Miami was an interesting project with the limitations imposed on yourself, and you've really pushed your creativity here. It's cool to see a project come to an end, in this case in a much more complete state than old Bordertown. Keen to see what else you've got in store for us!
As a viewer there's a huge sense of satisfaction in seeing that rarest of Skylines feat.... a city actually finished. Closest I've ever come I hit the building limit, which rendered my build unplayable - not sure I've ever got over that. I'd not known Miami was such a weird area, such a great place to pick - I've learnt stuff, (dammit man), and thoroughly enjoyed the ride! Cheers

Wait there's a building limit. As in a max # of buildings? Where does this come in? I'm at 165k population & am almost done with my city that includes lots of low density buildings. Aiming for ~170-175k finish pop.
@@stewartmassey441 yep, there might be mods to increase it a bit, but I think it’s 48k buildings. When I hit it it was 32k, it was raised in a patch a few years ago. There’s mods that allow you to see the set limits so you can plan up to them.

When I saw "finale", I was a bit skeptical that it would really all come together in the last 25 minutes, but man you really knocked it out of the freakin' park! Such a short series in terms of episodes but you got a whole lot done. Truly impressed with how you painted such a consistently high detailed, high quality portrait of a city out of vanilla assets, a few mods, and a lot of elbow grease.
You once again exceeded my expectations for a city. Even with vanilla assets this is an amazing build! You really captured the essence of Miami, mate. Congrats on finishing your largest single city. I can't wait to see the next project.
I am 62 years old. I used mods that allow me to use all the tiles. Overcame the road limit by using 2 lane one way highways with 2 lane one way roads to fill most of the 91 tiles with blocs. Built a city with 400,000+ population where most of it is low level residentials. Built a monorail net that connects most of the city. I simply click one of the monorail cars and get a camera view ride in my creation. Still adding and changing my city. Instead of trying to find space for a HO scale train diorama, I use my City Skyline city in the same manner, except I can ride the monorail and do not need to take up basement space for a trainset. Compare to a train set, I can build a larger world and get better enjoyment. The only thing is you need a good computer with decent RAM.
As a resident of Miami, I was so happy when you started this series, and now that its done there's nothing to say but great job! There were a few shots in the final montage that reminded me of real places, and the whole thing came out super professional and awesome to look at. Great build, my personal favorite so far!

Can't believe this series has been going for 6 months!! Feels so much shorter than that. Great to see you finish up a city that you're happy with, shame about the simulation being so slow though. This series was really fun to watch, something a bit different from all of your other series. In terms of completely finishing a city, i've never done that before, I know Flabaliki/James Turner got close with his Scandinavian inspired city Skargard, he got to over 100,000 residents if my memory serves me correctly, but that just had too many problems with mods clashing with in-game functions to continue building, sadly, as that was an amazing city.
@@magomarc1 I know! But i guess if he's making a brazilian style city, he'd probably do those low income districts. I mean, it is something pretty characteristic, and they are kind of beautiful in their own way.
This was a really cool project, and I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to. I can’t imagine the challenge all-vanilla must have been. The end product came out really well, though. It really conveys a sense of scale that only really comes with a completed city. Plus, it’s so cool to see a totally filled map.
I'm sure they'll be able to improve it more in the future. I know they were absolutely floored by how popular this game was. They probably had no idea anyone would be doing any of this with it, when it was created.

I know you said in your last livestream that you wanted to end Sichuan Province because you don't like doing just a single city like this so much, and you'd rather do things like Springfield or Marble Mountain where it's more spread out, but could you possibly do a poll and ask your followers if they want it back? Don't bother about giving yourself limits, like time, when doing something creative. It's not having unrestricted freedom that is necessarily the father of creativity. Solving a problem with restrictions necessarily is.
I know it’s a but late, but I had that issue a couple of times already. For me it was always a broken node somewhere, where people really got stuck somehow. Wiggling the network a bit relieved thousands of citizens 😅
Hi, just saying, I had to remove 81 Tiles from my city, it was killing everything, especially all industry/service related. BTW I build cities without infinite money, and my "average" city is something around 350K people. Of course I use almost none custom assets and I don't detail anything closer to what you do. Anyway, wonderful project as usual. Well done.
I wonder if placing certain assets and buildings outside the 25 tile range creates havoc throughout our cities in terms of gameplay and stability. I’ve had quite a few cities erupt with unsolvable issues as soon as I place an airport, intercity bus line, or some random industry outside of the 25 tiles. Well, after almost a yr of playing this heavenly game, I've decided to utilize the 81 tile mod for building far-flung micro-neighborhoods...only. I've yet to experience any niggling issues with just ordinary neighborhoods connected with national roads.
Suggestion, Build a city like Cape Town in South Africa. Cape town has rich districts and also poorer districts like in the townships. I find this combination very interesting to build. Also I have never seen anything like it on TH-cam. 🙂
I was thinking. The real city of Miami is getting clobbered by sea level rise. They need to build more homes on stilts. They could have canals instead of roads.
As inspiration for your next project you could look into cincinnati. It has a really cool european vibe to it, and there's a lot of history and architecture. I really hope you look into this SUGGESTION

My CS or computer hates me and I can build a city, but I know I won’t get too far before my game crashes. I recently played on the vanilla 7 Lakes map and my game surprisingly didn’t crash and I managed to build a pretty big city to the point where u felt satisfied. I decided to add a la amusement park yesterday and in the middle of detailing...my game crashed. Lol
Early in the video, you said Miami was your heaviest-populated city. Toward the end of the video, the Miami population has jumped up over 30,000 (to over 100,000) from early in the video
What's happening with Sichuan Province by the way, $2.20? Will that be continuing now that Miami is finished, or has that project been put on the backburner for the time being?
