    Champion recommends unplugging any cords before starting and before shutting the unit off. This is most likely to prevent surges on the equipment plugged into the outlet.

    Quiet my arse… for a house in a storm, ok. Camping…NO ONE wants to hear that!

      It’s actually not noisy and other campers were surprised we had it running

    We really are happy we found this video. I appreciate the "reality" of starting your generator and maybe it won't start up perfectly the first time. Thank you!

    Don't plug in the electric until you start it and run a few minutes.
    Unplug before stopping.
    Turn off propane and let it die out. Then unconnect the lpg

    SO SO glad I found this video!!! I had a heck of a time getting the generator to run on propane after Hurricane Ian but when I was fortunate enough to get it started, it was such a blessing as the exhaust was so much cleaner!! Really makes a difference when having to run it about 8 hrs to keep fridges and freezers 'topped' off. Prepping for potential power outages now so less stress when it's needed!!

    How mucho hours run with propane

    Just to clarify. WITHOUT a soft start installed, you could start and continuously run your AC in the Geo Pro?

    • @alexennes4566
      @alexennes4566 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I did soft start as insurance. Higher elevations will need gasoline not propane so like in Colorado etc.

      @@alexennes4566 I learned that this week, camping in the Grand Canyon south rim at 6,000 feet elevation. It would not power my 13.5 btu A/C unit

    What’s the east start you installed ?

  • @charlesb2589
    @charlesb2589 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Easier way to start it is to hook up propane hose, turn on tank valve, set selector to propane and just let it fill system for 5 or 7 seconds. Then turn to choke and pull handle 2 times and change back to propane. Mine always starts on the third total pull.

    • @charlesb2589
      @charlesb2589 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You also want to hook the cords up completely to prevent getting yourself lit up, especially if it happens to be wet out.

      Never connect your trailer input when power is on the cord. You can also spike the trailer’s converter doing that.

    for a person in US and has never operated a propane gas cylinder even for grilling, what are those cords that emerge from the gas cylinder and is that a regulator

    • @camilobastidas6176
      @camilobastidas6176 ปีที่แล้ว

      The regulator you see on the propane tank in the video comes included with the (champion) generator he bought, it is a specially regulated hose for the propane tank to work with this power generator. If he has another hose and regulator most likely it wouldn't work with the generator as it's not designed to. The generator unit he has can be used with gasoline or propane.

    I've heard (I'll admit I don't know why) that there is no need to put a surge protector on a generator. Maybe others can comment on this also.

    • @bear1431
      @bear1431 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because it has built in protector. That's why it is called inverter.

    You aren't choking anything. You are priming the engine with a richer fuel mixture. LOL. Funny video though.

      That’s what the manual calls it, so I went with their verbiage rather than confusing those who have one when they use it.

    Hello I have a question about using gas or the propane part of the generator can I use only the propane part of it and when I do want to use the gas part of it do I have to let it run dry so that way there is no way of corrosion inside the tank and by using only the propane will that mess up the generator and anyway and how to store it also have you had any problems with that yet

    • @gottagorvrentals4753
      @gottagorvrentals4753  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s a knob you twist to get either propane or gas. Does that help?

    • @mrspin3315
      @mrspin3315 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For starters I use non alcohol gas and then add fuel stabilizer. This can keep gas good up to 2 years! I use Stable gas stabilizer. The generator switch keeps the fuel separate (100900 model).
