"I am not your failure, Obi-Wan" delivered in both Anakin and Vader's voice HURT especially with his face temporarily bathed in blue. There were some missteps in their series, but the duel was absolutely brilliant.
“Anakin is gone, I am all that remains.” I can say this much, this entire fight brought me to tears. Then when Kenobi and Vader started talking to each other when Vader got his mask cut, I just straight up cried. The emotions on this scene were really heavy. At first when they started talking, Anakin/Vader’s face was glowing blue from Kenobi’s saber which I found symbolized there was still a little bit of Anakin left. Then when it panned to Kenobi and then back to Vader, Vader was all red from his lightsaber, which then symbolized that Anakin has been completely devoured by Darth Vader.
I don't think anakin ever really died. At that point he told obi wan that he was not responsible for anakins death. i don't think that was vader taking credit, I think it was anakins remains trying to free obi wan from that pain. After that it turns red because vader comes back to the forefront and anakin is back to sleep. We know he doesn't die because darth sidious senses him in darth vaders fixation in obi wan at the end.

This was the only thing missing from the fight, a remix version of Battle of the Heroes. It would’ve wrapped up nicely the end of the Prequels and transition nicely into Original Trilogy.
Battle of the Heroes was written and composed specifically for the fight between Obi Wan & Anakin in Ep III. It's called Battle of the Heroes, because Obi Wan & Anakin were heroes of the Clone Wars, and indeed the protagonists of Revenge of the Sith. The title alone indicates the conflict within Anakin during the fight, he has yet to fully transform into Vader. It would make no sense to have "Battle of the Heroes" play in Ep 6 of Obi Wan Kenobi because neither of them are Heroes. Obi Wan became a recluse, who cut himself off from the force, turning his back on the Jedi - including the one on Tatooine who asked for his help - and the hero that was Anakin Skywalker no longer exists, at least in the context of this fight. This track would thematically make no sense as this is not a Battle of Heroes anymore
@@_McCullochDavid depends on the point of view as well. In a way Obi wan at this point still believed anakin to be in there even though he had fallen. It wasn’t until after their talk that Kenobi calls him Darth. Under that mask is still the War Hero Anakin. The conflict is still there thus the hero still remains. Darth has always had difficulty completely erasing Anakin in both the expanded universe/legends and Cannon. The song would still make sense if you look at it this way. Also to point out, battle of heroes in episode 3 revenge of the sith Anakin had already committed some pretty serious villainous acts so Anakin wouldn’t really have been considered a hero anymore by their fight if you think about it the way you’ve described. Honestly I like to think of it is a Anakin and obi wan theme. And this extends to vader too because Skywalker and Vader are technically both the same people
You can’t just go around farting out good tracks just because. It needs to be able to mix with the choreography, the setting, all of that stuff. Play battle of the heroes over the fight and tell me if it fits in.

Lol "wait so you tellin me if Ashoka AND Obi fought Vader together they'd get the whole Face but not Anakin himself? Sad for them" Though i guess Ashoka would first ask Obi wtf did he do to her Master
It was more than that if you think about it. Now, I didn't see either fight (aside from clips), but in both Ahsoka and Obi-Wan's case, they fought against the dark; feeding into the whole hatred thing. Whenever they exposed Anakin, it was through force and only revealed the hatred within him. Luke on the other hand didn't want to fight his father. Through his inaction to fight against him, Anakin willingly let Luke remove his mask, thus instead of the hate-filled fallen Jedi his former friends saw, Luke saw a kinder, yet disfigured man. But that's the point. Vader was no more because his son showed him compassion, and all that was left in the end was the true Anakin Skywalker. tl;dr: Obi-Wan and Ahsoka's fight exposed Vader's hatred within when they fought, whereas Luke's compassion gave Anakin to finally come out of what was left of Vader.
i loved that because it was like two major people in his life, like his left and rights, and each one cut a different side revealing another part of him

Ewan and Hayden did so good, I wish we'd gotten more. 😭 And as always, Samuel, you did a masterful job in making me cry listening to this beauty. THANK YOU 😭
This duel was amazing. You can see how vader fights more emotional against kenobi then reva which shows you how he dedicates time against those he knows and non to strangers. Plus obi wan finally realising his strength and knowing now that he can fight and defend shows us how much those two kids mean to him and how they reminded him if why hes a jedi.
This fight was sold for me when Obi wan used anakins twirl strike on him, TWICE!! And had him on the back foot! They did this fight so perfectly well, I felt like a little kid again! I only wish that the rest of the show could have been handled better, but this duel was perfection.
I feel like a lot of people have been hating on the music from the show. Just because it wasn't the music from the prequels doesn't mean it isn't good. Give it some time and we might like it more than we first did.
Man this duel and the confrontation after was truly something special. The voice mixing of Vader and Anakin made it even better. And the blue and red light on his face was such a nice touch. And this piece is trying to epic.
Arguably one of the top 3 greatest live action lightsaber duels ever. The only good thing to come from the show that I had such high hopes for which would eventually crush my dreams and eventually my live for Star Wars nowadays
They don't get credit for that though thats Lucas spending time and money training Hayden and McGregor and everyone else to be legit theatrical swordsmen and bring jedi martial arts to life. Even in ahsoka you can see the anankin fights are kinda bottlenecked because Rosario Dawson isn't fast enough to keep up with Hayden.
I don’t care what anyone says about the Obi-Wan series. The final fight was worth watching it through. The best and most emotional duel in a long time.
THANK YOU, i definitely felt like they should have included more tones that called back to the Battle of the heroes soundtrack from Ep 3. You have made my night!
The fact that anakin/Vader didn’t consider obi wan at fault for his fall is sad for both of them. Underneath anakins pain and hatred he knew obi wan tried his best and really did love him as a brother with nothing but high hopes for his happiness and successes in life.
"I will do what I must." "Then you will die." Just like his duel with Ahsoka. They could never reach him to redeem him because they were reminders of his past.
You know, the bad reviews and negative opinions have greatly lowered my expectations for the final duel. Like many of us, I guess. Perhaps that is why we received so much enthusiasm from the final duel. Either way, this duel, regardless of the premise, is exciting, as is the heartbreaking conversation that follows. You should never bury a show before the climax - it will still surprise you.
I love how the actual music from the scene sounds like a broken version of the Anakin vs obi wan soundtrack showing Anakin is broken as Vader and obi wan is broken from seeing what his best friend and brother has become
Could you imagine at 0:50 had Vader asked Obi Wan if he really thought he could destroy him and Obi Wan just responding "Let's find out!" And charges while swinging his saber ?
Please please PLEASE Kim. I need this duel's music combined with the Malenia's theme from Elden Ring. It just gives me that exact vibe at the beginning.
im gonna say it, imo battle of the heroes is goated but I think it enhances it only being in Obi vs Ani's Mustafar fight, since that was such a massive and grand fight, it fits with the powerful swells in music, this sounds absolutely amazing btw. Mixed beautifully!
Darth Vader never let go of his past, the memory of dueling with Obi-Wan on Mustafar forever haunts him. Not even some sincere apologies from Obi-Wan after 10 years could help with it.
I was looking for this theme. I typed "Obi Wan vs Darth Vader Theme 2022" And I saw Samuel Kim's video. To quote the classic "Shut up and take my money"
This is amazing, truly living up to the epic in the title! A little bit of Battle of the Heroes, a smidge of Duel of the Fates, and an amazing song that fit a duel that made the waterworks come. A round of applause, Samuel! Only John Williams himself could've made it any better!❤
I sincerely hope that when Mando and Kenobi and Boba Fett are like the prequels are now, this piece rises to the level of Duel of the Fates and Battle of the Heroes, because it is a really good theme. (By the way I apologize if I used the wrong spelling of "theme")

When you realize Anakin is still within Vader when he says "I'm not your failure Obi-Wan....you didn't kill Anakin Skywalker...I did"
Then you proceed to cry your eyes out knowing Anakin was always within Vader and had to experience all of the horror, killing, and terror Vader was responsible for with absolutely no power to stop it until Luke turned him in Return of the Jedi.
It wasn't crying because the series was fucking garbage and this moment breaks continuity
This was so cool to hear! The art is amazing as well!
0:51 reminds me of those SWTOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic) battle themes where a choir starts chanting loudly, harmoniously but at the same time menacingly.
This fight was 20 years in the making and it did not disappoint! Was epic and extremely emotional
It was not "20 years in the making". The ROTS Vader vs Obi-Wan duel was the fight that was in the making.
This whole duel literally broke me. I was in tears. Especially when Obi-Wan and Vader started talking to each other at the end. That dialogue, man. THE EMOTIONS. THE TEARS. Ewan and Hayden did so good, I wish we'd gotten more. 😭
And as always, Samuel, you did a masterful job in making me cry listening to this beauty. THANK YOU 😭
Patiently waiting for someone to recut a full version of the fight with this track. 👀 fantastic work mate!
The duel was trash
When Vader said "You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker. I did" I really felt Obi-Wan's heart break
This fight was sold for me when Obi wan used anakins twirl strike on him, TWICE!! And had him on the back foot! They did this fight so perfectly well, I felt like a little kid again! I only wish that the rest of the show could have been handled better, but this duel was perfection.
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to this soundtrack. And rewatched the fight.
"I am not your failure, Obiwan. You didn't kill Anakin Skywalker, I did."
You didnt fail me Obiwan, I failed myself.
I love how the art with the planet is showing how much red there is compared to blue. Showing how much the Empire is growing
Words aren't enough to say what we felt during the duel. It was so epic!
I feel like a lot of people have been hating on the music from the show. Just because it wasn't the music from the prequels doesn't mean it isn't good. Give it some time and we might like it more than we first did.
Do what must be done Lord Vader... do not hesitate, show no mercy
Indeed he didn't. ...When he threw you off that ledge.
@Name bullshit
The scene with Vader and his cracked mask gave me chills man
I wish my Gramps could have seen this series. He such a big Star Wars fan and is the one who got me into the saga.
Man this duel and the confrontation after was truly something special. The voice mixing of Vader and Anakin made it even better. And the blue and red light on his face was such a nice touch. And this piece is trying to epic.
Ik we were all expecting the old music, but I honestly love what we got for the finale
Absolutely love everything, especially the beginning to 0:53. Amazing job!
2:04 this scene is so catchy and exactly that what I have been waiting for since 1999.
Thank you very much
00:50 This is just masterful. The choir to those drums! Outstanding work as usual, SK.
I don’t care what anyone says about the Obi-Wan series. The final fight was worth watching it through. The best and most emotional duel in a long time.
One of the greatest episodes of Star Wars live action tv so far
“have you come to destroy me, Obi Wan?”
“I will do what I must”
*Emotional music plays*
THANK YOU, i definitely felt like they should have included more tones that called back to the Battle of the heroes soundtrack from Ep 3. You have made my night!
The fact that anakin/Vader didn’t consider obi wan at fault for his fall is sad for both of them. Underneath anakins pain and hatred he knew obi wan tried his best and really did love him as a brother with nothing but high hopes for his happiness and successes in life.
3:41 Obi-Wan: "I'm gonna rock you... *LIKE A HURRICANE!!!"*
I fought along side these Jedi before the dark times, before the empire. I never imagined they would fight on different sides
Hey trooper I also fought alongside the jedi I fought alongside anakin Skywalker
"I will do what I must."
"Then you will die."
Just like his duel with Ahsoka.
That final battle was just *chefs kiss* amazing. season 2 has some big shoes to fill.
Why is there a season 2?
@@ZaZi-Zeta01 yeah. Disney confirmed it
@@ajtheva6694 That seems excessive and extremely unecessary, but a'ight
El miedo lleva a la ira, la ira al odio y el odio... lleva al sufrimiento
Sabias palabras, esas son...
“You didn’t kill Anakin skywalker.. I did” - Darth Vader
How...could...it...be...more...epic...than...the..original...version... This is too good.
Legitimately Amazing
I love how the actual music from the scene sounds like a broken version of the Anakin vs obi wan soundtrack showing Anakin is broken as Vader and obi wan is broken from seeing what his best friend and brother has become
Hope this will be on Spotify soon it’s so good
Could you imagine at 0:50 had Vader asked Obi Wan if he really thought he could destroy him and Obi Wan just responding "Let's find out!" And charges while swinging his saber ?
The Battle of the Heroes music is the absolute best part of the prequel trilogy in my opinion. Thank you for making it even more epic!
"Goodbye….Darth" - Left to rot as a failure to your new Master.
I am still amazed we got to see this fight. It's everything I wanted a duel between Obi-Wan and Vader to be. Made me cry so hard
Darth Vader never let go of his past, the memory of dueling with Obi-Wan on Mustafar forever haunts him. Not even some sincere apologies from Obi-Wan after 10 years could help with it.
Great show, great music
I was looking for this theme. I typed "Obi Wan vs Darth Vader Theme 2022" And I saw Samuel Kim's video.
To quote the classic "Shut up and take my money"
As great as this theme is. When you hear the pieces with John William's work you have to think that he is UNBEATABLE.
This is amazing, truly living up to the epic in the title! A little bit of Battle of the Heroes, a smidge of Duel of the Fates, and an amazing song that fit a duel that made the waterworks come. A round of applause, Samuel! Only John Williams himself could've made it any better!❤
excited as always
AWESOME !
I was waiting for this since i have seen the fight.
I've been making a film edit of this series and been waiting for this! This is perfect. Thanks dude. 🖤
The rocks floating with the force theme was a really nice touch.
When i heard the song in the episode i waited for you to make your version. This sounds so good.
@SamuelKim
i need a EPIC Version of the Andors Funeral March at Rix Road (season1 finale) ASAP!
I sincerely hope that when Mando and Kenobi and Boba Fett are like the prequels are now, this piece rises to the level of Duel of the Fates and Battle of the Heroes, because it is a really good theme.
(By the way I apologize if I used the wrong spelling of "theme")
These songs just keep getting better and better. The way Samuel Kim does this just gives me chills.
Really wished battle of the heroes and duel of the fates would be in the show
Say what you want about the show but I think we can all agree the final was perfect and I left it with emotional damage
So true, my lord.
After binging Clone Wars and prequels last episode hits really hard.
This show didn’t get everything right but my god did it nail this fight. Right down to smaller details like Vader switching to a 2-handed grip when he realizes Obi-Wan ain't fucking around this time.
,,Revenge of the Sith" is my favorite SW movie.
“Have you come to destroy me obi wan?”
From "You were my brother Anakin I Loved You"
To "I'm sorry Anakin for all of it"
Yoooo!! This sounds awesome!!! I absolutely love the audio visualizer and the choir sounds breathtaking. Nice work man! You are a legend!!
Gonna be watching episode V and episode VI today now that I’m spending time at my dads. Will listen to this awesome music after. Can’t wait. ⭐️
Phenomenal as always
