OMFG. How in the hell could any cream possibly cost that much??? Why didn't your doctor warn you about the cost? Thank you for filming today in spite of this. 💜
I'm wondering if it wasn't on her insurances formulary so even though the pharmacy ran it through her insurance they didn't pay. If that's the case she can have her Dr contact the insurance letting them know that this is what will work for her and try to get the insurance to cover it.
@@inthrutheoutdoor5849 The doctor probably had no idea what the drug cost. They usually don't, since it varies according to your insurance. Not her fault.
Coco, A) hang in there. You're a bright spot for a lot of people in this troubled time. B) everyone, always ask what the price is WITHOUT insurance. There are people who make big bucks negotiating and setting prices that insurance pays. Often those prices are HIGHER than if you paid regular price out of pocket. Unfortunately, some pharmacies are under contract NOT to disclose that price. It's another stupid part of the effed up healthcare system.
7,700 dollars for a tube of cream? That's a *lot* of panettone. Seriously, hope your doctor provides you with a more reasonably priced alternative, and that you get well soon! In these difficult days, your videos are like rays of pure sunshine. Thank you ❤️ Stay safe and awesome!
Coco, Thanks for walking the walk, and not just talking the talk. I appreciate you showing how to stay focused on gratitude after a disappointment. Take care!
Coco... you alone are helping me/us to get through this. Don’t stop your daily words... many need you now in the best way you know how. Our community adores you.
I just love this beautiful series. They’ve all been wonderful but this one really struck a nerve. I lost my job at the beginning of this crisis and I currently don’t have any insurance. So it’s a very scary tune, especially with this virus and knowing I could probably not even afford the necessary care if I were to get sick. The thought of it absolutely terrifies me. So I totally get how you felt when you saw that price. It’s an absolute outrage. Then when you showed us the Rose, it made me think of my parents, who grew over 200 rose bushes in our backyard when I was growing up. They always make me think of them. So thank you for that sweet memory. ❤️❤️
Get some Lucas’ Paw Paw Ointment for your lip and massage some lavender oils or tiger balm into your temples for your headaches! Keep your chin up! Love from Ozxxxx
Your headache, the split lip, both sound like you're dehydrated. Drinking enough water? And remember, green and black teas are dehydrants. Adoring you!
Your lip cream story reminded me of the (not so) little thing that is definitely a big thing that I'm so, so grateful for, our NHS. THANK YOU TO ALL OUR NHS WORKERS WE ARE SO VERY GRATEFUL. 💕💕💕
Thank you so much for doing these small videos. I just realized these videos that you are making are my big things. I would of lost my mind by now, but these videos give me something to look forward to each day. So again, thank you.
It occurred ta me after watching the first few of these, I said to myself, "if she does enough of these her next show is already written. I have the whole show in my head, the set, just gawgus, the costumes, the cast (a small ensemble) you of course are the star narrating the whole thing. So uh cal new mayge. Oh and the merch...... ❤️
Call your drug insurance, this happened to me. Dr put me on a non formulary drug and Ins wouldn’t cover it. I just had to provide paperwork to my health ins and drug ins covered it. Any non formulary drug you usually pay full price- especially if they considered it an elective or cosmetic cream. If your dr can show a history of the other drug not working, she may be able to submit to Ins it is a medical necessity and get it covered. I was an account executive in health insurance for 10 yrs. I know the game.
Holy fk... 😂 hahaha I would’ve told her... “Listen Love, you may phone me an ambulance 🚑 cause I’m think I’m gonna have a heart attack” 😂 hahaha £7k 😂 haha You should ring your doctor and tell them that, they definitely missed the calling cause at that price, they should’ve been on a stage” Smh 🤦♀️ Good Joke 👍 Sure what the hell... why not just push the boat out and order 2 😉 lol 💚 xx
Love you, Coco! Hope your lip gets better. That price for the cream is ridiculous! Thank you for keeping us all looking on the bright side during this dark time. ❤️❤️❤️
That bothers me. I’m sorry that you went through that nonsense. Are freaking telling me that the doctor didn’t know the price of the cream before ordering it up?! Frankly, it might be time for a new doctor. How frustrating. That is a beautiful rose. Thanks for sharing.
I'm outraged to hear about the cost of that cream! I'm so very grateful, that I live in England, where we don't pay for medicines, doctors, and specialist doctors, medical procedure, and operations. I'm grateful that you're feeling better, for your beautiful rose, and for your daily videos. May I suggest, you try apply honey on your lip, as it's a natural antiseptic and helps to heal wounds. Love you lovely Coco 🌺💜
I’m not religious as such, but God bless you for sharing this story. It’s so honest, why am I surprised? I’m in London UK, I have Fibromyalgia, it’s awful, but you made me so much better today, you have made my day perfect. ❤️
Hey Coco! Just a quick thank you for being the fabulous human being you are. I'm a trans woman who has been following you for years. Some manufacturers give rebates that cover almost the entire amount of these exoribtant medications. Google them and see if they offer anything. I had the same experience last year; quite a shock at first but I registered with the pharmaceutical company and they sent me a card that pays for everything my insurance doesn't. Love this series btw- bless you for sharing every day!
Since vitamin B also contributes to healthy skin, a deficiency can cause a variety of skin problems such as acne, split lips, dryness, and rashes. Low levels of zinc and iron can also lead to split lips, especially at the corners of the mouth.
Im so sad you are feeling sad :( you give so much goodness to us who follow you. I sent you blessings. I have the same problem and i look it up that one possible cause is due to a lack of vitamin B, i still have to check with my dr tho if this is true🤭 Much love from Veracruz, Mexico 💖🙏
Jesus christ....7,000 georgies.....for real...I am with you girl! Coco that rose is a stunner! Your are beautiful in ever way one can be...atleast I laughed a little...cause coco i went to the grocery today and many were wearing masks and colorful bandanas over the face..now coco months ago if you saw someone with a bandana you were getting robbed or a store...! We are already on #14 "While In Solitude" and, I ❤ each and every one of your positive messages to help us get through these trying times. We love you Miss Coco Peru🙏
Damn, that cream is the cost of a flippin face lift. I would imagine, if I knew what the market runs for a face lift. Anyhow, hang in there! We love you! Thank you for sharing your stories. Your rose is absolutely beautiful! 🌹🌹🌹
One thing you can be grateful for is that pharmacist. She did sound rather lovely and understanding. And be grateful you know who to call when you have a split lip - which by the way -- I GET THAT, TOO!!! It's the worst! Now when I get that, I just keep a tiny tube of Neosporin in my pocket wherever I go until it's fully healed, applying a little dab to my lip every hour or two.
Even if someone COULD afford that medication - no one should pay a price so absurd! I hope the doctor just didn't know about the ridiculous price, because it's not very nice to make you go out into the danger zone for your prescription, only to be put on the spot like that. But on the flipside - what a truly perfect rose that just bloomed in your garden!
I went 40 years of my life with very dry skin that would crack and flake and after seeing several dermatologists and being prescribed all kinds of expensive creams that never worked, the last dermatologist tells me confidentiality that I should just use plain old Vaseline petroleum jelly in the big tub. She said its much cheaper than any prescription and works better. Sure enough she was absolutely right and after using it every day my skin has greatly improved. I thought, how crazy is it that no doctor could tell me this decades ago. I’ve never been so thankful that someone was honest with me and cut through all the medical profiteering.
LORDY! that is obscene! who is making money on that prescription???? I love that rose...in my neck of the wood, I am watching the last of the snowpack melt...and in the little patch of wild garden on the side of the building... little red noses are peeking out. This is the rhubarb an old tenant gave me 15 years ago. I remember him very vividly...a kind and gentle soul, long gone now. Thank you, John... you are remembered.
I love that you are doing these.. it's so nice to have something to look forward to :-) it really helps. . Ask the the Doctor if she has any samples. . That's what I have to do ..:-) and thanks again for the videos. . I love me some Coco:-)
Both I and my mom have prescriptions for minor issues that are supposed to cost thousands. Doctors have more influence than we know sometimes. Keep asking her about ways around it Coco. Surely not everyone using that medicine is paying that price. Splendid blossom!
Hey coco I read an article that said people who have issues with dry lips were low in vitamin B2. I've been taking it for several weeks and its helped tremendously. Try it!
We need tension tamer tea by the gallon to get through this mess
A $7,000 + lip cream! That is beyond offensive! Our healthcare system needs a drag makeover...
I don’t understand why a dermatologist would ever suggest that without giving a heads up - I mean, that is nearly $10,000 in CDN. Wow! I would faint!
OMFG. How in the hell could any cream possibly cost that much??? Why didn't your doctor warn you about the cost? Thank you for filming today in spite of this. 💜
Tara Charnow Right?!? What the hell was the cost of it WITHOUT the insurance?!?!?
I'm wondering if it wasn't on her insurances formulary so even though the pharmacy ran it through her insurance they didn't pay. If that's the case she can have her Dr contact the insurance letting them know that this is what will work for her and try to get the insurance to cover it.
I have to agree, your Dr is very irresponsible. 7K and she didn't tell you about it?
Doctors assume you have insurance for everything and they don't usually prescribe generic unless you ask.
@@inthrutheoutdoor5849 The doctor probably had no idea what the drug cost. They usually don't, since it varies according to your insurance. Not her fault.
THANK You so much for all of your suppressive comments! So grateful! xoxo
Over $7,000????? Wtf? You made the correct choice and “Perverted” is an apt description!!
7000 dollars is actually upsetting my stomach
Coco,
A) hang in there.
Topher S Right. And check GoodRX for the price at other nearby pharmacies. I was shocked to learn how drastically it can vary for my own meds.
Call the Doctor and ask for a sample of this Rx or something less expensive.
That is a very good suggestion Frank. Often doctors will have samples of very expensive creams.
For $7,000 they better guarantee you will have lips like Angelina Jolie!
I betcha Angelina has trouble with that deep cleft in the center of her bottom lip.
Aleksa Milićević that’s a lot of panettone!!!😂😂😂👍🏼👌🏼
If you don't mind, Aleksa Milićević, I think I'm going to start using "That's a lot of pannetore" as my personal catch phrase.
@@kurttrue2198 Feel free 😄

Hang in there Miss Coco.
When your sitting here alone feeling its the end times you look at that rose your voice your compassion is that rose to me.
Coco,
Thanks for walking the walk, and not just talking the talk. I appreciate you showing how to stay focused on gratitude after a disappointment. Take care!
When u said expensive I was expecting $70 not $7000! that's crazy! hope the cream u have starts working better soon!
I was guessing around $125 .....wtf?
I was going to guess $700. I know the American health system is horrific but this just brought a whole new meaning to horrific.
Wade Womersley I’m from the uk. So it’s just shocking to hear prices for some stuff like health care
