      Amazing what they're going for... looking for a muscle car but I'm not sure I'm willing to pay the premium price those mopars are fetching.

    The vin on the yellow car states it originally came with a high performance 383 four barrel. L is the code for a two barrel. That makes it worth a little more over a two barrel car. Also the idea that the cars are so long that the back ends stick out from covered storage etc which causes them to rust is rediculous hyperbole. I’ve driven these cars in the winter. The back end behind the rear wheels gets so packed with snow,the salt just eats away at it. The rear window channels rust out from water retention causing a leak. This water runs under the rubber trunk mat and stays wet thereby rusting out the floor. Overall a good video,I think your valuations are accurate.

      @blackenigma6777 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree. That is not why they rust out. They rust out because they are prone to rusting out in those areas.

      @@blackenigma6777 also or at least for mine i noticed that the rubber seal's are done-poorly/design defect aka cut&shut+class-B-panels ect

      mine was mostly in the gas tank areas for rusting so far that i know about as the 3d owner 2014-now and it's mostly from rain and or dailying it in the mid-west and rocky's . wonder how much difference between years and a big block as mine is a g-code ? also mine now is a theft recovery/flood car as some-JA's though it was free-part's/joyride

      Everyone is correct. If the back was under cover wouldn't get wet or have moisture from the ground after the rains.
      Snow doesn't help.

    • @carlinshowalter1806
      @carlinshowalter1806 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd take the blue one any day. Cars like the yellow one will drive you crazy and broke trying to find all the stuff thats been stripped off. I don't care if it's a big block,those kind of builds are a large pain in the butt and take huge amounts of man hours and wheel barrows of money to complete. RUST REPAIR SUCKS!

      @@carlinshowalter1806 the factory big block cars were also typically the most abused!! Lol! Many have been wrecked and repaired, gone through many teenage owners and Smoky burnouts, multiple paint jobs, multiple blown motors, bad Bondo work, and were typically left parked outside in the elements Because by the 5th owner sometime in the mid-seventies it was owned by some teenage kid with no money and no garage to park it in! 😆

    I think you laid it all out correctly. The more intact a car is, the more it should cost. I agree with the price on the yellow car. However, the blue car should be worth considerably more. Im going to say around $45,000.

    Unfortunately with the price of the Chargers nowadays and the short supply I know I couldn't afford one in good enough shape to make a project out of. The good news is if you are a big Mopar fan I have seen some of the bigger cars like the Monocos or maybe the Newports and the like go quite reasonable in nice shape. For $10,000 you can get a project car that doesn't need everything some are fine just the way they are.

    This is the reason that young car guys hop up Honduhs and Subarus; I'm an educated, middle-aged guy making decent money and I can't afford any of this stuff because greed rules the car hobby.

      the high prices are killing the hobby. These cars are not worth the prices he estimates whether he gets it or not. I would take a nice Lexus SC430 over any of them.

    Once again... I'm absolutely SHOCKED !
    IMO, these Cars all require what basically amounts to complete restorations, which, I've been told can run anywhere $70K to $100K depending ?
    I mean I know Charger's have appreciated substantially, because I own one and get pestered the few times I've driven it over the last decade..... but I haven't really kept up with actual valuations, and the starting points of those trying to acquire/restore.
    After seeing this I wouldn't sell my unrestored/unrebuilt survivor in great condition under $125K

      no mention of 1967 to 71 ( vin/titled at the state level so yes there's gen-2 body's that got early 1967-2q-to-4q delivery and yes i tried to buy one in B-5 but had to saddle for 1st quarter 69 and a automatic as 4-speed weren't that available as a choice O-well Tr6060 time 😉) differences as to $$ as 1970 from my buying experience in 2004-14 told me 70 looks 90% the same ( not that ugly just i like 68 more in general but that decision depends upon my weekly mood like anyone one else, at least its not the k-ill-model in the 80's yuck ) ( and was tempting but didn't want the headache of changing it to 68/69 or harassment or self lying to me and others ect, i know probably stupid reason ) but about 2/3 to 1/2 as much USD-$ as my 69 charger with the same options and condition. not sure 💯if its the same now in 2022 or not on premium year

    "N" code is 383 4bbl, not 2bbl as I think I heard you say. 383 2bbl code is "L" for 1970. I would be very interested to know the basis for your appraisal. Carl Spagnuolo N.Plm.Bch, FL.
