to learn to pay credit where it's due.. what Uhuru's government has accomplished the past 10 years no other country in Africa can.. not any time soon.. ata uko kwenu if you're Somalian by descent, the government in Mogadishu or the monarchies in Arabia can ever replicate what you blatantly attempt to dismiss off..
