@@tgs2141 that's Marcus Smith you should thank, he noticed flagging attendance for Charlotte's second date compared to the Coke 600 and wanted to shake it up. In doing so, his track now hosts *two* crown jewel events on the calendar and got the ball rolling for more road courses!
0:39 that's happened in both NASCAR races here. A driver misjudges the braking on a restart, locks up the front tires and goes straight into the wall. The pit exit goes around turn 1 and merges at the exit of turn 2
I’d love to see a remake of this with the undated 2019 version of this track. Very curious as to what you’d say of the chicanes on the front and back stretch lol
Update: this track got updated so it can host a nascar race in place of a second race on the oval. They changed almost nothing of note other than not making the pit exit utter garbage and adding 2 chicanes 1 in a similar spot to daytonas chicane and another right before the start finish line.
This is beautiful. xD I've always hated this track. Nice to see the frustration is shared! (Plus it also made me laugh out loud enough times that my BF is giving me odd looks, so 10/10!)
Changes for NASCAR: 2 chicanes l (a bus stop in the backstretch and a chicane in the frontstretch) T1 way now is the pitlane exit The sector between T7 and T8 was a little bit modified
but the new layout will not have the pit road exit wrecking but a new thing is that there are 2 chicanes. One on the front straight and a bus stop chicane. Another new addition is the esses on the infield exit
Well, they call it The Roval now, and they have put in no less but 2 chicanes which you will love. I mean, looking at these super serious videos, you do enjoy chicanes a lot, don't you ;)
To be fair, turn one of the roval isn't really a factor... now the bus stop leading up to NASCAR 3 and 4 on the other hand... also, the real hell corner is the chicane right before the start/finish line (see: Jimmie Johnson locking up the brakes, spinning out and taking out Martin Truex Jr as they battled for the win, allowing Ryan Blaney to basically steal the win at the inaugural cup race on the Roval in 2018) btw, they did something to prevent stupidity with Pit exit for the Roval, they added a warmup lane with walls and shit... they made these changes so that NASCAR could have a road course in the playoffs
Can we re-make this video with the current 2019 layout and watch as he dies on the chicane after the ovals 4th turn
Jimmie Johson and Truex Jr. would have PTSDs to what happened here in 2018...
PLEASE!
I was actually just about to comment this.
The kerbs are literally higher than Mount Everest at this chicane
mfw penalty because i fucked up one last fucking corner
This track actually got a lot better when it became the “Roval”
Brian France never got anything right however I will thank him for having the Roval

2:57 - 3:23 Not to mention the gates on either side of the exit that will unforgivingly impale you any time you make ANY sort of mistake... *sigh*
Ironically, this track will be official nascar track in 2018
Strike Agario the oval will still be used for the spring race.
And what a glorious race it was.
And xfinity series too
@@DestructorMe1999 wrong lol
@@juniper_87 how the hell is it wrong the 600 isn't going to use the roval?
You for got to mention the wire gates as you exit back into the banking....
Ah, true! I must have been suppressing its memory.

ThatGuy2469 the front stretch chicane isn’t there for sports cars, only nascar
Ethan Po doesn’t mean he couldn’t hop in a cup car and give it a run for it in that update
0:37 I really think this could be improved by replacing those black things with ERA blocks. Or some other explosive.
We need more of these! These are awesome XD
Anthony Stuart Will be a new one once I get my internet back!
NASCAR is also using a modified layout of the roval

and it's been pretty exciting
God that microphone
Well now that NASCAR is racing on the road course, we can move that large and very important object.
They are very important!?!?!?
They moved the first turn past the tower, and made the old turn 1 the pit exit.
This is beautiful. xD I've always hated this track. Nice to see the frustration is shared!

Today's XFinitiy race under a let's-build-a-boat-and-get-two-of-each-animal downpour was awesome!!!
You're a legend mate. :)
i actually love this track lol
Lol may be time to redue this one since the big series racesbit now and itnis redone
Or why didn't they make the turn off the oval to the road course AFTER the tower?
I did a hosted race on the infield course in old MX5 a while back. It's actually not too bad...
turns out nascar races the road course now and there is a bus stop on the back stretch
Now everyone loves it
Can you make an update plz
He's southpawracer,
He's a sim racer.
Etc...
What do you think of the new changes to the Charlotte roval?
Ehhhh, I dunno.
I think they just recently added it to IRacing.
Maybe time for a revisit with the new layout?

To be fair the Roval from 2018 - now is awesome.
1:42 at least the Mazdas seem happy.
Updated version!!
May Nascar have mercy on it's soul putting this on the schedule
This aged poorly
We need a new video show that we can see the difference between the Virgin Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course and the Chad Charlotte Roval
you are awesome dude xD and I thought I had a mental illness xD
Wish they would update it to current
2:20 DON'T LOOK AT THOSE rFACTOR 2!
Watching this amid rumors that the NASCAR Charlotte fall race is returning to the oval.
Please @southpawracer please do the new Charlotte roval, pretty please, I would love to see your hilarious reaction to the turtle curbs
How the turn tables
That's the old road course
So where is the guide? :D
Remake now do it
So this is what NASCAR is racing on?
Black-Op345Gaming They changed the pit and added a chicane or two
This video isn't up to date
this feels outdated
I mean 2015 ain’t exactly 2020
