that alabama guy just walking in a blizzard with a raincape, tracking shoes and nothing on the head and still was in good mood at the top. guy is a beast wtf
One, he is probably excited because the South doesn't get snow (winter is too warm). And two, a blizzard is a joke compared to how many tornadoes hit or come near Alabama. He's been preparing his whole life for this moment- The blizzard is scared of him.
One of the most scary moments of my life was getting lost atop a mountain in the middle of a snow storm. I took a few steps away from the cabin, and everything had become white, and nothing but white. Visibility barely a meter in front of me, wind howling, complete isolation, all the steps i had taken behind me, gone. The only reason i managed to make my way back was sheer dumb luck, tripping on a cable that had been laid on the ground from the cabin, on which a former fence had been strung on. I first went the wrong way, found a pole, then made my way back and found the cabin. By the time i was back in, i was already so cold my face had icicles. Snow storms are fraked events to be in. I've done some really bad things in my youth, disregarded common sense many times, broke a few bones, got in some bad ends, but that one time... i genuinely though i'd bought the ticket. :))
❤ have we all. I was just like Shiey when i was young. Checking out old buildings and factories. Most scary part when we went into a abandoned apartment building car garage. It was 4 levels. On the roof level there was a old swimming pool. We went into the change rooms and heard a girl screaming far in the distance. We freaked out and ran like little wussies. We didn’t have a flash light. Smart eh? We did bring BB guns and pellet guns.
Had something similar once while out snowboarding, visibility was still close to 5 meters but that doesnt help when the red flags at the edge of the ravine are spaced out every 15 meters. Slowest but scariest decent of a lifetime

I've always seen people leave comments about how a video like this got them through a day. I always thought they were being melodramatic. But right now I'm going through some of the most difficult and emotionally draining days I've ever experienced, and having this to end the day on is truly a little gem of good in the sea of chaos. It's good to see adventure and others enjoying the world. Thank you and keep at it

i like that actually the skies cleared in the morning so he can climb to the top of the radar for that epic shot , and then back to grey.....like "yeah men...just go for it" (good video, be safe)
This is the first episode I let my 5year old daughter watch, She loves the snow and couldn't keep her eyes off the adventure. This video made her ask questions I've been waiting to answer, When you were climbing she said "I wish I was up there".. I was wondering if she would love trespassing as much as me and this video answered my question. Thank you shiey!
I know it was probably miserable hiking in it but I LOVE rainy weather like this. Watching you on top of the Radar (or any precarious place) always makes my palms sweaty.
i love that Shiey doesn't allow youtube ads he doesn't allow commercialism to be the opening of his video because his videos are all about escaping all of that crap
I love what you said about the weather at the end...all weather is beautiful and offers different experiences. What a great way to look at it! I like that you're trying new stuff lately it's so fun to watch. i'm definietely living for those silly things like the snow test. when you are talking about your expercienes and how you get a new perspective on something because of them.. that's i think the main reason i'm watching you. i also start to see my life in a different way and it's genuinely amazing
13:33 Besides the once again very exciting video, this time especially the philisophical reflection on contentment, appreciation and self-relocation was very inspiring.
Nice to see you've been here! This was a personal discovery from me, from back in 2011. I dubbed it "Echo Base Nordend". Totally unknown at that time to the exploring community. Back then you could just drive up to it and park next to the buildings. Things are always in motion. Funny to see the roof access is still via the climb-out of that top observation cubicle. Good one Shiey!
Snow tip: If you have long laces on your boots, tie them on the outside passing through the sole, around the foot, and then tie them to your ankles, that way if you fall in deep snow you don't lose the shoe, the lace provides leverage to lift it up.
These adventures are so fun to follow. I don’t know how you’re so confident walking along the top of that radar - that’s nuts! Thanks for sharing - be safe, and can’t wait to see where you take us next!
when I stayed outside during my travel in north Italy in the Winter it was rough, couldn't imagine being out in the snowstorm like you guys did. incredible new adventure shiey
Other TH-camrs have also exlored this radar station. The radar dishes and buildings are connected with some kind of tunnel. Kind of tunnel, because they are above the ground and are more like an airport gangway. Maybe you've missed them. As always an amazing video. You are awesome! To me you are the Banksy of the roofing/urbexing community.
@@steveoarrgh4119 Neither of these is a radar station. They were used for radio communication using tropospheric scatter and as an early warning system (It was called ACE High if you want to read more). thats kinda why he does everything, in some of his old video where he talks about his mentality and approach to everything he mentions that he does what he does for the experiences and the thrill, he doesnt have the dream of living till 90, infact he doesnt even believe in the concept of days and years etc. for him its always been and will be all about exploring, documenting his work and experiencing shit and thats what his freedom and illegal freedom is all about.
The sign in 0:30 says "stop! danger of landslides". The refuge is open now, I see on Google Maps. I think they close the road in winter because of snow, but not sure about the motivation.
Great video as always, I just really couldn't help but to also state your exploring partners really need to take your advice and stock up on supplies and clothes/gear. I'm sure they did just fine without it, but never too safe. The trek up the mountains would have been much easier on them if they had proper boots and layers from what I was seeing

Shiey, I been watching you for 2 years now! I love all the adventures, I’m 38, in the states but you take me back to when I was in my 20s in Europe. I loved it. Thank you all so much for these videos, I truly mean it. I’ve had a bad year with some medical things but when your videos pop up I get happy and excited during days when I feel down and depressed, if you’re ever in the United States! Stop by Kentucky! I got a 500 acre farm and would love to have you all! Check mate, you, GIFGAS, Bad cat and Matt! Much love you all
I've always seen people leave comments about how a video like this got them through a day. I always thought they were being melodramatic. But right now I'm going through some of the most difficult and emotionally draining days I've ever experienced, and having this to end the day on is truly a little gem of good in the sea of chaos. It's good to see adventure and others enjoying the world. Thank you and keep at it
God loves you. If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
It's the greatest free gift you could ever possibly receive
Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
@@kiwidubz I am a Christian, but Christians need to be reminded of and encouraged by the gospel too. Thank you
@@DMIwriter God bless you my brother, I hope everything works out 4 you 🙏
i like that actually the skies cleared in the morning so he can climb to the top of the radar for that epic shot , and then back to grey.....like "yeah men...just go for it"
(good video, be safe)
i don't know why but this one felt so OG, maybe because you got Matt and Checkmate with you. Super entertaining!
He climbed up like a maniac. Insane person behavior. We love to see it.
Watching you on top of the Radar (or any precarious place) always makes my palms sweaty.
an unbelievably good content producer. an anarchist who cares more about his audience than possible advertising revenue
i love that Shiey doesn't allow youtube ads he doesn't allow commercialism to be the opening of his video because his videos are all about escaping all of that crap
Your life/creative perspective is boundless and so open. Musically. Cinematographically.
I dig.
I love what you said about the weather at the end...all weather is beautiful and offers different experiences. What a great way to look at it! I agree with you...I live in the US where we get 4 seasons and I never tire of the variety, always something different right around the corner. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Beautiful snowy place
Good one Shiey!
always a good time when shiey uploads, feels like im watching a movie everytime
Snow tip: If you have long laces on your boots, tie them on the outside passing through the sole, around the foot, and then tie them to your ankles, that way if you fall in deep snow you don't lose the shoe, the lace provides leverage to lift it up.
You will never regret these adventures with your mates once you are older
The only channel where I stop doing everything just to watch the newly upload video.
These adventures are so fun to follow. I don’t know how you’re so confident walking along the top of that radar - that’s nuts! Thanks for sharing - be safe, and can’t wait to see where you take us next!
I just love everything you say when in your sleeping bag, especially about worrying about tomorrow, tomorrow.
when I stayed outside during my travel in north Italy in the Winter it was rough, couldn't imagine being out in the snowstorm like you guys did. incredible new adventure shiey
Love your videos brother. Your older videos are so nostalgic to me now. I wish you all the best in life.
Sure about that? This station looks like Dosso dei Galli, the snow protection tunnels are on the Monte Sciauz Radar site.
@@Emmanuel-lq2rc Monte Scinauz above Pontebba
@@steveoarrgh4119 Neither of these is a radar station. They were used for radio communication using tropospheric scatter and as an early warning system (It was called ACE High if you want to read more). Other than that you're right, the tunnels are at Monte Scinauz and this is definitely Dosso Dei Galli.
@@steveoarrgh4119it’s dosso dei galli, i’ve been there last year
yea i've been there and there are no tunnels connecting the dishes to the buildings
Hiking really does help me appreciate simple things we take for granted. I love it. Thank you so much for sharing your experience, shiey!!!
This is 15 km from where i live, i’ve been there a few times doing skialp, if you went the other way it would have been shorter 👍🏻
bro i have loved your videos for a while now and may or may not have inspired me and a friend
i love watching shiey having fun and enjoying his life at the point where he's doing everything he likes and what makes him happy.
8:02 this looks like a hyper realistic video game pov haha. love it
Snowy mountains are among my favorite sceneries, they look so peaceful and atmospheric.
Another crazy trip, though. Interesting seeing the different approaches for how to combat the weather, with different expectations of what gear was needed, hah.
Well hiked, you crazy people. Keep it up!
Wow, my friend, you are a member of this channel for over 5 years.
@@Younes_J.03 Yeah, time flies. Back then it was weird livestreams from inside bunkers and (semi-)abandoned factories. Today it's about enjoying the beauty of the world. Freedom and enjoyment in one way or another. shiey's content is top notch stuff.
@@Mattedatten damn! you are the reason he is able to do what he is doing. gg man,
once i start earning my own money i will definately contribute too. he is one of those very very very rare youtubers where i feel like i need to be paying to watch this
@@aryanram02 It's so many others, not just me. Over at Patreon there's a large bunch of people supporting as well, just; I started paying here before having bothered with a Patreon account, and now it might as well keep ticking here, same difference.
Strongly recommend supporting your favorite creators when you get yourself some reliable income. I don't interact much, but it's the worst thing seeing people being stuck accepting terrible forced ad-read deals in order to sustain their content. If it's great and original content, it's worth a monthly penny, _if_ you can afford it, of course!
I've been watching these vids for a while, but man this has gotta be one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Breathtaking.
Duuuuude, it was nut-clenching seeing you walking on that antenna. Don‘t do that. You‘re risking your life.
But the trip was awesome! I totally felt what you were explaining. And being up there on that stormy, snowy mountain, finding shelter. Just incredible.
Big thanks!
First time? :-)
"Don't do that. You're risking your life."
😂😂😂😂 Welcome to the channel! Urbex is about more than risking your life. Glad to have you here 😉
I saw these answers coming, guys. No, I‘m watching Shieys videos for years already. But it gets me every time when people (in my eyes) lightly risk their lives.
I know, also the missions into abandoned mines, train surfing etc is risky….but this walking on top of buildings… urrrghh …can barely watch that 🫣😙
@@eiiierIts cause that head mounted gopro sees just a little further off the edge than his eyes, it gives that queasy feeling
thats kinda why he does everything, in some of his old video where he talks about his mentality and approach to everything he mentions that he does what he does for the experiences and the thrill, he doesnt have the dream of living till 90, infact he doesnt even believe in the concept of days and years etc.
for him its always been and will be all about exploring, documenting his work and experiencing shit and thats what his freedom and illegal freedom is all about.
The sign in 0:30 says "stop! danger of landslides". The refuge is open now, I see on Google Maps. I think they close the road in winter because of snow, but not sure about the motivation.
when I see a notification of a new Shiey video, I'm automatically in a good mood🔥
Thanks for letting us see the beauty of this old Structures
Great video as always, I just really couldn't help but to also state your exploring partners really need to take your advice and stock up on supplies and clothes/gear. I'm sure they did just fine without it, but never too safe. The trek up the mountains would have been much easier on them if they had proper boots and layers from what I was seeing
Thanks shiey for introducing us to your friends. Ever since you adventured with gifgas he’s turned into one of my favorites (ofcourse your still #1) when it comes to these extreme hikes you do
I'd love to see Shiey climb the White House
Awesome mate can't wait for a good mission regards Pete
Will you ever train surf again? Miss those vids❤
Beautiful morning blue sky!!! ❤definitely worth it!! 😍

ive been sub to shiey for 7yrs and im glad about how much has changed and how many subs and views he get now... it makes me so happy
For magic like this, it's worth living
Definitely one of my favorite channels love the snow adventure keep up the great work bud
"All weather is nice weather, it just offers different types of experiences." Facts.
I missed watching your adventures, somehow I lost the channel and didn't remember the name, now that I rediscover the channel I am enjoying it. Thanks for genuine contents.
You woke up with a headache probably because of altitude. You guys are high up in the mountains and body needs to adjust. Great video and keep them coming ✌🏼
Shout Alabama ROLL TIDE! Been following for a couple years now. Truly amazing to see this level of pure freedom you share with us! Respeck💯
Been watching you for some time now, i live in the US and you sharing your amazing adventures lets me see the world from different perspectives. Thanks shiey
I just got back from USMC boot camp in parris island. I missed these videos man. The content and the movement you’re creating kinda speaks to me different now. I feel more wise.
That view ALWAYS pays off… and also the silence in the snow and up that radar, wonderful
hey shiey. i`ve been watching for about 3 years now. your train videos were amazing i would love to see some more cant believe its been a year since you went train hopping
Great views and I love this crew, Mat and Checkmate really fit.
Great explore. I loved the hike up too, that blizzard! Nice one.
first time watching and 13:50 is so powerful dude, brand new sub about to watch all your videos. Great quality and super enjoyable to watch. thank you
The most wholesome comment section on TH-cam. Thanks Shiey!
6:10 my man 'overtook' ABS for traction control XD
Watching shiey searching for shelter at night at anything less than 720p feels like seeing found footage
I feel suicidal some days and after watching a Shiey video, I always feel warmth and comfort. Exploring is what helps the mind the most.
Loved this one...seeing you trying to walk through the snow in shoes reminds me of life here in southern Canada. Go to work on a sunny day, get off work and there's a foot of snow and you are in shoes lol. I feel your pain. That view at 15:21 makes it all worth while. Amazing
There's nothing that gets me as excited as a new shiey upload
poor matt lmao this adventure was just messing with him nonstop haha
looks like the refugio, Croce Domini and the road, I rememeber once riding that unpaved road "in summertime" with the motorbike - really nice there - I knew there' s an old military station on one of the mountains there - anyway the whole road is up to 40km down to Anfo at lago d'Idro
so cool man this looks like something out of the last of us keep up the good work bro!!
I've been watching him for 2 years now and I don't know why but I found his videos extremely therapautic. I'm just glad that he's safe and alive. Much love Shiey.
You adventurers are so wonderful. As an old man, I wish for youth to do this. But the next great thing, is going along with you. Thank you Gentlemen!!!!! Peace & Love......
Incredible bro! Love your videos ,so well filmed too. I can’t help but worry when you’re walking on top of those structure though! 😮
"minimal wind" meanwhile, the audio be like *whehhhhhhwhwhhwhwhwhhwhwwhhwhwhwhwhhhwhwhwhwwhwhw*
Great video as always though! Hiking in the snow is always stunning
I've never claimed a snowy mountain but I have had my fair share of -40°c abandon snow adventures in Saskatchewan Canada! Always a thrill when you can die if you don't get to your location! Gotta love that shelter!
Bah, Saskatchewan is mild compared to Northern BC 😂😊
i am so thankful this type of content is uploaded for free. always the highlight of my day. cant wait for the next one
Shiey I wrote you into my college essay. I love your stuff so much and it really gives a great perspective when you push those limits. Waiting on decisions
I've actually went there on the 7th of January and started from Saint Colombano, i came from the opposite side and while I've had to hike to the top of a mountain and cross the mountain range the entrance to the base was completely snowed in and it was impossible to get in (I did get there at about 12pm though). Cool journey though I wouldn't have went if not for that video
god that view at 15:00 is wild
Dude this was awesome! Incredible footage and poison is a good friend.
Man i love these videos. The hike was incredible, similar vibe as watching you guys hike into pripyat. I enjoy your philosophical take on exeperince too. Ty for sharing
Really loved the message at the end. Shiey’s positivity in any situation is something to aspire to.
Youre living the life. Traveling with friends, make videos and music and enjoy life.
