Very good video. Very insightful. I've never seen anyone take apart a Mac World keynote and find so many untold stories about future features. Great job!
I'm so sorry for all of the rude, irrisponsible comments people have put on here. The iPhone, whether or not its good or not, is nevertheless something this man has spent time to break down to his viewers, and although I myself don't have one, I think it was very kind and generous of him to share his knowledge. If you don't like the iPhone, write a letter to apple, instead of verbally abusing a youtuber who was just trying to help.
this was a real eyeopener! just last night I saw it for the first time and today it is all I can think about. for me video revealed the true hypnotizing scandel behind the iphone. Even after this eye-opening video I still have 2 have it...it's sad, but true.
Cool follow up vid on this amazing device. Haven't decided if I'm going to shell out the dough for one of these baby's yet. I'll probably wait a few months to see if the pricing comes down a bit. Which I'm sure it will.
I bet "the reason it hasn't been decided yet" is because Apple wants to let you use your songs, but Cingular wants to charge for ringtones. Just a guess, but it make sense to me for what each of them would stand to get out of it.
Very well informed observations. The iPhone will definitely be setting the pace for consumer-level cell phones and further solidifying Apple's iTunes ecosystem.
The press were given an iPhone to test drive so they can write a review of the iPhone. Of the major reporters who wrote articles after field testing the iPhone, they all commented on how scratch resistant the entire iPhone is, even when they leave it in their pockets/purses (unprotected) along with coins, keys and whatever else they normally carry. So it is more durable than one would expect from something that appears to be so fragile.
Another possible feature I noticed during the Keynote that hasn't yet been discussed: When doing a three-way phone call, the "Merge Calls" button became the "Add Calls" button with the symbol of a plus sign on there. Logic suggests that this will enable you to add people to your existing conversation, like a chat room. Does this potentially mean we can have four-, five-, even ten-way phone calls?
That was really great. i really like the ringtone one, only thing is that if they sold ringtones they would have to be significantly cheaper than a song and be longer than the 30 second rpeview of every song itunes offers.
Good vid! I've been looking for what type of data plan ATT will sell you for the iPhone and can't find one. I'm guessing that ATT will have to config a seperate plan for the iPhone. Lots of bandwidth sucked up by this thing for clarity to meet Apple's specs, no? Thoughts?
i work for at&t no pouch when you purchase it. about the other stuff we were told that it will only respond when you touch screen but then again we are not told much about this phone
i have an iphone, it is not easily scratch. the ringtone i will look forward on how to set it up too. i dislike it at first but i hope they do.. so i am going to check this.
I use super clear shipping tape to protect my phone and iPod screens. It's a pain in the ass to apply without bubbles, and even worse taking it off, but it protects the screen, it's cheap, and I only have to mess with it a couple of times a year.
Is this phone going to come with some sort of pouch or something to put the phone in. Like other touch phones, is this one going to go on the net or call someone by mistake? is there some sort of guard on it to disable the phone so it cant call out?
lovely and smart and i hate the idea that i need 2 buy a ring tone...? and any one know if i can install adobe reader for example.. that is very imoptent..
good catch on the calendar and ringtones. but why would you have some crappy muzak ringtone when you could have it play the actual song. seems kind of backwards to me.
I've got to say, he's got a point. Don't get me wrong, I have an iPod and love it, but I only bought one because it was the only player that could play my protected music files from iTunes! I loved my creative zen and It could do everything the 5th gen iPod could. Steave Jobs banks on the fact that the i-line of products have become a hit, and he most def. is setting things up so he gets more cash flow down the line (like the whole ringtone thing,
My choice was a baby Macbook now and an iPhone in June. Not sorry yet. The Macbook is great. Just the welcome surprise of 2-finger scrolling and trackpad input on the Macbook is a HUGE leap forward in interface quality. If that's so huge in a laptop, what will it be in a portable-internet-email-phone?
It would be pretty limited without the ability to use one's own ring tones. Most Smart Phones allow one to use open source MP3 and or Midi ring tones or you can create your own.You can still buy ring tones if you want though one's network provider. But you can also share ring tones. Existing Smart phones are not generally locked up.
Though I love my LG 8100, especially since I can use it's flash as a flashlight, I do hope the shine isn't weakened by Verizon and that the battery life is better than what LG puts out.
What about the battery being soldered in? If you have a problem with the battery, you have to send the whole phone in. If you need a new battery, same thing plus the battery is $80. I think I'll wait 6 months until it's been "consumer tested" and improved upon.
The symbol on the right in the calendar application looks like a bed, to show hotels, hostels and so on -- while the symbol on the left looks like a knife and a fork to show dining places.
one thing they never mention is that you cannot mms (picture message) on this its all done by email so in order to receive or send a pic message you have to email. If your thinking of purchasing this phone and unlocking it good luck because there will not be any subsidy codes for this device at all. So if you have tmobile service and try to use it with a tmobile sim all that you will have is a 500 ipod.
Very good video. Very insightful. I've never seen anyone take apart a Mac World keynote and find so many untold stories about future features. Great job!
Good job! It's nice to see your point of view some of the components of the iPhone
looks like you put a hell lot of work into this.
Thanks for posting it!! it's really good!
Wow, quite amazing how you figured that out! Very informative video. Thanks for that!
Excellent video, well researched and well presented 10/10

Excellent video, it answered a few questions I had. Thanks!
'geeky' is just another word for specific or clear. This was a very clear explanation of what did/did not quite happen.
Great Video, nice info for those not keeping up with this iPhone thing but still want one.
I agree
Finally, a person who understands.
Thanks! I'm waiting for it. Glad to have more info.
Nice sleuthing. I don't really like the iPhone, but you did a good job of exploring some hidden features.
its amazing how much stuff you picked up especially the ringtones idea

Nice work ACTV, getting a shit load of views now Seth! Thanks for this and your work on MC360 and XBMC!

Nice analysis. Those are some features some people would have never seen

This was incredibly interesting.
Excellent reporting!
Hey, I've always wondered why Steve didn't show the calendar application, nice job! Also, what the hell happened to our split view mail application?!
Good vid! I've been looking for what type of data plan ATT will sell you for the iPhone and can't find one. I'm guessing that ATT will have to config a seperate plan for the iPhone. Lots of bandwidth sucked up by this thing for clarity to meet Apple's specs, no? Thoughts?

that was really helpful

How did you clean up the video? You mean this particular video featured?
microSD is fine with me cos this way i can use the data in different phones and also with my notebook. what do you mean by "multi-touch capabilities"?
great points and evidence.
lovely and smart and i hate the idea that i need 2 buy a ring tone...? and any one know if i can install adobe reader for example.. that is very imoptent..

"In case you're curious, the events listed are Steve's." THANKS, I have been dying to know what Steve is up too during his day...
Nice job!!!
that icons for directions to places other than houses(restaurants)
Very nice video
hmmm... this got me thinking
because the iphone has internet
will you be able to code on it?
that would be outstanding!
can watch videos using the web browser like on youtube or something?
Genius... pure genius.
@ Gredran
If you're talking about using any mp3 you want as a ringtone...Windows mobile devices have been doing that for years...so get with it...

@joker13384
the phone's out now, dude. the icon is a set of two arrows, one up and one down. Just like the guy said, it toggles direction input.
man this guy is SMART
any1 know when steve jobs will be giving his keynotes this year?
any1 no when will the next iphone come out?

How did you scratch the screen? It's basicly impossible to scratch the screen of the iphone unless you use a diamond or something...
so you can use your songs as ringtones?
wow impressiv work :O
It's not a PDA, the keyboard is more spread out than those, plus iphone supports landscape keyboard if your fingers weigh 50 pounds each
Though I love my LG 8100, especially since I can use it's flash as a flashlight, I do hope the shine isn't weakened by Verizon and that the battery life is better than what LG puts out.
That vid was done nicely. ;)
good job!!
neat, good stuff :)
thanks!

You can see the demo phones phone number in the itunes presentation....
agreed. excellent video.
The button in the upper left for the calendar is a minus sign. In other words, it's the "remove event" button. At least that's what I'm seeing.
what about the 2MP camera...anything?
When will this come out in Germany???
I want it !!!! :D
Awesome mobile phone!!
good video thx
I have a treo 700w and I can do all of these things Mr Jobs speaks of
What happened to the Ringtones section????
if this had video calling capabilities and perhaps a higher megapixel camera, I would want one
otherwise I will stick with my n70
kl tht would be great watching the videos on a brihght big screen im definetly gettin 1 when they come 2 the uk!
good job!
The symbol on the right in the calendar application looks like a bed, to show hotels, hostels and so on -- while the symbol on the left looks like a knife and a fork to show dining places.
