    The nanite reductions on vehicles is nice as in catering to the diversity in their player base. Some are odd and doesn’t make much sense. It makes more sense for engineers to be able to purchase A-V grenades as default. I also think the sidearm primaries should be open to all as default. Could be fun and allow for more creativity for newer players.

      Meh, sidearm primaries is pretty niche.
      On the whole, I'd like to see ASP turn into a purely cosmetic system, and have all loadout perks made default.

    SMG for Light Assault is almost a straight upgrade. For a little more time to tug out of your pocket and reload, it's got plenty more ammo, far faster to kill compared to most ES pistols and the Punisher in particular solves a lot of problems with using Drifters especially if you don't have Fortuna or Catlike and need less vertical than Impulse grenades.
    Carrying AV nades and shotguns is fun as an Engineer. Using Shortbow/Baron with rapid switch from Comfort Grips is actually quite fun, especially when you can chunk vehicles at close range. Bionics/ASC/Aux Shield also offers a surprising amount of leeway as you load more shotgun shells too!

      Disagreed on SMG LA. It's more of a playstyle change, imo. You lose the equip speed of a pistol, so depending on how aggressive you play, it can get you killed.

    One thing that wasn't mentioned was that the secondary weapons allow for some more specialized primary weapon selects. You touched on it with Engineer with the Archer, but theres more to it, Medic's long range capability with the scout rifles is secured, so the could put a shotgun or SMG in their primary. For HA's heavy weapon secondary its kinda dependent on the faction...NC and VS heavy weapons are kinda specialized, so they might want to bring along a more versatile LMG, but TR's heavy weapon "acts" like a weird short range LMG of sorts...so they would probably bring along a Scout Rifle in their primary.
    I would also note that 'while its not great' its possible to use the comfort grip on most shotguns, allowing for weapon swaps to be very quick. I say its not very good because I ASPd, went engi with shotgun secondary, and haven't looked back. The "new" laser just feels too smooth to not use, and the comfort grip causes your vertical recoil to feel like your screen is instantly teleporting 2 inches up with every shot, making it very hard to track your target.

    LMGs do make sense on Engies and it's not a flavor playstyle kind of deal. LMGs in general have much larger magazines which can be a life-saver in point holds, or during a MAX crash when you're constantly repairing while pushing forward and don't have the time to reload. With new nerfs that will drastically reduce the use of MAX crash tactics we're going to see an even heavier shift towards Medics and HA though so LMGs and Engies in general won't be as useful anymore.

    • @yanlexi
      @yanlexi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Counter: They usually have less DPS, especially in close-range situations that you might find yourself in. In addition, carbines tend to have quick reloads, versus LMGs which can take anywhere from 4 to 7 seconds.
      That said, Betel Engy on VS is pretty funny.

    • @dalentces2492
      @dalentces2492 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yanlexi Counter on my part: i don't think ASP grants you access to directive weapon class rewards but I might be wrong, but 143dmg/750rpm model is available to LMGs in the form of MSWR, Orion and CARV and that's enough to be viable in close quarters plus both the MAX crash and the pointhold scenarios aren't 1v1 ones most of the time. NC on the other hand get an alpha damage focused SAW with the highest DMG per magazine of all non-directive weapons.
      But as I've said all of this won't matter as much after the MAX nerf.

    • @yanlexi
      @yanlexi  ปีที่แล้ว

      ASP used to block directive rewards, it doesn't anymore. Betel gets you a shitton of sustain while maintaing 750/143.

      @@yanlexi you're joking right, I can use Betel on my engi? I know where my second ASP goes after unlocking Heavy Wep for my HA first if that's true.

    What would be an asp point you'd like to see put in the game?

    • @yanlexi
      @yanlexi  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd like to see it entirely reworked into a purely cosmetic system. Delete the nanite discounts, and give all other perks to all characters.

  • @dalentces2492
    @dalentces2492 ปีที่แล้ว

    Correction. You don't get ASP points for level 1 on ASP2 (second ASP run). Not sure about ASP3 but I'm guessing it's the same deal. So you need to subtract those from the total mentioned in this video and plan accordingly

    • @yanlexi
      @yanlexi  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, my bad. I assumed it would be the same (why wouldn't it?) so 13 instead of 15.

    • @Harmsxway
      @Harmsxway ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that was definitely something they stealth patched in, or its a glitch (who knows with these devs). My first character to ASP 2 got the point at BR1 but not for ASP 3. It wasn't until I hit ASP 2 on a second character that I realized my first character was unique.

      @@ssss-kg7wz Yeah. Points on 1/25/50/75/100, and then on ASP 2 & 3 give points on 25/50/75/100. 13 points in total.

    Hello its me again :D so dont look at "potential" cause you have best potential playing in the tank as Heav or as MAx. As a Medic player I really recommend getting carabines on Medic cause most of them are solid picks especially Bandit, GD 7f, AC-X11, Razor, Charger, Rouge, Trac burst, Lynx, T5 AMC, Jaguar, Coguar, Serpent, VX6-7, Zenith, Pulsar C , Tanto, NS-11c and Horizon you can shred with them. This combos are not cringe they are just good. Imagine having Gauss Saw, Carv, Rhino or Maw while siting on point or even beeing in the big fight while playing Engi do I need to say something more? Man I really dont get you sometimes did you even played with Jackhammer? its the best secondary you can have on Heavy and Chaingun is little worse but you can use it as another LMG Lasher is cool for holding angles but in cqc quick moment you are gonna lose often.

    • @yanlexi
      @yanlexi  ปีที่แล้ว

      i don't disagree there are a few good carbines, but generally ARs are great and outside of some GD-7F exceptions it's not a particularly valuable pick
      as for heavy weapon secondary, sure, having a pocket lasher etc is great, but you're giving up your panic option. if you get caught out on a reload or in a bad spot, you can't swap to a pistol and burst the guy - your equip time will get you killed with a jackhammer etc
      at the end of the day they're your points, i just don't find them super useful

    • @mrtchicc6837
      @mrtchicc6837 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yanlexi well if you think the carabines aren't great I guess no of my points will hit you cause you definitely didn't played with them or you can't use them
      For the heavy if you dont think that massive posibility for killing few more people is worse than quickly killing one guy is funny for me cause quickly zig zag isn't that hard and you can easily run from most od the panic situations

    • @yanlexi
      @yanlexi  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have completed the carbine directive on two different factions and have auraxiumed 13 of them.
      They're good weapons but for most situations the ARs outperform them, barring close quarters options. I'm not saying you can't take the perk - just I don't feel it's valuable.
      Lasher opens up area denial on VS, but Jackhammer and Chaingun are gimmick weapons and largely outperformed by LMGs. They're nice to have, sure, but you'll get more performance out of a pistol.

      it was cancer, you'd go up a gravlift and get killed by 4 spitfires and 2 engineers preaimed at you. they can still do this now, but you need 4 Engineers to do it, it was annoying.
