In addition to an HK P30 SK and two 18 round spare mags molly'd to an IFAK and TQ, I keep a sling style non-tactical looking Osprey urban go bag with another med kit, two more mags, two TQ's, space sleeping bag, lightweight jacket, t-shirt, sunglasses, hat (in case I need to change my appearance), battery, several knives, small bottle of water, energy gel packets, 200$ cash, credit card, duct tape, small signal mirror, small towel, pen paper, laminated list of essential phone numbers, gloves, visine, about 100ft of paracord woven into a lanyard with various attachments, super glue and a few other things that I might need. I also carry a spare gi, belt and rash guard in my car in case I might want to roll at a random dojo somewhere unexpectedly, but it's really for friends who show up for training and forgot their gi's!!!!! hahahahahaha!
I wear eyeglasses, so I ensure that I have an extra pair in the vehicle in case something happens to my primary, along with attachable sunglasses for long rides in the sun. I have things to facilitate continued driving in the face of difficulty. E.g., Lens wipes in case my glasses get dirty. Ibuprofen in case I have a headache. Food if I get hungry. Water if thirsty. And, coffee if I need to stay alert. I have a notebook and two pens in case I need to take notes about anything. I also carry a flashlight. But to be honest, I need to up my game with the emergency stuff. Tourniquets, etc. Great video, thanks for the helpful information!
Thanks Tim for teaching the skills and knowledge that have bestowed confidence within me to attend large public gatherings in today’s turbulent society. You are a role model for what is truly just and right.
Jump box, x-long jumper cables, EDC (long & carry), survival kit, IFAK (Multi-person - 15 TQ's & STB supplies), sm. bino, 2 SDR fanny-packs filled, water, 2 days of MRE for 5, 2 golf umbrellas, shade/pop-up tent side to afix to side of truck in case needed, extra compass & signal kit, 50 ft of 500D & 50 ft of 1000D paracord, poncho liners for 4. But will be adding a seat cover, b/c that was gold right there!
Love That You Guys Have Ratchet Straps Jumper Cables And Jump Packs Im From Northern Illinois And Nobody Cares To Help Unless You Have Your Own Jumper Cables Or Jump Box But In The Snow Everybody Stops To Help If You Get Stuck In The Snow But Usually Nobody Has Tow Straps Or Chains To Pull You Out I Put Jumper Cables Ratchet Straps And A Good Hydraulic Jack In My Moms Car And She Always Said It Was Dumb Because She Didnt Know How To Use Them But It Saved Her A Few Times People Will Stop And Help An Old Lady And Having The Tools Makes Their Life ALOT EASIER
Love the video thanks ! If i may, your buddy gots you Tim and guys one more last item and its an old school manual tire pump no power grid, no sun, no problem.
Tim, I think you need to start a new “punked” series. Instead of pranking people, you go up to random GunTubers and do the same to them what you did to Matt. Call it, “popped.” lol
Things I don't commonly see which I find pretty clutch. 1. Latex gloves to assist with bloody wounds, 2. Silcock water valve key so you can get water from pretty much anywhere if they remove the valve control.
Get rid of the fix a flat and learn to plug a tire, super easy and reusable(fix multiple punctures). ATF fluid is good to have to get you out of a pinch with a way to patch holes in fluid catch pans or power steering/brake leaks. The Jumper pack is very useful. On your tools I use my vehicle tool kit for all repairs with my Jeep, when you do this you'll be surprised how much stuff you carry that you don't use (aka the 9mm socket/wrench). Good video.
Take a look at the Victorinox Rescue tool which has a window breaker, seatbelt cutter, windshield cutter, general purpose blade, flathead and Philips screwdrivers, bottle opener, toothpick and tweezers.. Basically for extrication from vehicles in an emergency. There's also the Zak Took window punch; also for emergencies for use on tempered glass. I would also add to compliment the tourniquets; chest seals and Israeli bandages.. a few abdominal pads..
Ain’t no way Matt’s not doing something with that tailgate grid thingy. Very informative and seeing that map brought me back! Crazy that’s what we all relied on before gps.
Always awesome to hear from the Top Sheepdogs! Equally amazing that most people do not own an actual paper road map these days! hahahaha! I suspect Mat was going to comment on how unorganized Tim's gear is...........just say'n!
Do a video where you audit average Joe's vehicles to see how they stack up to a standard and give advice on how they can improve. Would be fun to watch. Go to states in the southeast versus states in other areas of the country. Keep up the great content.
Have you guys gone on a nice straight, clear piece of road and tried to emergency brake from like 40 mph? How much crap comes flying? In a crash I fear you'd get killed by some of that stuff.
One of my favorite EDC items that I’ve varied for years is some sort of leatherman. Totally worth the money and has saved me so many times. BTW, can y’all do these videos on your sheep dog response site so that they don’t have to be so censored?
Great video boys. I am not sure what all the winches and straps would be used for though. Wouldn't you want more water and food, TP, clothing, blankets, etc. ?
Keep logging chain around you can use a tree as a fulcrum point you can get yourself out of a lot of jams specially if you’re on a muddy hill and a four-wheel-drive it just keeps sliding around. You can use your buddies car and counterweight your vehicle and get it unstuck.
Tim, can you make a video on supplements/protein etc. for someone in the military, lifting, jujitzu or a 9to5 person if what we all should be taking daily.
Does Texas heat affect car\truck edc at all? Such as electronics and fire extinguisher etc? I image the extreme internal heat on our vehicles take a toll on our valuable items.
I was the I don’t want the gubment tracking me type and used an Atlas on a cross country trek. Some states have state “highways” that are dirt roads or filled with cattle or have bridges that are out. Smart phones aren’t perfect but maps are way more flawed. I would only keep an Atlas if I were driving out of my area or someplace unfamiliar.
@skepticalhippo6376 I kinda wonder since hes in the texas national guard now, is he also deputized by the sheriff in the state of texas??? 🧐 I feel an internet mystery coming on. Idk how any of that shit works. I wish we could ask him lol
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the kislux leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
Always curious as a basic civ here ...expected some shocked didn't have others 🤔🗽 I got seat covers on Amazon $15 had them years even have huge front pocket for "stuff" spilled a whole McDonald's frappe on them yep waterproof claim is valid 😂
I have one for every year that came out, and I gave some of those away to young people who don’t use maps only on their cell phone if they know how to do that any day😂
Badge? Is Tim mixed up in the scandal of a police dept having officers that don’t even live in the state? I thought those guys were getting criminal charges.
Overlanding is a great hobby to help you with another angle of preparedness, just do not do the goofy rooftop tent thing they all do. It’s a terrible idea. People that have ever done long term off-road or real 4wd driving will understand why.
Tim I have the same truck you need a toilet for the kids from amazon it will fit in back of the passenger seat they collapse snacks for the kids and also you have a bunch of room in back of the seats for items that you do not need immediate access to I know your strong but your not young anymore get a torque impact wrench your lug nuts are torqued at 150ftlbs but after a while they almost seize add some water bottles and koolaid or some other flavor packs and snacks that wont melt in the heat peanuts are good for your kids your more likely to break down with your family especially in that truck ask me how I know also a level IIIA soft inserts fit in back of your back seats that f150 supercrew cab and a soft insert IIIA will stop a m80 ball round and m855 both from a 16in barrel no I didnt shoot mine I shot one at a junk yard
I have seen hours of content on what people have. Next to zero hours of content on what people know how to use. Fishing kit. Have you caught fish with it? Water purification. Have you purified water with it and drank it? Food rations. Have you prepared and eaten it? Get where I’m going? Do these influencers have the skills to use what they have. I served 28 years and never had to purify water or hunt for food etc. Does anyone know of any channels where they’re actually showing prac app?
Graybeardedgreenberet is a good one. I have no doubt a lot of the people who carry these things and show their edc know how to use and implement them, they just don’t have the time/energy/motivation to make videos about them. The Gray bearded green beret’s channel is almost exclusively field craft skills training.
This is true. I go camping (I refuse to call it Overlanding) with a rig set up and a few guys that I know and there’s a few guys in my group that go with me that wouldn’t have the slightest clue how to use 90% of all the crap they have. They also have 10 times as much sh*t as I do. When you know how to use thingsless is more. If you have something in your possession and someone where to ask you “just what exactly are you going to do with that and what scenario would you use it in?” and you can’t answer the question then you don’t need it.
What's the one essential item you always keep in your vehicle for emergencies? Share your must-haves below!
Bailing wire
Electric fence wire.

Jumper cables and tow strap. More for helping others than anything else.

The seat protector such an under rated piece of kit.
Tim is one of the most admirable men in this whole planet. Hats off to you, sir.
Thanks Tim for teaching the skills and knowledge that have bestowed confidence within me to attend large public gatherings in today’s turbulent society. You are a role model for what is truly just and right.
My pleasure. It’s a team effort.
It’s scary that he teaches it to evil crooked cops too.

I bought a road atlas last year for Christmas for my family. Awesome tool
One thing I keep is a battery powered Impact Wrench and the Sockets. Makes changing a Tire in a area that may turn bad really quick.
Very smart! I'll add impact wrench to my carry. Thanks.
Excellent episode guys, and really hit the nail on the head about the kids visually seeing the setup and carrying that mentality.
Love the video thanks ! If i may, your buddy gots you Tim and guys one more last item and its an old school manual tire pump no power grid, no sun, no problem.
O wow, I learned a lot just from this video. Thanks, guys!
Pretty Cool! I mostly carry lots of mechanic tools because I drive a jeep and you know... it like to break down.
Tim, I think you need to start a new “punked” series. Instead of pranking people, you go up to random GunTubers and do the same to them what you did to Matt. Call it, “popped.” lol

“Popped”
I'd watch the hell out of that.

Recovery gear, onboard air compressor, noco jump pack, first aid all I have in the 4Runner.

Very informative and seeing that map brought me back! Crazy that’s what we all relied on before gps.
Duct Tape, Coldsteel tomahawk, work gloves, trash bag, sunscreen (I live in Florida), bug spray, lotion, chapstick, 1/2" Velcro tape, Kevlar thread and needle, collapsible baton, glass breaker, butt wipes

That slight pause before wonderful wives 😅 Love you guys, Love the content ,keep up the good work
If you haven’t heard of OsmAnd or Avenza, they’re offline maps. Avenza is the standard in wildland fire.

How about a colab with The Minimalists.😆 Also, I'm going to re up my princess book preps 🧚🏻♀️
And for the pew. New phrase " cordless hole bunch".

A badge? Is Tim Kennedy a deputy somewhere or something I didn’t know about? -if so, hell yeah
Tim, can you make a video on supplements/protein etc. for someone in the military, lifting, jujitzu or a 9to5 person if what we all should be taking daily.
I’d add extra car alarm, car security stuff (in Austin) they steal anything, even my car owner’s manual

Tim, you have a lot of stuff in your truck!
Fuses and hose clamps. They take no room but can keep you on the road.
What’s the name of the bag Matt Smith had in his front seat?
5:24 what’s the badge for?
Exactly what I was wondering
“I have a big huge tool….. kit” 😂😂😂💪
Good stuff!
You are more powerful than the creator of TH-cam by such a long shot it’s not even funny.
Tim Kennedy is the kind of guy who would’ve been an ATF agent in Waco.
Absolute loved this!!!!!!
How come you don’t have a tire plugging kit I have one I can plug tires right on the rim.
God I Love America and thanks for showing us that beautiful Hoyt (Tim could learn a thing or two from you)

WAY more snacks for my feral kids
Honestly thought I'd see at least 2 rifles.
Im one of the dumb vets I guess, what’s in the “secret” truck backpack
A truck g0n. Collapsible stock. Ammo.
🔥👍🤟🏼
You also need a hat holster with a pocket to hold the keys to your missile launcher.

Most of it fits in the storage compartments under the seats. You set it once and pull it out when needed for emergency situations.
