Glad you could come! I'm a member of the Regulators and had a trade blanket with my father at the event. Our club is so grateful of teaming up with Mr. Judson and keeping this event alive.

Nice to See 👀, Ive got a picture of my Ancestor The Reverend John Tansey wearing his Beaded Moccasins... taken in the 1880's he never discussed what he did before the Civil War...

Fort Ticonderoga has been holding more events like this, and they just had one a couple of weeks ago. They highlighted how soldiers would live in winter quarters but they also demonstrated daily life. They have woodcutters there with axes, crosscut saws showing how firewood was cut and split. They've had them in recent events showing how soldier's huts were built with the period correct tools, they have a team of oxen showing how if something was to be moved from once placed to another, oxen were used to do it. They also showed how clothing and laundry was kept and washed, something that was essential. How meals were prepared and what the meals of the time were. I know the next event coming up in February will have shoemaking, carpentry and soapmaking in addition to the livestock.

Excellent content. Right now, we are in Wisconsin with single-digit temperatures and over a foot of snow accumulation. I did order my Kibler Woodsrunner kit in .54 caliber and already had one emergency room visit from practicing my carving (3 stitches and a first-hand look at the Lidocaine shortage). Wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks again for the great look-in to these events.

Looks like a fun time, and definitely within driving distance of me. As much as i love the guns, learning about authentic period foods has always been a fascinating topic to me. People were practical back then and created a lot of great dishes and drinks with a more limited pallet of ingredients.

My folks moved to Indiana right after the Revolution, they were also early , The Heddens , and the Tansey/ Tansy families.
My Grandmother left me a pile of xerox copies of the Information from Wayne's County. 200 years of Tax and Marriage certificates!!!
Growing up we also had a Percussion Belt pistol from my Great Great Grandfather The Reverend John Tansey!
Part of the family was Civilized... however the information is not very clear.

What was our source for the 18C gardening? I would love to read it! If you know of any source listing reenacting events for the MN/WI area that would also be great. I love your coverage.
