Two things to note about North Sentinel island: The natives were quite friendly when first contacted, there’s even footage of them wading into the water to greet researches, however shortly after massive numbers of them died from diseases and it was then they became extremely hostile. Lastly, the missionary who was killed by them actually returned back to the island a second time after being scared away and let to leave the first time he showed up; this is usually the trend for people who enter the island, they get run off the first time they trespass, although there have been exceptions. Best to just leave them be.

An interesting fact about the North Sentinel Island tribe is that for ages they technologically lived in a Stone Age due to the lack of any minerals on their island they could use... Till recently.
In the last half a century (don't remember the exact date) a massive ship crashed on the island's shore. While the people on the ship were rescued by the Navy in the end, the ship itself was never recovered and the Sentinels realised they couldn't repurpose it. During recent sightings of Sentinels, they were spotted using steel tools and weapons using steel from the ship. Some of those tools were probably melted down, meaning that Sentinels learnt how to smelt steel to give in new uses.

It's very unlikely, the reason for their hostility in first place was because of a British Officer taking some children and and an elderly couple. With the elderly couple dying from disease, and the children being returned who were also diseased which is believed to have caused an outbreak. Thus leading to hatred towards foreigners who try to land on their island.

But yeah ESPECIALLY nowadays where the whole world gets another variant of asiatic flu every YEAR . We really shouldn't set a foot on that island, so many native americans died before ever even seeing an european or knowing of their existence just by the diseases which spread like wildfire. @@lisachiappetti6092 It really depends on where you get stung and how badly. A light brush with the tree likely isn't enough to drive one to suicude, but imagine falling into it, or getting it on your face, or mistakenly using it for survival toilet paper. Most demonstrations only lightly sting themselves on a small area. Suicides are caused when the stinging is much worse, and there have been cases of it happening in the past, though it's rarer today as the trees are commonly marked, or signs are put up to warn of their presence.

An interesting piece of information about the Snake Island in Brazil:
During the military dominated regime in the 1960's, the military would send prisoners, usually consisting of university students who spoke up about the oppression of freedom in the country, to the island. Many students would be lost, some showing up dead. I was watching this video in my kitchen when my mother heard the snake island part and told me that a relative of ours had actually survived their ordeal on the island, coming home extremely skinny, weak, and extremely bruised. She mentioned they went there along with their sibling, but sadly that sibling was never found. Unfortunately, our family has lost contact with them after all these years.
I couldn't find much on this topic online, probably because it was hushed away to secrecy (as the Brazilian government seems to like to do) but my mother's account of the events are vivid and personally I thought it true.

1:50 it's not THEIR law, it's OUR law. They might as well be a different species from us, or their own autonomous nation. They've been there for longer than human civilization has existed. If there is any group of people who deserve the title of 'precursor' it's these people. Leave them alone, and they'll leave us alone.

RE: Missionary who died by the hands of the Sentineiese people. I have to disagree about it being unfortunate. This man voluntarily visited an island knowing that he would be killed so he could colonize them with Christianity. Given the immune system vulnerabilities you describe soon after in the video, I could only hope he was dispatched before he could get a single person sick.
