I have been watching you two for years and I can honestly say in my opinion nobody does it better. I really look forward to everything y’all put out! Thank you. 🥃Cheers
They did say “relatively well priced” in the intro. They might be right but $100 for a bottle of bourbon to be considered “relatively well priced” is wild to me. Wasn’t long ago I could walk into any store and buy a case of Eagle Rare for $29.99/bottle or a 13-15 year old KC store pick for $39.99. I get that we are in different times now, but with that as perspective $100 is wild to me.
I would put your guys's picks up there! I now have 4 of them; bourbon, american whiskey, cobbler, and rye. All are fantastic gents! Keep up the great work 👏
Great bottles! Agree on the New Riff SB’s! I got one about 1.5 years ago and one about a month ago and they are both great pours! I also picked up their 8yr bourbon and rye and they are terrific as well! Cheers!
Another great video. A couple of us sat down last night and binged watched your channel. We hope to be able to run into you at our common favorite shop!
MGP is putting out very unremarkable bourbon these days. For $60 I’m walking past every Penelope and reaching straight for a standard release Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel.
Heart Release is still sitting on shelves... like... everywhere... It's definitely available. They did two, or maybe three, batches. 111.7 proof April batch and a 112 proof June batch for sure. And it is a fantastic bottle.
I’m pretty sure NR shelf SB are around 4yrs. For instance If you buy/pick a 1/4 barrel (which we know are 4yrs) they just throw the rest of it out on market as shelf SB. 6 year picks are not a rumor. Matter a fact I’m scheduled to pick a 6yr rye Feb 21
No sagamore bottles is criminal, maybe they’re not as easy to get outside of MD, but every single bottle I’ve had from them have been solid, the 9yr is awesome
If I was to guess, I bet they just thought Sagamore was a little more of a known quantity at this point. A small handful of their products like small batch and double oaked I think are pretty widely available now
! and 2 are my 1and 2. Really liked the double oaks this year with 1910 and Woodford a lot as always. But those 2 were on top for me. The New Riff kind of had a similar profile to me of the other two, but my palates been jacked with a long term sinus infection. All wonderful though. Great list. Couple I need to try.
The problem about picks is that over the past year competition for picks became very extremely challenging financially as for most picks you're only guaranteed with a 25$ and up monthly subscription and delivery cost which takes a lot of picks out of budget friendly
Love the video, just not paying a lot for any bottle of bourbon. I have the New Riff SB and the Green River FP, love them both, especially the Green River, have the rye, bourbon and wheater as well, all great
You must review the new walleye run line from new holland.. the flagship $50 92 proof rye is fantastic. The wheat is an older higher proof origin bonded and also fantastic
I picked one up about two months ago at Seelbach’s online. I gave my store owner friend a sample and now he keeps the standard and cask strength in stock. I’m in central California. Keep trying, it’s a nice pour! Good luck!
Did anybody’s New Riff SB have a strong mint taste? Don’t remember it having that flavor when I first opened it, but it had changed when I went back to it.
I'll play you both in a scramble on your golf simulator for a bottle of whiskey. I lose, I pay. A little revenge jab fpr the Little Book Infinite slap on whiskey of the year.
It’s funny because I love other Makers Mark Cask Bourbons, but this has to be my least favorite Bourbon I’ve ever had. The first bottle I had was so bad I poured it out. I thought it was just a bad bottle. I thought I’d try it again, and it was just as horrible. I’m not sure what t is, but it’s the only Makers Mark I absolutely hate.
This was, ironically, a nice review of UN-available bourbon for we Virginians. 😮 UN-f’ing-available. Only two bottles even exist in the Virginia ABC system: Green River Full Proof and Makers 46 Cask Strength. Hardly any of the former in the system, but at least they’re there. Do have Makers 46 CS around, only 2-4 bottle in a given store (not mine…). At least give us an actually available/affordable list of traditional value actually no-S-ALWAYS available bourbons such as Rare Breed, JDSBBP, 1910/20, OGD114 to measure these against! I may go out and snap up a (only 2 in my area) MM46CS, though, so I have that one 🦄 from this list going for me, which is nice… 😊
Green River & New Riff are making good juice!
100% agree. Also Sagamore. These 3 distilleries are my new expressions. I can't tell you how good they are and they are $50-$100 each.
Soooo we're not going to say anything about Dan's hair?
I was thinking the same thing! Dude buy a hat already
genuine question what’s wrong with his hair? 😅
Looks fine to me…little messy maybe
dude has got the fall out boy shit going on, i love it
Who slapped the sense back into him!!???!!!???
It’s like watching a whole new video!
James E Pepper barrel proof was my favorite surprise shelf available bourbon last year.
I have been watching you two for years and I can honestly say in my opinion nobody does it better. I really look forward to everything y’all put out! Thank you. 🥃Cheers
Love the opening dialogue & Sean starts with GTS. All New Riff expressions I've bought are home runs. Great available picks.
Would be great to see a "what we are excited for in 2025" video
The fact that $100 is now the criteria for “available” bourbon is wild.
They didn't say affordable
They did say “relatively well priced” in the intro. They might be right but $100 for a bottle of bourbon to be considered “relatively well priced” is wild to me. Wasn’t long ago I could walk into any store and buy a case of Eagle Rare for $29.99/bottle or a 13-15 year old KC store pick for $39.99. Green river full proof lived up for me, great value and delicious 🍻
Agree with you guys on Smoke eye hill. I would add KC 12 and Still Austin Cask Strength
Makers cask strength is what i drank when My dad was in hospice, there are 2 more on my shelf
MMCS is my go to daily sipper. So good and always available
Green river single barrel is right next to the full proof, and the rye is nice
You guys are so right that Backbone Bourbon is a solid bottle.
Smokeye Hill is the bomb. Have three! Love the New Riff SB and have several. Also love the Backbone Uncut. This video nails it.
I would put your guys's picks up there! I now have 4 of them; bourbon, american whiskey, cobbler, and rye. All are fantastic gents! Keep up the great work 👏
I bought two of the Penelope 9 years and found a Specs pick for 10 year, they are so good
I got my Stagg bottle for $170 from my favorite liquor store. I'm a good customer and she rewarded me this year!
Great bottles! Agree on the New Riff SB’s! I got one about 1.5 years ago and one about a month ago and they are both great pours! I also picked up their 8yr bourbon and rye and they are terrific as well! Cheers!
I appreciate that you started the episode with the Michigan company New Holland.
Another great video. A couple of us sat down last night and binged watched your channel. We hope to be able to run into you at our common favorite shop!
Bardstown high wheat should definitely be on this list at $50
Green RIver Wheated..., best one under $50 bucks.
MGP is putting out very unremarkable bourbon these days. For $60 I’m walking past every Penelope and reaching straight for a standard release Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel.
I DO NOT get the Penelope love….
I had the Maker’s 46 cask strength and it was incredible!
New Riff, you're welcome
Sean that was dirty!
Green River just started distribution in my state, and very excited to have it. Great budget friendly bottles.
Heart Release is still sitting on shelves... like... everywhere...
It's definitely available. They did two, or maybe three, batches. 111.7 proof April batch and a 112 proof June batch for sure.
And it is a fantastic bottle.
I liked the heart release but how much I hate standard 46 keeps me from trying the cask strength
A comment here for Sean
I’m pretty sure NR shelf SB are around 4yrs. For instance If you buy/pick a 1/4 barrel (which we know are 4yrs) they just throw the rest of it out on market as shelf SB.

No sagamore bottles is criminal, maybe they’re not as easy to get outside of MD, but every single bottle I’ve had from them have been solid, the 9yr is awesome
Agreed! Have a 9 yr open right now and it’s one of my favorites, wish I had a spare.
If I was to guess, I bet they just thought Sagamore was a little more of a known quantity at this point. A small handful of their products like small batch and double oaked I think are pretty widely available now
Bourbon list not rye
@ damn I didn’t even realize that
If you can find it the New Riff 8 year is insanely good for fairly available and priced bourbon
Dragonsmilk... never seen one. 1rst choice makes this list irrelevant. Love you guys.
agree! on that new riff... great bottle!
! and 2 are my 1and 2. Really liked the double oaks this year with 1910 and Woodford a lot as always. But those 2 were on top for me. The New Riff kind of had a similar profile to me of the other two, but my palates been jacked with a long term sinus infection. All wonderful though. Great list. Couple I need to try.
Agree with the backbone picks
BBC High Wheat was my fav newbie this year
MM46 was my entry to bourbon and will always have a special place on my shelf.
The problem about picks is that over the past year competition for picks became very extremely challenging financially as for most picks you're only guaranteed with a 25$ and up monthly subscription and delivery cost which takes a lot of picks out of budget friendly
Hard Truth is killing it!
Pretty sure ya seen the article on the new prohibition collection
Bardstown Wheated was a great value @$46
New Holland Zeppelin Blend is pretty good too.
Love the video, just not paying a lot for any bottle of bourbon. I have the New Riff SB and the Green River FP, love them both, especially the Green River, have the rye, bourbon and wheater as well, all great
New Riff is amongst my favorite bourbons out there…
My wife isn’t a whiskey drinker but loves New Riff’s Malted Rye.
No JDSBBP?
We get a ton of Peach Rings on the Dragons Milk Bonded. Cheers 🥃
Smokeye Hill is super delicious
That new riff single barrel didn’t last the weekend. It’s so freaking yummy!!
Eyyy that makers mark is what im drinkin rn, you know if i can find that here in PA it truly is available everywhere
15:13 ....what's the proof!?!
Holladay is great.
Good video as always lads, but ain’t say that Penelope 9 year private select was definitely more like $90 instead of $60 everywhere I looked
Just finished of a Bottle of the New Riff. I like it better than wild Turkey 101
Found that Makers 46 cask for $28…. Obviously took a few at that price.
100% agreed on New Riff picks and Makers 46 Cask. Fellow Michigander here, wanting to die bc of the weather 🫡
do you do cigar pairings for bourbon?
You must review the new walleye run line from new holland.. the flagship $50 92 proof rye is fantastic. The wheat is an older higher proof origin bonded and also fantastic
I have a bottle of that 105 proof single barrel Penelope and it's incredible! In what world is that bottle considered available though???
I agree Have yet to see any Single Barrels
Thoughts on swapping out the Calumet and Sam Houston for Penelope? Bardstown Origin Rye was a great value bottle!
Sean, that GTS comment made me immediately switch to wanting #teamcookie and #teamQ as the new master blenders of EverADHDWhiskey Spirits
You were my favorite, but saying GTS is your available daily of the year makes me realize why you have no chance winning Matt madness
Good luck finding a Smoke eye hill.
I hate Sean for that. #teamDan
was of 1924 not available?
Dan, you look like you just got done saying “happy birthday”
Early Times BiB!!!!
Where you guys finding Penelope PS and SiB for 60/80?
New Holland is available around the country?? Not.
MS doesn’t get em and can’t ship it sucks. Missed out on the Arctic Spirit
I'll play you both in a scramble on your golf simulator for a bottle of whiskey. I lose, I pay. A little revenge jab fpr the Little Book Infinite slap on whiskey of the year.
You can't warm up with GTS for available of the year...
New Riff Single barrel I bought was young and well below average. Maybe I got a dud
Great job boys!! But where in the world are you guys finding Penelope 9yr for $60??? $80 is bottom line I’ve seen.
What about Wild Turkey Jimmy Russell's 70th? Great price and a great version of 101.
Except when the local marks is up to $150
Literally an LE
What about it? It's not readily available.
Yall are missing Dickel 15 year SiB!?!?!
Is your Estate 10yr the 36 or 21% mashbill?
The one's we have had have all been 36% rye.
-5... Lol. That's nothin. It's 39 degrees here in Tampa. WTF?
It was -20 two nights ago up here. It's a blast being in MI sometimes...
39 degrees in Iowa would be a heat wave right now
they forgot about benchmark I guess NERDS
Available? George t stagg? Hahahahahahahaha found one at $899. NOT
I hate Sean for that haha
I hate Sean. Nothing to do with that..... Please dont fire me
I seem to be the only one who hates new riff 🤷♂️
Boys, get yourselves a nap
It’s funny because I love other Makers Mark Cask Bourbons, but this has to be my least favorite Bourbon I’ve ever had. The first bottle I had was so bad I poured it out. Sean flashes his Rolex to homeless dudes sitting on the street
Estate collection is not available at all!!!
Sean and his inflammatory proactive comment.
Hate from GA
Hate back at ya from IN 😊
😂
Y’all are starting to look like two dudes who drink too much bourbon 😂
MEDIA OFFLINE
Dan: Leave a comment down below if you hate Shawn for that. Nope, don't hate him for that, just all the other douchey things he does.
Available but ... sorry $70-$100 is no kind of "value"

Rare Breed, JDSBBP, 1910/20, and OGD114 are all good and definitely available.
Someone looks like they just rolled out of bed after an all nighter!
