I remember an episode when the butler was loading empty pop bottles into their Rolls Royce to redeem them for cash....Great show....

Wow watching that loading up of the Rolls-Royce with empty bottles that's sound so hilarious to watch. and Phyllis Diller can pull it off... Sad I never got a chance to see this. She was such a hoot.. too bad the series had a short run for how long did it go for. Thank you for putting this up for us to enjoy

@@georgeplagianos6487 I think for one season. It was re-tooled part way through to improve ratings. I used to watch it but my memory is hazy because I was only a child. I would love to see it again.

From the 1966 ABC fall preview presentation (presented exclusively before an audience of local affiliate managers and other network personnel). The cast included Grady Sutton {"Sturgis"}, Reginald Gardiner (as "Uncle Ned"), Chris Noel [as "Stephanie" {replaced in the series by Pam Freeman}], and Richard Deacon as "Mr. Baldwin". John McGiver guest starred as "General Cannon".

Part of the premise of the series was that it would cause a national crisis in confidence if the public found out the Pruitts were broke, so the federal government maintained them in an an illusion. Outwardly they were still the wealthiest family in the country, even while they were living in only a few rooms in the mansion and doing their own housework.

Sounds like what's going on in real life minus government complicity

There was a neighbor we had named Phyllis. I called her Phyllis Diller and she got mad!

Don’t remember this show at all. I mean I was only 2 but you’d think I remember it. LOL!!! This was a time when television was huge and there only 3 channels. The mid 60’s and 70’s were an awesome time for television. It was appointment television. You HAD to be there to watch it or you’d have to wait until summer reruns. Good times.

painful unfunny... sad because the premise is perfect. the theme song is genius.
