    Would love to see a "week in the life of sorted" series or at least a video. See all the behind the scenes stuff, the ideas from conception, the shopping for gadgets and ingredients, the 'business' type stuff! See what the rest of the team do on a daily basis and the while mechanics of a successful, entertaining and long-running food TH-cam channel - a TH-cam food channel wasn't even really a thing when you guys started!

      yes would love! i love sorted whatever they do but i feel like the biggest change is that it’s more high production which takes away a little of the banter-y vibes we got from the older sorted if that makes sense, like the bloopers videos were my favourite! having a bts video would be so great as the sorted we know now is kinda contained just to these 2 dimensions - the main kitchen and the guys to the side. a big reason why i love sorted over food channels is the chemistry between the guys which gets really showcased in the videos where they eat around london as we see less of their “personas” if that makes sense - a behind the scenes would be so fantastic

    The veggie slicer is so much more safe than a regular mandolin it's unreal. That alone would make it worth it IMO.

      Yea i have like a mandoline/plunge slicer thingy and its meh. Wanted to make potato slices and cut my thumb really deep.

      I bought one, it came with a full blade out of the box and wouldn't even slice a tomato. I tried forcing it a bit more and the whole thing unmounted in my hands. Wanted to buy one for years, and was very disappointed

      I have a safety mandolin that's similar to this and I love it, it's just a cheap one that has 3 card you slide in instead of this dial they have on this guy. I love it, but it is disappointing that it doesn't have the versatility this one has.

      That's the main thing I was thinking that whole time because I accidentally cut the tip of my middle finger off about a month and a half back while making potato chips. I have a cut-proof glove for it now, but this seems way safer and it seems to do just as good a job.

      I got one and had the worst experience ever. The blade was full, the spring wasn't as strong and after trying to apply a bit more pressure, the whole thing came apart. The feet are simply stuck in place and the whole thing is assemble with plastic snaps, so not the most sturdy thing

    I would love to see a video where they review previously reviewed gadge that they have now used for a couple of years, like that spatular with the link in it to help empty jars as I see them use it in videos all the time

    I want an ultimate ultimate gadget battle. All food can be cooked with only gadgets from these series. No microwave or camp stove, or blender; unless from this show - a proper gadg-off!

      This, but instead of gadgets they've already reviewed, it's new gadgets. No manual provided, mystery ingredients box which contains some which would be useful for the thing the gadget is for, and some red herrings.

    I wish they also reviewed the washing up. That super slicer could be a nightmare if it doesn't disassemble nicely.

      I have a similar one made by dash, and while it doesn’t fully disassemble, it does come with a little cleaning brush with a long handle to get all the little bits out without slicing yourself.

    The Once for All Vegetable Slicer is going to be a HUGE help for my hubby in the kitchen. He has rheumatoid arthritis, so he's not very dextrous with his hands making him clumsy at slicing; and using a regular mandoline is dangerous for him. This is definitely going on my "I have to buy this on payday" list!

      yeah those kinds of gadgets are excellent for people with disabilities or other dexterity issues and it's great that they show them here and that some products are good enough that they can be sold to the general market rather than aimed at a specific niche which would make them more expensive.

      Surprised they didn’t mention that. They are usually very good at thinking about how a gadget might not be meant for the general public, but instead can be a great tool for people with dexterity issues. So instead of ripping on a gadget because it’s useless to them, they try to put themselves in other peoples shoes.
      Might be cause they actually saw many uses for it for themselves aswell, that they didn’t bring it up.

      I bought one for my kids to use when they help me in the kitchen. It is amazing and we use it quite regularly. The fault with this that it can be a bit of a pain to clean, but as long as you hit it with a sprayer as soon as you are done with it its not to bad.

      I recommend buying a Cuisinart food processor with the slicer disc. Much smaller, does more things, and the motor does all the work!

    That slicer actually looks great! Sushi roller on the other hand.... imagining the texture of that rice makes me want to cry

      That sushi thing is not even new it’s been made out of plastic for years this one is just made from wood.
      With the plastic one you don’t have to wet it so much as it doesn’t stick so easily

      can´t you just thinly grease the sushi maker with oil or something cause that looked way too wet as it was or would a little bit of oil harm the sushi?

      @@katherinechu4581 yes! I used to be a chef until my illness took that away from me. I still sharpen my knife skills by cooking at home, but my dexterity is definitely diminishing. I totally can see myself using this!

    I bought that mandolin because it IS much safer than the traditional version. My friend tried it with her 3 year old daughter who tried to reach up into it and get stuff out only to find out that the blade was unreachable :) I strongly recommend it for someone who doesn't care about exact cutting but does care about safety and reasonable cutting :)

    Here's an idea for a video (or four):
    Give the normals a budget (maybe three different levels) to buy what's needed for a kitchen (think people moving out for the first time) and set them cooking challenges they must complete using only the equipment they bought (plus the oven, stove, fridge and freezer).
    Then finish off with Ben doing the same thing with those budgets and compare the differences.

    I have been making my own sushi for about 20 years now and still get the occasional wonky roll, but I would still prefer something that is not quite aesthetically correct than the homogeneous wet ricy pulp that seems to come out of most sushi "guns". They just seem to lose all texture and become far too much like porridge. Honestly, making proper sushi is not all that difficult and far more fun, especially with friends.

      Agreed. I think mastering sushi rolls so they look restaurant quality is tricky, but knowing how to make a decent enough one to eat at home is hardly that difficult - so the whole sushi gun feels like a bit of an unnecessary rip off. Especially when you can get a decent sushi mat for less than $10 while this is almost three times the price.

      I’ve only make sushi once with a “mat” made of a tea towel wrapping in cling film and it work brilliantly, it was a touch different to get the rolls tight but seemed much better than make it that incredibly soggy.

      I'm walking disaster on legs and even I managed to make nice looking rolls on my first try😂 It's not hard at all. A lot of instructions to follow, but nothing difficult or complicated. The only wonky happens when I'm out of patience and the rice portions start to vary so it ends up too much and struggles to stick😅 And the ends which I just chop off and destroy all the evidence 😛 These devices look a lot more clumsy and the result is just... bad.

      Soaking something in water and using it to process food afterwards is a terrible concept in general. This will introduce water into everything and if there is something you don't want in your perfectly cooked and carefully treated sushi rice... It is water ^^

    The best part about samosa for me is the dough at the top of the triangle and the base where its folded over itself. It doesn't matter how good the filling is the satisfying part for me is always the crunchy shell so this machine basically takes that away :/ I am going to try baking mine now though based on Kushs mum method :o

      For me the oilyness of them being deep fried is important and yeah that folded over layer is important but pretty much the oilier the better the crisp on it is

      Kush's mom's method sounds genius for those of us who would like to try samosas but have to avoid fried food for health reasons. Basically... glad to hear that's an actual option that someone more familiar with the food genuinely reaches for!

    I actually got the “mandolin” for Christmas from a friend because she wanted to make sure she got me a safe one haha. It unfortunately doesn’t work great for small things that you want a precise angle on, like slicing garlic, but I think it’ll be quite handy for larger items like you demonstrated here! Without having to get out a whole food processor.

      I have it too and totally agree! I mostly use it for when I'm slicing things like sweet potato and it needs to be more precise than I can get on my own. I wanted to add that it's also super easy to clean and I don't ever feel like my fingers are in danger like with some other choppers

      I sliced the tip of my finger off with a traditional mandoline even with the saftey gaurd and now they scare me. This one did look much safer!

      @@MissJean223I have a family member who can use a traditional mandolin because of similar safety concerns we got the this chopper for Christmas and there's not been a safety concern with them using it or cleaning it at all

      Pickled carrot and daikon, sweet potato fries, basic soup prep (onions, carrots, celery), etc. I could definitely get some use out of it and there's a lot of veg that it takes me forever to prep with a knife. Do you feel like the blades dull over time?

    I have seen the cutter before in another video where it gets reviewed on its usability and design (among other features) and both then and now it looked to me like an absolute lifesaver for people with physical disabilities.

      I had my mandolin before my disability got bad and I liked it a lot. Now as things have progressed it is an absolute life saver. Everything from celery and onions to potatoes and aubergine and as long as you use the guard safe as the day is long. I am sure those few add on features this one had with the foot holding the pressure would make it even better!

      It depends, does the blade stay sharp? And if not can it be changed out. I have several disabilities and tried several mandolin designs now (but not this one) and it mostly comes down to how much muscle power and precise movement it needs. And most have blades that dull very quickly and can't be changed out making you have to use more power that I don't have. Also for this one in specific, it spraying the small pieces of veggies everywhere is definitely not gonna help with my disabilities, it needs a better reservoir.

    there’s special samosa sheets we use in the Middle East where you fold your samosas into that triangular shape. Switz is the brand we used growing up. That’s what I think that machine is for, I think you get a similar result with the filo pastry just with fewer layers

    The all purpose vegetable slicer is now on the way to mine. It looks perfect for me. I have arthritis and struggle with using knives sometimes so I'm so Happy youve done a review on it.

    theoretically you could use a watered down version of the vinegar mix you normally put into the sushi rice and instead of dunking the whole thing in the water you could brush the insides with the mix so it’ll be less wet…maybe? im not sure if it’s practical and obviously it’s probably not the best idea to season the rice beforehand but yeah something to think about i guess

      Or brush it with sesame oil? That way you can flavor the rice and prevent it from sticking.

    I liked the chopper, first one I seen that am actually considering buying, will have to show the wife to see what she thinks. Will have to look up some other videos on it to see how easy it is to clean.

    I have one of the draft keg pumps and it is amazing like really great you can remove the keg chuck it in the fridge it’s great, only downside is leaving it plugged in all the time to chill and to Baz’s point it’s about the same size as a coffee machine we have ours on our counter it’s class

    The samosa machine seems to create a lot of excess waste. A lot of oddly shaped scraps were cut off when he closed the lid. You'd have to plan ahead for that waste on how to use it so it's not wasted.

      This was pre-bought filo pastry, which they also seemed to say isn't quite the same as "actual" samosa pastry. So a bit of a worst-case scenario demonstration, if you will. If you were making your own dough, you'd just have to roll it out into an almost-circular shape.

      If you look at the picture that the machine itself shows they used smaller pieces kind of shingled all over the machine, meaning there'd be very little waste.

    My roommate bought that same mandoline recently and it is legitimately good. We love it cause well, it works well and your hands get nowhere near the sharp bits which I’m sure everyone can agree that makes using one nerve wracking. It’s worth it if you find yourself needing to slice lots of veg frequently.

      @@chadkreutzer1552 it cleans pretty well. it comes with a brush to help get any little bits that may be stuck in there. but otherwise just a scrub brush and hot soapy water and good to go. really didnt take longer than anything else id wash.

    I love my perfect draft, you failed to mention that beerhawk give you a fiver back per keg when you return it. Also, to make it easier for others - the kegs are 6 litres or 10.5pints. It’s defo at least 2x the price of cans but Jamie is right about it being on par with draft and if you can afford the initial outlay,have space and don’t mind paying 2x for the beer it’s 100% worth.

      Philips keeps the price low as they will get a cut for all the kegs you will be able to buy. Here in the Netherlands there are always a row of like 4 or 5 (if not more) beers of different brands selling kegs for the draft.

      Disagree, seems quite steep for a machine that doesn't even seem to use co2 (i.e. As you pour beers, oxygen will replace the beer in the keg and it will start oxidizing which is not good, especially for IPAs, instead of replacing it by co2 which would keep it fresh for longer)

      @@davidf760 it’s basically a Bag In Box system. The beer isn’t replaced by air, it’s replaced by nothing as the bag inside the keg gets smaller.

      You can get an actual kegerator for around that much. Or with a bit of diy make one for less. And have access to a wider variety of beers since it wouldn't be limited to their proprietary kegs.

    I bough the vegetable mandolin after seeing this. It is awesome. It is so useful for sauerkraut, bibimbap or to chop carrots and cucumbers for sushi or kimbap.

    This is one of the only cooking channels i can comfortably binge watch, as they are British and generally feature British food. So i never really get too hungry from watching, like other cooking channels where i immediately go and try out the recipe and then forget all about the channel.

    I have that exact mandolin and it is worth it for me. My knife skills are weak, and admittedly was too nervous buying a normal mandolin because of risk of injury. This thing works great, and is safer and better than my mediocre knife skills

    The veggie slicer would be one of the biggest life savers for me in the kitchen. I'm disabled and prep can take so long sometimes when ny hands aren't working properly. That would make it so much easier. Just wish I could afford it on benefits. 😂

      I have definitely looked at gadgets like this for the same reason! My main hold back has been cleaning. Idk how easy it would be to clean something with so many small parts, which is why I look at reviews like what Sorted does before buying anything for a kitchen

      I have one, and I absolutely love it. It's also easy to clean, just spray it down in your sink with the faucet sprayer. It also comes with a little brush in case something does get stuck, but I've never had to use it.

    I could imagine that draught beer machine being a really thoughtful gift for anyone that got into micro-brewing their own beer at home over the lockdowns, just if friends came round for a drink or as like a little mini pub!

    I own one of those mandolines and I absolutely love it. If you're looking for precision cuts it's no substitute for a traditional mandoline, but for chopping veg for a stir fry or coleslaw or salads it works a charm

    I wonder if you could put a few drops of toasted sesame oil onto the inside of the wooden sushi thing? It would give it a great flavor and wouldn't be so soaked. I'd love to try to make baklava in that samosa maker! I think the beer snacks were my favorite thing featured today. Actually, I love these gadget videos!

      It doesn't have to be so dripping wet if you give it a couple of minutes to soak. Bamboo gets quite slippery on its own.

    That chopper looks extremely useful, when you see them in stores you know you won't be using them beyond the first couple of weeks, but this looks kine an everyday kitchen tool. Also the draft, I need it in my life.

    On the Phillips Draft “You need immense willpower”. I can confirm 😂 The kegs last 30 days. I live by myself, and not a single one has lasted to the end of day 3. My go to is the 8% Tripel Karmeliet 👌

    I bought a perfect draft machine a month ago, love it. The only minor drawback is you can't control the temperature, it's locked to 3 degrees Celsius. Which is too cold for some of the beets like Kwak or Leffe. Still not the end of the world and still worth it as far as I'm concerned.

    Sushi is supposed to be lightly rolled/packed so it is firm enough to hold but loose enough to fall apart in the mouth. The exception is oshi zushi, which uses vinegar marinated fish and can be preserved longer.

      I decided to make my own kaassoufflés a l while back. Best decision ever. They taste so much better with a proper amount of halfway decent cheese (Make sure you don't overfill and seal them properly though, if they burst open the oil starts boiling for a bit). Would love to see what they can do with kroketten.

    The Samosa machine has promise, I can see me experimenting with it to get it just right ! Also I’m surprised none of the boys have ever had a bar job, pulling through pints and changing/line cleaning kegs is such a chore on a Tuesday morning. Which is when I tended to do it when I managed bars.

    The safety mandolin was great for me after I suffered from a stroke. It also allowed me to still teach my granddaughter to cook. I was not able to handle a knife properly, and I was afraid that I would no longer be able to teach her how to grow her love to create food. She was 6 at the time, and she had been cooking in the kitchen with me since she was 2. She is 8. Now, it's been 2 yrs since my stroke, and we now still cook, but we work on discovering how to cook safely after a stroke. My granddaughter still loves the time we spend cooking, and now her uncle helps teach her the fine skills I can not.

    Have since bought the Once For All Vegetable Slicer and I love it. Bulk preparation of diced onion and diced soup base (onion/carrot/celery) for the freezer. Very easily prepared salads - I found that if I cut a little gem lengthways, first, it makes short work of it, and makes good cross-leaf slices - much nicer than simple limp leaves in the salad.

    The second product does not make samosas it seems. They looked like "triangle kachodi" or 'samosa kachodi" which is a semi popular Indian snack. Pretty cool!

    Traditionally you wrap the samosa dough into a cone like shape, then you stuff it with a filling of your choice but not all the way through, and then fold over the excess dough in the bottom to get the shape. Then it's deep fried, but I've had baked ones as well, although it's not commonly sold on the streets like that. But I've never seen or heard of the method of wrapping it like Mike said. Maybe it's tradition at her home or region.

      In south africa in the indian communities, the fold over and over is how we do it. We make the cone in our hand, fill and then fold and the end use a paste and stick the end. Our samoosa dough is too delicate to press, it gets dry and crumbly very quickly. I wonder how the 2 differ

    The sushi maker... the competition already had something better on the market with the sushi bazooka. No need to soak in water, nor have to worry about the hinge or glue used in the bamboo "wood".

    Mandolin seems cool! I have a hard time getting this kind of thing to stay still on the board. It also is a strange shape that seems difficult to clean and store… but maybe I’m just lazy 😬

      A quality food processor can cut in a similar manner, much more easily with far easier clean-up but they cost far more. If your budget cannot afford a food processor then it seems to be a good budget alternative.

      I think it could be better with a long opening cover too. That one could make uniform strips but too short for fries. I think it should also be able to cut length wise.

      It has suctioning feet and folds pretty flat. It’s so much safer than a traditional mandolin, my 13 year olds use it easily

    One thing to add to the Perfect Draft is the power draw as it is a mini-fridge. That being said if you got the money to spend and regularly have some friends over it would be a nice edition to your parties.

    I can absolutely see the Once For All being used in my kitchen. Considering all the people who have lost chunks of fingers to a Mandoline, I could also see it used in more professional style kitchens since it keeps your hand back from the blades.

    I have arthritis in my hands. When I chop veggies I end up in pain. I chop veg for meal prep, pasties, soups etc on the day I get my veg. I end up in pain for days. This is better than any other type of chopping tool I've seen. Thanks for the honest review.

    The mandolin looks like it could be useful. I don't like normal mandolins as I'm really clumsy and I would probably just lose my fingertips, but this one has all kinds of stuff in place that should avoid that 😃👍

    I have a similar chopper?slicer thing. I love it because I don't have to worry about accidentally cutting myself like on my mandolin. Works great for fries and potato chips.

    I’d love to see more experiments with the samosa maker! I wonder how this would work with proper wheat samosa dough and not the inauthentic/cheat/hack/sub-par disappointment that is filo pastry. Also I wonder how well this machine would work for things like baklava and some other pastry-enclosed food items.

    Honestly, the samosa machine didn't seem that worth it to me but that's mainly because I can get some really good vegetarian samosas near me for 25p so £49 would just feel wasted on the machine not including the ingredients you'd need for it

      @@williamaldred335 Maybe about 50p per samosa. Tbh though I might still buy them if it went over that because I don't eat samosas that often. If I bought that machine I feel like I'd use it once and then never again. Plus the samosas in the video didn't look as tasty in comparison to the ones I can buy at my local Indian shop (granted I haven't tried them). How good it tastes is probably the most important factor to me anyway so I'd probably ask my mum to teach me how to make them first and see if it's worth it to try and make at home before I spend about £50.

    I bought a perfect draft second hand for €15. Only use it on bdays. Took it with us on a vacation with friends. Having 3 kids with us, the fridge was filled with baby food pretty fast. Having this standing on a table, with 3 degrees cold beer during a hot weekend was absolutely lovely.

    we had a "perfect draft" in the office for a few years.. initially we used it a lot, but one needs to drink enough to empty the kegs regularly.. we were only a small team, so we eventually went back to bottles for our Friday 4 (or 3.. or 2) o'clock drinks.. they were just easier to store in the fridge, than keeping spare kegs cool, when they do run out (and people still want beer)

    As a very picky eater, I'd love to see you guys bring in a picky eater, and do a competition to see if they guys can make a few foods that normally wouldn't be palatable to that person to actually like it. This may mean doing something to cover up the flavor, change the texture, etc. And would be worthy of a badge.

    Here in Canada this is a starfrit item called the Pump and slice which I bought in Wal-Mart and I love it. I can't stand for long periods of time to prep for cooking so this is great for me

    I actually have one of those beer machines! Takes a couple of pours to get the nack right but when you do its amazing!! And works out much cheaper then going to the pub!!

    I’m all about that mandolin! I have rheumatoid arthritis and my wrists don’t bend making certain knife skills very difficult.
    As for the beer tap, that sounds like a great holiday wish list item for your favorite beer aficionado.
