The Cel shaded Spidey definitely looks smaller. In that case, he'd be good for posing with large villians. Make some, like Venom and Rhino appear even larger. Help emphasizes their imposing character designs! Really loved the video. Just got into Marvel Legends, earlier this year.
Those giant red pins turned this deal off. Team Hasbro also said they wanted him pinless, but the production was already on. But I do agree, this is more animated series accurate, than the cellshaded Walmart exclusive.
I lowkey prefer this one to the ryv rendition tbh, I do want the pinless joints but I love the tighter web design and shade of blue on this one as opposed to the ryv.
I have 2 of these. I bought one and the spider logo on the back was butchered but luckily the same Walmart stocked some more and was able to get another(was hard to get figures sometimes back in 2020-2021). I do like the look of this spider man compared to the RYV version but I HATE those red pins and the cut on the back of the neck. I prefer Spiderman to not be so scrawny as well and really wish Hasbro would revisit this version. They could use pinless joints, bulk him up a bit, and bring the shoulders up a tad and it would make him look way better ..
Yeah this Retro is to me the best Spider-Man out there, particularly when it comes to being a representation of the animated series Spider-Man. The Amazing Fantasy body's too puny and small, the RYV's logo, headsculpt and colors don't match the animated series. The recent Vulture 2pack is close but doesn't have the Retro's modern articulation. I mean I have them all and love them all but this Retro is still my favorite.
dope . i bought that vulture 2 pack (havent opened it yet) did u do a head swap ( put the new vulture 2 pack spidey head on the retro wave spidey body)? if so how does it look? i think that vulture 2 pack doesnt even have a diaphragm cut. sad.
@@Avenging_Archer aw thanks for letting me know. i think vasco toys did a review on the retro spidey too. he said that there is a nice interchangeable head that is perfect which is the ben reilly retro wave head sculpt.

@hugomonstah yeah, sadlly the reds don't match BUT the Peter Parker head from the 2 pack fits really good with the Retro body.

So far my final Spidey, with the RYV head, looks much better than the default one.
that RYV head is not my fav, but the body mold and articulated feet are great
