Anton, I have never before played a game where I can encounter an issue, post about it on reddit, and two days later see a forthcoming update from the dev fixing the issue. You truly, truly are the best game dev I've ever had the pleasure to see.
It is truly incredible. The only more active bug fixing devs I have seen are those of BrVR (great game too), where reporting a bug on the discord generally means it is fixed within a matter of hours.

dude fr the betas had me SUPER worried with how nearly unplayable certain modes were when using limited ammo, i mainly play limited more than i play with infinite ammo
@@cobra29935 Yeah same for me. Making those split second decisions to just drop a mag or retain it (And memorize where you put it for later obviously) really adds tension to the game.
Giving the Orthogonal Encryption an increasing chance to spin 180° instead of 90° would make it present all the sides previously obscured to the player. The Chance could increase by Time or by number of Parts Left.
I enjoy when you address a bug or undesired decision that you fixed, and then go into the technical details of what exactly was going wrong and what you did to fix it. Some people may not understand it but I mostly do and it is always very interesting: The small little details and past decisions or completely unrelated things that come back to bite you one way or another.
I think the laser-diamond needs to have 2 lasers deactivated when people are playing one-hit. It's a pretty unforgiving way to lose a late round of 100HP when it decides to do a really fast horizontal spin at hip height. As for the sentinels, maybe have them pause and do a scan... how do I explain it... You know the scene in Incredibles where Mr. I has to hide behind Gazerbeam's bones? A tall, side to side sweep. As for Ammospawner changes, I always wanted to have ammoboxes. Just a single item with a count of bullets more meant to sit in the backpack for limited ammo runs that you would pull out to stuff rounds into magazines. Think about it, Sausage-brand bullet packaging.
Never thought I'd see the day where we don't have to manually spawn each round this is fantastic. Also as a colorblind player thank you for fixing the encryptions, those polymorphic nodes were absolutely brutal. I was able to get the 4th highest global score on my limited ammo run now that I can see the nodes much better.
The morning the update dropped, I went to go place an early limited ammo tnh run on the new map because I figured I could get a high rank if there were only 40 placements. Absolutely crushed it until the last hold, where despite having 3 50 round drums of 9mm and one 60 of 5.56, when I ran out of ammo on a regenerative super high up on the ceiling and lost. I think I'm ready to finally give it another shot.
Really glad to hear that the visibility of some of the encryptions got some attention. Been having an absolute blast with the new level, and I'm as excited as every year for Meatmas to come!
Maybe if you shoot a side of the encryption that you already popped it forces it to rotate once randomly so you can spend some extra bullets to turn it toward you if you can’t quite move to the right side
It'd be cool if you could force the rotation direction with shot placement to reward the player for remembering which sides still need hit and good shot placement, but random might be easier to program
I was literally playing limited ammo a few hours ago and thought "man, I wish that you could just hold down the individual cartridge spawn button" so thank you for reading my mind

As someone who exclusively plays in limited ammo mode I didnt realize you had to destroy the whole cube. No wonder i always died when that one showed up. I thought the goal was to shoot certain cubes inside it and last time i encountered one all i hade on me was a shotgun with no ammo since used it all on the sosages. and a single stack 9mm pistol that looked like a luger without the toggle lock, with 2 spare magazines. each mag only held 7 or 8 rounds and there was no way i was gonna clear that cube with just that. So basically I like this change, Good work anton.
@Dash62g I've only ever gotten to round 3 so far. Probably cause I'm playing hardcore. So i take so much damage from the sosauges. Like one shot from them takes 1000 health from you.

I've put in 10 hours of the game just playing this map since it came out! your QOL and speedy bug fixes are really admirable as a dev for a game I absolutely love! keep up the amazing work, and I can't wait to see what's to come in the future!
Since there is a chance that the C7A1 and C7A2 Canadian rifle meme might eventually come to an end this Christmas, we need to find a new set of guns to beg for. I propose begging for more muzzle loading/black powder weapons. Either different lock types like matchlock, wheellock or cap lock, different gun categories like blunderbusses firing shot or hand mortars firing grenades (which you have to manually light first), or early multi shot or breach loading weapons like Lorenzoni/Cookson/Kalthoff repeaters, the Collier revolver, the Nock gun or the Ferguson rifle. Even a simple actual flintlock rifle would be a nice start. All that would have to be different to the Brown Bess would be the rifling and the increased accuracy. And maybe the iron sights.
Alright, I played about 3 hours on Sunday and I'm blown away! I did a successful 5 hold standard beginner blake and a 4/5 hold classic loadout run. The map is gorgeous and I love the varied areas. I also appreciate the maps that are placed around for reference. The holds have a lot more verticality, especially in the inclinator, which was fun as hell to fight through. I feel like patrols are much more of a threat than in hallways as well. I got surprised in the supply room a few times while changing my load out and also while just traversing the map. I love that there are now environmental threats like the laser sensors, floating mines, and etc as well as exploding props scattered around. The map as a whole feels like a fresh new experience and I can't overstate how much I like it. You and the team knocked it out of the park

Is there any chance of increasing the time limit before the health drops despawn? I find myself struggling to reach them on time way more often on Industrial, even when the sosigs aren't that far away there often seems to be obstacles that you have to avoid which cuts into the small time you have to grab them.
I hope that the secret image(s) we created for the implementation of the 416 are still there somewhere, I didn’t grab the 12 gauge in the middle of a day for nothing.

Maybe make the orthagonal guarantee facing you after a set number of turns but random otherwise? Let a patient player wait until its segment is visible but a speedrunner might make a risky move to get that last segment
Excellent! I can't wait to get back into H3VR. I sold my Vive 2 years ago with the idea of getting a quest 2, but that never came about. I did however get a Quest 3 but I can't play with it till Christmas (I did convince my better half to let me try it to 'see if it worked' and spent a couple hours in H3VR. :) )

I don't know where I should post feedback or bug reports so I'll just tell you that I found a bug where in the ammo spawner item (that red thing) SWAG-12 HE is replaced with 00 buck. Other than that the updates one of the best ever!

you should make the sentinels spawn in sosigs when the player is detected. Make it add some sort of consequence that is bigger than what there already is
regarding the orthogonal encryption, maybe just add some conditional logic that makes it rotate to expose the last (and only the last) target. Or maybe just give it a tendency to have the last few targets facing down since the lower segments are easier to spot.
For a bit of a change for the obswrvers, maybe lift them off of the ground more? So that they float slightly above the players height. Or even xmlser to the cieling? This would give them a larger cone and, in my opinion, way more intimidating?
Love the new stuff and the larger areas, been playing this for years and just got my first take and hold high score podium in "limited ammo mode" by accident!!! (and good RNG) I just really immersed into it like never before and it helped, this is amazing!
Is the 'Remade' HK416 gonna remain the only 416 in the game, or do you intend to add further variants? The standard M4 stock, Early type top-rail and lack of Ambidextrous controls marks the new in-game model as a relatively early HK416, it would neat to see some other variants come to the game, for Example: 416C - Compact version with PDW stock M27/M38 - USMC Variant (effectively just a stand-in for any mid-life 416) G95A1/416A8 - German Army Modernized variant with slimmer (HKeymod) hand-guard, ambidextrous controls and a different stock.
A problem I've noticed with the new ammo spawner in take and hold is that it no longer spawns ammo for built in under barrel weapons (like for the mp7 and AR3 in Welldone Freemeat)
thank you. honestly H3VR is one of the most under appreciated games out there. i love this game! I picked up a quest 3 a few weeks ago: (1) movement with hand motion does not seem to be working? (2) please please continue developing The Grillhouse XL? its so much fun!!
while watching this i had a momentary epiphany that using h3vrs engine to fully recreate halo (at leaste CE) would be an amazing experience to play through. [unless a mod exists already and i didnt know about it]
Part of me wishes the angle of the controller laser isn't so harsh. I'm a new player of H3VR and having spend baby hours (1000+ hours) of VRChat, i'd like to have the angle match closely to SteamVR's default position. Ideally i'd like to have an option to toggle between legacy pointer angle and a new pointer angle to accommodate the veteran players who's have been playing longer than I have. I'm playing on a Quest 2 with Quest Pro/3 controllers if it helps
One idea for the ammo spawner, instead of spawning 5 rounds a second (that isn't enough for some of us in competitive), maybe have it be a timed based thing. What I mean is if you click the button once, it spawns one bullet, but if you hold down the button, after a half second delay, start spawning, say 10 or 15 rounds a second.
for me even in spawnlock mode especially the polymorphic is a run ender. I have almost 900 hours in the game i think i'm decent. I can win with most characters from time to time if i get good rolls. But i'm just constantly getting swarmed by enemies. I feel like old take and hold felt more tacticool and this muuuch more hektic. Don't get me wrong i love the new map but i feel like it has gotten alot harder and makes you play in a way i find not as fun. also by the way killing constructs and finding these sausage barrels can often save runs but it's not really engaging to just run around and look for those(but i often feel like i'm throwing a run if i don't). Thank you for the hard work! But at the moment i'd rather play the old take and hold.
so I'm on quest 3 and the west section of institution is just outrageously dark, like if I have irons, I can't see where I'm aiming dark. I checked my headset settings and I couldn't find anything that'd help. I do have HDR correction on which helps a little. I also find, in that same western section, with the hallway hold, it's just so insanely easy to get completely overrun due to the terrain hindering your movement. You can either choose be in cover and get piled on at point blank, or be up high and get absolutely wrecked by sosigs I can't even see. Other than those two things with the western zone, institution is absolutely fantastic. I'm not sure how the random seeding for hold orders works. I have yet to have a hold in void for example. Either way I know it's not finished yet and I look forward to further progress on the level and I'm excited for what is yet to come. Awesome work
On the subject of the ammo spanner I ran into a situation with the Sustenance MP7 being unable to spawn grenades because it fails to detect the secondary mounted launcher.
I have found some bugs in the tool boxes when I was using it, for starters the cloner tool when cloning the new barrel tips defaults to explosive and the tool boxes spawner as the stylises are not working @Anton Hand p.s. I didn't know were to go to repot bugs
Steam forum for the game, bug reports section :) would very much love it if you could report thus there so I can keep track of it and ask follow up questions
Love the new level and take and hold features. I've been playing with no encryption for just sosig combat and exploring the level and I like the amount of enemies in the holds but I wish the hold timers were shorter
I love watching these devlogs. I’ve been hesitating to buy this because I would have to buy it on steam, and then cast it to my girlfriend’s oculus. I’m worried that it may not work and then I wasted money or break her oculus or something. But I would absolutely love to be able to play this!

That Orthogonal Laser Diamond Encryption is in my opinion in need of some more tweaking. Depending on the level, it gets stuck way more often and is obscured way too much. I lost probably my best run to it, when it was on the hub. With the stairs everywhere, it was just a hide and seek. By the time I caught up to it, it ran away to the opposite side of the room with just one more weakpoint intact. Imo it is too passive and if it was more aggressive towards the player, it would probably be easier? I dunno. Thank you for the great updates :)
Hey anton, i've found an issue. When playing with streamlined controls, i can switch the Elcan Specter's magnification from 4x to 1x, but cannot switch back without turning off streamlined controls, as the arrow disappears.
The ar 15 platform is so unique with such variation between the modles, for instance one of the most unique rifles. The C7A1 and C7A2 Canadian rifles.
You know what DOESN'T have much variation between models? THE F2000, BABBBBBYYYYYY

I never play unlimited ammo. The ammo management is part of the fun for me.
Limited ammo is fun because you get to do tactical reloads
Yeah, I had to put on simple targets because the regenerative was ending my run any time it showed up. Super stoked to try the rebalanced version.

I like that orthogonal encryption forces you to leave your cover in order to engage it effectively. Shouldn't be too easy

i had to pull my VR stuff down but i may put it up, really kicking for a M82A2 Barrett in H3 to play with

The standard M4 stock, Early type top-rail and lack of Ambidextrous controls marks the new in-game model as a relatively early HK416, it would neat to see some other variants come to the game, for Example:
416C - Compact version with PDW stock
M27/M38 - USMC Variant (effectively just a stand-in for any mid-life 416)
G95A1/416A8 - German Army Modernized variant with slimmer (HKeymod) hand-guard, ambidextrous controls and a different stock.
The M27 is in the game, labeled as the IAR.

A problem I've noticed with the new ammo spawner in take and hold is that it no longer spawns ammo for built in under barrel weapons (like for the mp7 and AR3 in Welldone Freemeat)
This was fixed in this update

while watching this i had a momentary epiphany that using h3vrs engine to fully recreate halo (at leaste CE) would be an amazing experience to play through. [unless a mod exists already and i didnt know about it]

Part of me wishes the angle of the controller laser isn't so harsh. I'm a new player of H3VR and having spend baby hours (1000+ hours) of VRChat, i'd like to have the angle match closely to SteamVR's default position. Ideally i'd like to have an option to toggle between legacy pointer angle and a new pointer angle to accommodate the veteran players who's have been playing longer than I have.
I'm playing on a Quest 2 with Quest Pro/3 controllers if it helps

One idea for the ammo spawner, instead of spawning 5 rounds a second (that isn't enough for some of us in competitive), maybe have it be a timed based thing.
What I mean is if you click the button once, it spawns one bullet, but if you hold down the button, after a half second delay, start spawning, say 10 or 15 rounds a second.

for me even in spawnlock mode especially the polymorphic is a run ender. I have almost 900 hours in the game i think i'm decent. I can win with most characters from time to time if i get good rolls. But i'm just constantly getting swarmed by enemies. I feel like old take and hold felt more tacticool and this muuuch more hektic. Don't get me wrong i love the new map but i feel like it has gotten alot harder and makes you play in a way i find not as fun.
also by the way killing constructs and finding these sausage barrels can often save runs but it's not really engaging to just run around and look for those(but i often feel like i'm throwing a run if i don't). Thank you for the hard work! But at the moment i'd rather play the old take and hold.
Those iris lasers look pretty troublesome, know what wouldn't be able to destroy them? The French and American Chauchat light machine guns.

so I'm on quest 3 and the west section of institution is just outrageously dark, like if I have irons, I can't see where I'm aiming dark. I checked my headset settings and I couldn't find anything that'd help. I do have HDR correction on which helps a little.
I also find, in that same western section, with the hallway hold, it's just so insanely easy to get completely overrun due to the terrain hindering your movement. You can either choose be in cover and get piled on at point blank, or be up high and get absolutely wrecked by sosigs I can't even see.
Other than those two things with the western zone, institution is absolutely fantastic. I'm not sure how the random seeding for hold orders works. I have yet to have a hold in void for example. Either way I know it's not finished yet and I look forward to further progress on the level and I'm excited for what is yet to come. Awesome work
On the subject of the ammo spanner I ran into a situation with the Sustenance MP7 being unable to spawn grenades because it fails to detect the secondary mounted launcher.
That was fixed in this update

I have found some bugs in the tool boxes when I was using it, for starters the cloner tool when cloning the new barrel tips defaults to explosive and the tool boxes spawner as the stylises are not working @Anton Hand p.s. I didn't know were to go to repot bugs

Love the new level and take and hold features. I've been playing with no encryption for just sosig combat and exploring the level and I like the amount of enemies in the holds but I wish the hold timers were shorter

I love watching these devlogs. I’ve been hesitating to buy this because I would have to buy it on steam, and then cast it to my girlfriend’s oculus. I’m worried that it may not work and then I wasted money or break her oculus or something. But I would absolutely love to be able to play this!
It'll work(((given you have the PC requirements of course))), its what I do and I have an absolute blast. So get it my guy.
This might be a sign that the other AR-style guns will be getting updated at a future date.
Anton's said before that the previous refresh of the AR-15s was just part 1, so we'll be getting additional ones.
@@HappyMan0203 I am well-aware. I've been watching the devlogs for a while now. What I meant was that another AR-15 refresh might not be too far in the future.
That Orthogonal Laser Diamond Encryption is in my opinion in need of some more tweaking. Depending on the level, it gets stuck way more often and is obscured way too much. I lost probably my best run to it, when it was on the hub. With the stairs everywhere, it was just a hide and seek. By the time I caught up to it, it ran away to the opposite side of the room with just one more weakpoint intact. Imo it is too passive and if it was more aggressive towards the player, it would probably be easier? I dunno.

Hey anton, i've found an issue.
When playing with streamlined controls, i can switch the Elcan Specter's magnification from 4x to 1x, but cannot switch back without turning off streamlined controls, as the arrow disappears.
