    I've had mine since March Madness Amazon days. I LOVE it!!! I've canned in it, but I do live in AZ, so I live in a low a sea level atmosphere. Everything has turned out amazing, esp. my cheesecake -- I've made it no less than 9 times since March, my husband keeps begging me to make another. Everything from steaming fresh tamales, to baking lasagna and meatloaf. You can not beat this appliance. It does it all.

      +ladylaugh51 I still need to try cheesecake! I haven't done it yet!

      I recommend This Old Gal's website. She has wonderful cheesecake recipes including ones you make in mason jars.

    I made Dulce De Leche tonight in small mason jars, and used my jar tongs that I use for canning to reach in the pot to pull jars out.

      Really great video, by the way! Reminded me of some items that I already have in my stash of stuff that I can use, like my Pfaltzgraff ramekins and a lot of my Pyrex dishes. Thank you!

    I've had my IP for about a year. Used it for the first time this weekend. 😱 we cooked our Christmas turkey! It turned out great! Not sure why I've waited so long to use it! It's quickly becoming my go-to appliance. So thx for the great videos! They are very helpful.

      I'm so glad you finally broke that thing out! The thought of a poor little IP sitting in the box makes me sad! Lol! Thanks so much for watching!

    The mesh strainer you show a picture of is what I use for Bone broth. I put the strainer in and all my bone broth fixings...then I can just lift the strainer out and discard the bones and veg left with only broth. No need to strain. That would be better than the boiling inserts IMO as I like to fit in a ton of bones and veg. But I'm intrigued. Thanks you Nili for your awesome content for us homemaking food preppin mommas!!

    Great round-up. I've had my IP since December and I love it. I've made cheesecake, hard boiled eggs, baked potatoes, chicken cacciatore, venison stew, etc. I bought silicone egg poaching cups, the 6" springform pan from Wilton and a 6" push-pan from Fat Daddio. I also have some of the same Pyrex cups and bowls you have. I haven't had much luck with PIP cooking. I still want to get the separate pot lid and the new sweet and savory sealing rings. I find that silicone tipped tongs are very helpful to remove things from the IP. I wish they would create a silicone sling to put under pans for PIP cooking.

    Thanks, Nili. This is also something I have on my wish list at Amazon that others have suggested for things like cheese cake, meatloaf, etc.: PushPan Round 8 by 3-Inch Aluminum Cake Pan. I guess it has a silicone seal and fits the Instant Pot perfectly (supposedly better than the spring pans). I have a lot to learn but with your help I'm even getting my husband involved.

    Thank you so much for making this list! My husband was so excited about my new toy that he set it up for me and told me to buy the accessories I want. ;)
    Just FYI, when I went to check out, it said someone had already bought this gift for Nilli. It's not a big deal, but I wanted to let you know since i'm pretty sure one of those links I used (wanted to make darn sure you got the affiliate credit!) was your personal wishlist. I don't want to jinx your own collection by people thinking you had already gotten it...
    I really enjoy your channel. I especially love when your sweet girls make a cameo. It's nice to see another mama making do with such joy! Can't wait for more videos. :)

    • @IndigoNili
      @IndigoNili  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Adrienne Dennison Hi Adrienne! Thanks for letting me know about the gift thing on the Amazon list. I guess Amazon was treating it like a wish list for people to buy gifts for me! Lol! I changed it now so it shouldn't do that. 😊
      I love that your husband is so enthusiastic about the IP! I had to work heard to win my hubby over. I think I've done it now though! It was probably the buffalo wings that really did it. 😉
      Thanks so much for watching! I love being to share. ❤

    Love your tips. Thanks. The Mason jar that broke must had had a crack. They are made for canning and high pressure. In 40 years I have had a couple break and that was most likely the problem.

    • @IndigoNili
      @IndigoNili  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tonnia Williams Yeah, it's possible the jar was already cracked. I know glass it's sensitive to temp changes so maybe the cold egg did it too. I still use jars in my IP and don't worry about it. I've only ever had it happen that once so it's still a good track record!

    • @OldAlabamaGardener
      @OldAlabamaGardener 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hope you are not using the Instant Pot to can vegetable or meat in! The Instant Pot is not for canning! It does not get to the pressure to kill botulism.

    • @KathleenHeuer
      @KathleenHeuer 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indigo Nili: I just had a Mason jar break on me this week. I was making steel cut oatmeal, and I did use milk cold from the fridge. When I opened the Instant Pot after cooking, one of the 2 Mason jars (the one that broke, I see now) had no liquid left in it, and the water below the trivet was milky. When I went to wash the jar, my hand pushed the bottom of the jar clean off. Maybe next time I'll try microwaving the milk just long enough to take the chill off.

    • @anndennis7163
      @anndennis7163 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After canning with Mason jars for over 20 years there are a couple reasons for the jars to fail. One is unequal temps. As you guessed. The second is a flaw which is usually at the bottom. It can be fine through several cycles then break. Temps are easy to control, but there is nothing you can do about flaws.

    Notice that the rice spoon doesn't touch the counter if you lay it horizontally. Neat design.

    • @asahoura2798
      @asahoura2798 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does it levitate? If not, it touches the counter when you lay it down on the counter. Physics, you know.

    • @vegangelist
      @vegangelist 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Asa Houra the handle touches the counter but the handle isn't usually messy.
      The bowl of the spoon - the part that is messy - doesn't touch the counter.
      Pretty sure you could figure all that out but being a smarty pants to the commenter was just way too tempting, eh?

    I have heard the ceramic inner pot doesn't work well or shall I say not as good as the stainless steel and it is more sensitive to clean up liquids and if you do burn the bottom with food it's hard to get off without scratching the non stick surface. I just buy extra inner stainless steal. works fab for me. On the strainer basket this one comes with a lift out handle on the top and fits perfect Silit 1529602201 Insert Basket 19 cm. If you want a separator this one also works well Kuhn Rikon Duromatic Trio Separator Set 20 Cm

    Very informative videos. Do the 6 qt. Instant Pot trivets and steam racks fit in the 6 qt. Cosori, and vice-versa ?

    • @IndigoNili
      @IndigoNili  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the 6qt Cosori and Instant Pot have identical liners so all the accessories will fit in both

    You do have plenty of accessories for your pressure cooker, and must use it regularly. I just purchased my pressure cooker, and will begin using it soon.

    Do you use the glass lid when you use the steam function?

    Nili can i put coconut milk in bottom of instant pot i thought i can't my recipe call for coconut mik instead of water ? thank you for videos they are real helpful.just started few month ago using pressure cooker it's awesome' Ruth

    • @IndigoNili
      @IndigoNili  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would worry that just coconut milk would be to thick to allow the pot to come to pressure. If it was watered down a bit it would probably be okay.

    I just bought something called an idli steamer tower for making steamed breakfast idli's. I tried them at an Indian restaurant and now I make them at home in my instapot

    Hello Indigo Nilli:
    Would you happen to know where I can buy on the Internet that small measuring cup used to make rice, since I lost it, when it came with my IPDUO 60 6 quart Instant Pot Multi Cooker?.
    Also many thanks for everything:).

    Question: Is there a gap between the metal caps and the glass on the underside of your Instantpot Glass lid, and even on the top parts also? I received one for Christmas and there is a gap where I can actually see the rubber seal and I'm worried about food getting between the metal cap and the glass lid.
    Thank you for this awesome video!!!

      +sn232 I don't have a gap. Is your handle loose? Seems like something might be defective. 😕

    Hi Nili,
    I really enjoy watching your electric pressure cooker videos. I just purchased a Cosori 8qt and I’m looking for accessories. I’m wondering if you have seen the OXO Good Grips Silicon Steamer and what your thoughts are about using one in a electric pressure cooker? Thank You So Much for all your great videos!

      A lot of people use the silicone steamers and they work great!

    Sometimes you can find lids at the thrift store that will fit or you might have one in your pot cupboard that works already.
