It’s not just the quality of the welds or the depth of knowledge that impresses - it the generosity of the author. I think the community is grateful to you for all three.
I ran across this video and was so amazed to see someone doing exactly the same thing I did for a living for about 3 years. I learned a great deal about TIG welding 1 1/2 inch square stainless and TIG welding in general from my employer. He covered a great deal of the squaring and shrinkage issues in his instructions to me and I was very happy to learn these skills. I learned even more from this very informative video. I give you a perfect mark for showing accurate and very useful information. Excellent video ! !
There are certain individuals who have the ability to teach by showing as well as explaining a very intricate process. I have relied on your tutorial and enjoyed your teachings to improve my own abilities in a trade I absolutely love so thank you for that!!!..
What a great job. You make things look easy, certainly a lot of good tools, excellent technique and outstanding professionalism. Enjoy your vids quite a bit. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into making this possible.
Excellent...... Awesome, this is why I'm in school, and these super high quality videos are what puts this channel far, far above almost all the other ones. Jody has this stuff down straight. The editing is superb and sound quality is crystal clear. Thank you again Jody. Jim
jody you are being humble about the choices ( maybe 2 or 3 channels where you can sometimes pick up something). i`ve been here for some years and i`m always learning something new. i watch and practice practice practice.so much respect for a man that helps others earn a living. regards. pete
Yes sir i might have alot of other choices of channels to watch but why? Yours s simply the best. Most informative. You talk and explain everything slowly so us rookies can watch and actually retain the info you give us. Plus your personality makes people feel comfortable learning. Honestly most other peoples channels are usual with an arrogant know it all teacher. Thank you for your time and effort sir. Youve really helped me in my welding. Ive built literally ever item on my jeep wangler because of you and your knowledge. I would never be able to afford to buy them otherwise and im very proud of it. Again thank you sir
Thanks again Jody, with all due professionalism and respect to all parties, Mr.Tig is at the bottom of the totem pole here, a true professional at omitting facts as opposed to tried and true methods guys like you practice. thanks again for not bullshitting me
When i went to school we made several V-joints with thick steel, Worked around the shrinkage by placing a MMA stick (OK 48.00) on the starter side, And a bigger electrode on the other side.
I've looked at many channels, but this channel and your presentation skills Jody, make it my go-to channel and the one I recommend the most... great work, and many thanks for the ongoing education you're providing me.
I know this is an old video, but I would like to thank you for putting this up, Jody. I'm just starting out and your videos have been incredibly helpful. Thanks!
Man these videos are going to help a a TON when i get to school at the end of the month. i really appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.
Helpful video! (as usuall, i bought a TIG machine a few months ago, and your videos were a real guide for me to start welding aluminum. I also found it helpful for a T-joint (with 2 square steel tubes in my situation) To do a weld on the left side, and immediately do a weld on the right side. Then check, do the other sides and it all ended up very straight. Another way is to keep a little gap, do one side, align, and do the other.
This video was packed with good information. I'm learning everything about welding from your videos and I have a good start practicing with my powertig welder.
I loved watching this video. Nothing teaches better than watching an application of the lesson. Next time I've got the everlast welder out I'm going to keep these wonderful tips in mind.
your videos are extremely informative at least to me, being fairly new to Tig welding. especially aluminum... I just can't understand what kind of person other than a know it all. would give any of your videos a 👎... I have learned a lot from all of your videos.. thank you..
A big thank you for all your work! I learn something from every Video. Most of the "real world" knowledge that I have gained about tig welding has come from you channel. I am slowly improving my skills. Thanks again A
Be carefull when welding w magnets drew, years ago i could not figure out why when mig welding the arc was doing weird things and it was the magnet i had on the underside of the piece, once i removed it all was good. just watch the placement of them, also heat is not good on a magnet. As far as this video i really think this a great video, will put this to use, ive fought w stainless alot at work and this will help greatly. Thanks..
I love your videos, I'm 15 and I am about to do a fabrication and welding apprenticeship an your videos are helping me so much, thanks heaps I'm your number 1 fan haha👌🏾
I don't know how to weld, never tried but one day would love to give it a go. I love watching people weld and love seeing a very nice weld after it is done.
you always seem to know what subjects to cover just when I need them :),great videos I'm just saving to buy the dvds now.i couldn't do without the tig finger
I wish the video was a little longer, with a couple more examples :) But in any case thank you for taking the time to produce these fantastic instructional videos...
Great vid, a suggestion, maybe you could do/post a vid where you show how to undo some of the pulling with a post heat. i.e. if it pulls to much out of square you can go in and lightly heat the inner joint to allow the weld stresses on the outside of the corner to pull it back.
Man, I wish I learned to tig weld at a school instead of being self taught. I have so many bad habits. Like I noticed you dab the filler while just moving the tip linearly. I'm the opposite, I move the tip in small swirls while keeping the filler stationary. I am going to have to try that dabbing thing. Thanks as always for the videos.
It's such a beautiful thing to watch, it's like art and I want very much to learn how to weld. Hopefully I'll have the funds to do so soon. Great video, mate.
Hi Jody. Love all your work here. I'm working with conveyors and having trouble getting mitred tubes to end up square especially after a gusset is welded in. Would you consider doing a very similar vid to this but with tubing highlighting how to sequence welds to help keep it square?
Good video...however...for the people that are just starting out in trying to learn this field, out of all the videos I have seen, nobody discusses duty cycle. I can only wonder how many machines have been returned due to burn out which would give the product a bad rep. You are the best I have seen as far as info and bead lay down...Maybe you could discuss this in your next tuto.
Thank you for your videos! I been coming back and seeing what works with you and applying it with my stuff. For example, the 309 filler rods, I can’t seem to find many videos explaining what metals it can be used on. At the end of the day I try to experiment with my rods, welds exc.
Hi I'm a fitter welder in NewZealand & found your videos great to teach our apprentices & after 30 years Im still picking up tips Have you anything on tig work with copper on the pipe line
Great video. Something I struggle with frequently. And I went to welding school. Haha. Still have a lot to learn. Picked up the Lincoln mp210 recently. I like it a lot so far. Not used to having it pre select the welding parameters though. That's new to me. My mig welds are a little high. Not sure if that's a wire speed issue or a travel speed. I like pretty flush welds with great penetration.
hey Jody I just got done doing a weld test for a job where u had to use .045 wire over head down hill and horizontal can you use all those joints with the same settings
Jody, I'm really learning a lot with your video's and the TIG FINGER is the coolest tool, pun intended. Keep the video's coming, I have noticed most of your videos your using fresh new metal, I was wandering if you have any advice for tig welding vintage car sheet metal that has been media blasted. or have you ever used the tig torch to heat metal for brazing. Thanks
Hi Jody , quick question I'm new at tif welding I've welded with oxy accet brazing I was told it's something similar, is there a difference on welding steel and aluminum ? And the difference in ac and dc for welding ether one. Always looking forward to your next tips and tricks thank you
This is an awesome channel, great tips. I don't tig weld but would like to. Any tips on equipment to get started? BTW beautiful beads laid down in this video. Thanks
thank you so much Jody..i learn a lot of tips and trick from your video/you tube...from basic to advance..although the video just a few minute but it worth it and i'll keep practice as you shown to become a perfect welder.. thanks again..
What about welding distortion on something a bit more complex, like a steel, round tube, trellis motorcycle subframe? would the use of a jig be enough to control it? I've seen many builders videos in which they don't say a word about nor even seem to actually care about it. They just... weld
my name is s.ali I am Pakistani job in uae. Sir, you are great. I don't know welding. I see your video 📹 and I am try in time ⌚ I am the best welder in my company. thx😍
Interesting video. While TIG is demonstrated here, will these distortion prevention strategies work for any process? Are some processes more likely to cause distortion?
What size filler metal did Roy use? Been welding at work around a year or so. I love it. So much I'm going to buy a good Ac, DC tig machine. Have any tips on a good machine? Looking at the Lincoln Square wave 200
Great welds, what's the settings ,electrode size and electrode stick out length ?? do you use stainless mig wire for filler rod, cheers Dave (FLASH)...

i am a body repair guy,and your welding channel is the best bar none. thank you for making it here and sharing with us
Jody we do not have many choices on here, your channel is in depth that's why I like it, plus all your arc shots are pretty awesome.
+903Spencer its this or funny cats!
+krusher74 Welding is better than cats any day.
I agree. Even without the fancy editing other channels have Jody's stuff is better for improving your technique.
im a self taught stainless steel welder of 14 years and by god if i didnt just learn something new from this video
There are certain individuals who have the ability to teach by showing as well as explaining a very intricate process.
I have relied on your tutorial and enjoyed your teachings to improve my own abilities in a trade I absolutely love so thank you for that!!!..
Jody, i would never choose another channel. I've learned so much from you. Thank you for your time and effort making these videos!

You have a great methiod of teaching. Please keep the videos coming.

Hey Jody, was crumby using the new speedglas 9100XXi, awesome hood!
Had an issue just today doing some 1" SS round tubing on 45deg cuts. Will try to apply some of this tomorrow!! Thanks Jody!
Colin
I loved watching this video. Nothing teaches better than watching an application of the lesson. Next time I've got the everlast welder out I'm going to keep these wonderful tips in mind.
Roy is a heck of a welder, that was amazing to watch!
A vederti lavorare sei uno spettacolo, la saldatura per te non ha segreti, complimenti!
Very helpful and well explained and excellently filmed. Thanks. You have saved me some frustration into the future.
I coulda used this knowledge two weeks ago when I built my table frame. good to know for my next one
no other welding channel comes close. thanks for that.
Those welds are spectacular.
As always, you do the welding community a service. Thanks Cody

Great video and awesome welding shots. I really like how that furick cup illuminates everything. I've got to try one of those on my everlast welder.
This is exactly the tip i needed. I've been having some problems keeping things square when welding with my powertig.
I love your videos, I'm 15 and I am about to do a fabrication and welding apprenticeship an your videos are helping me so much, thanks heaps I'm your number 1 fan haha👌🏾
Always good I pick up stuff in every of your videos . Both of you make the welding look easy.
I don't know how to weld, never tried but one day would love to give it a go. I love watching people weld and love seeing a very nice weld after it is done.

Warning to you guys. It's addictive. You'll be going around to neighbors looking for something to weld.
you always seem to know what subjects to cover just when I need them :),great videos I'm just saving to buy the dvds now.i couldn't do without the tig finger
That was the best weld video I've ever watched. Very Inspiring work there Roy!
A very nice technique for getting things square. Keep on making great videos.

Roy is one hell of a welder! Beautiful work.
jody can you give some tips on stopping warping on ladder rungs or ramps for a vehicle or motorbike
Hi Jody. Love all your work here. I'm working with conveyors and having trouble getting mitred tubes to end up square especially after a gusset is welded in. Would you consider doing a very similar vid to this but with tubing highlighting how to sequence welds to help keep it square?

Hey jody great video as always, for me you are the best easiest vloger to watch. many thanks
Great tips Jody.
Very informative. What thickness is that base metal? I was also wondering if you could do a video on very thin aluminum like .020 pipe to pipe
Hi I'm a fitter welder in NewZealand & found your videos great to teach our apprentices & after 30 years Im still picking up tips Have you anything on tig work with copper on the pipe line
thats so cool you can actually see it moving together
Great video. Something I struggle with frequently. And I went to welding school. Haha. Still have a lot to learn. Picked up the Lincoln mp210 recently. I like it a lot so far. If after cooling the joint has still wider than square, would going over the inside fillet bead again with the torch close the angle more?
Haha nice Jody, had to show the beer in the background. Thank you as always, I learn so much.
I appreciate all the knowledge u put out for us noobs so thank you sir 🙏🏻
thank you so much Jody..i learn a lot of tips and trick from your video/you tube...from basic to advance..although the video just a few minute but it worth it and i'll keep practice as you shown to become a perfect welder.. thanks again..
Another amazing and educative video, thanks for sharing your knowledge... Greetings from Argentina.
hey jody, can you do video on C.J.P welding? I like the stainless welding. reminds me of when I worked at Mopec.
Such a great channel. Thank you for everything you post.
Great video! Gave me the idea of using an airline in the future to get that extra to be more square.

Very cool, learned something ! Hey, do You or have You used pickeling gel to clean stainless ? I have been told it works good, wondering if it's true.
Is there (ever) a risk for high stress in the joints? Is so how do one know? ..and can they be cured with some mild heat treatment after-the-fact?
What size filler metal did Roy use?
Been welding at work around a year or so. I love it. So much I'm going to buy a good Ac, DC tig machine. Have any tips on a good machine? Looking at the Lincoln Square wave 200
Beautiful, Roy really know what he's doing and thanks a bunch for the video Jody!
Another fine piece to the puzzle.
Thank you for sharing.
Great video. I recently had problems with war page and now I will try this method. What was the machine set at when you did this? 100amps?
Great welds, what's the settings ,electrode size and electrode stick out length ?? do you use stainless mig wire for filler rod, cheers Dave (FLASH)...
