  • Showing how to use Solidworks surfaces to cut a recessed surface with a variable chamfer. Also how to add a cut-through along an edge with draft at the end. Using the following Solidworks tools: offset surface, copy surface (using offset), surface trim, boundary surface, knit, cut with surface, mirror feature, extrude cut.

    Very informative video, thanks! You should be able to do all the boundary surfaces as one feature, depending on your geometry. Click Boundary surface, but before selecting the first edge, use the selection manager (right click > SelectionManager) to select the loop all the way around the edge of the surface. then do the same for the edge of the other surface. I prefer to disable the merge tangent faces option too.
