That opening scene is a direct shot for shot remake from the movie Cliffhanger with Sylvester Stallone. It’s funny how Ace mentions The Shawshank Redemption because Bob Gunton (Burton Quinn) is the warden in that movie. That rhino scene is one of the best moments in cinematic history
Bumblebee Tuna everyone!! When I went to see this at the cinema with my aunt and cousins - I ended up with tears in my eyes and cramps in my stomach. Very, VERY happy day 😊
The Rhino "birth" scene is still a favourite of mine . Carrey is so extra in his behaviour. The opening scene with the raccoon is a parody of the Sylvester Stallone Cliffhanger movie
The warrior that Ace Ventura flights is one of the cast members on the funny tv show IN LIVING COLOR witch Jim Carrey also appeared on with the Wayne brothers
Ace being trapped in the mechanical rhino and struggling to get out and making it look like the rhino’s giving birth to him is the best and funniest scene! LOL 🤣
Fun fact, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang song was totally unscripted. Jim did that off the cuff and the director loved it. You can see the other guy break character at the last second right before they come through the trees.
And when he did that the other guy trying not to laugh but after that he did and left in the movie and im glad they did. Ps in the top ten jim carry unscented in movie and it hit number 6 in it.
Jim Carrey actually didn't like the idea of Ace having fear of bats because he thought it was out of character & he did have an argue with the director about it. Carrey suggested that Ace should have an allergy for bats instead. Even though the batphobia is funny in the movie, I have to agree that the allergy suggestion makes much more sense. Jim really didn't want to do this sequel at all, but he had to because of contract obligation. Jim was one of those actors who didn't like to do sequels & reprise a role, & back then when they were planning to make a The Mask 2 I'm pretty sure he didn't look forward to make it at all, but was very relieved when that movie got cancelled. But when he got older & he wasn't in his heyday anymore, he was more willing to do sequels with Dumb & Dumber 2 & the sequels for Sonic the Hedgehog movie. It was an apple core he took out of the tribes man. There was no point on turning off the lights because it was daytime & it was daylight inside 😂😜
Yes exactly! That’s why he’s the best comedian, because he’s very versatile. He plays different characters in all of his movies and doesn’t like to play the same character twice. The only other comedian who’s just as versatile as him is Robin Williams
"Hello Ace! I got captured, no sweat!" Every scene with Ouda is a delight 😃 he's just so joyful, even when translating the most dire of news. And always so eager to help Ace 😅
The scene that Ace said the old man you must be the monopoly guy it's true he kind a look alike but the missing parts of him is the hat, the glasses and the cane too.
Fuck yes. This is one of my favourite movies as a kid. I saw it for thr first time on TV without knowing it was a sequel and didn't see the first one until years later.
Opinions..was this better than part 1? I'd say so.. was waaaaay smarter.. ace ventura is something jim could reboot and it would be so relevant today..what controversy he could expunge on todays socitey 😂 this is genius ❤
My mum showed me these movies as a kid, because i was really starting to like Jim Carey. I watched The Mask a lot. These became another set of wear-the-tapes-out childhood classics. I didn't understand the adult jokes at all until i got much older, had the talk and sex-ed and all that.😂
“Inner child” ok whatever 🙄 He brings out his talent in each role, that’s why he’s the best comedian ever. He’s the most amazingly talented and versatile comedian in cinema history
2:38 you seem surprised?? that IS actually how many birds feed their young..by regurgitating what they just ate. and there are other animals that do this as well. welcome to nature, lady!
One of Jim Carrey's funniest works of the 1990s and throughout his entire career. Watching your reactions to the Ace Ventura films was among the best parts of my day(s).
The crazy tribesman that beats the crap out of Ace is played by Tommy Davidson who was Jim Carrey's fellow castmember (well, one of them) on the show that would start his career "In Living Color"
Watching again so many years after the fact..am already enamoured by the friggin first scene lol the chitty chitty one... The stupid symbolism right there is....its monty python level genius.. ace ventura is cheff kiss..
🔔 MARY CHERRY 🍒 @ 8:50: JIM CARREY'S FILM ROLE* IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO THIS MOVIE WAS AS EDWARD NYGMA aka THE SUPER-VILLIAN "THE RIDDLER", WHO LOST SPECTACULARLY AGAINST BATMAN AND WENT COMPLETELY BONKERS. Speaking of Bats there was a Sci Fi Thriller from the 90s called bats that’s really good. Ironically the guy who plays Burton Quinn is also in that movie
"You must be the Monopoly guy?" "Do not pass go, do not collect $200!" I think this scene might be why everyone thinks the Monopoly Guy wears a monocle.
Both Ace Ventura movies are hilariously funny. Even with the parts that some would find gross, they are movie that you can't help but laugh at. I am curious to know if you will be reacting to the Alien Romulus trailer or it's movie when it comes out?
Ace Ventura is one of those great characters that's endlessly quotable they just don't make movies like this anymore and that is probably my biggest problem with "cancel culture" if a movie like this came put today it would get torn to shreds they ban or cancel it and anyone in it. I wish we could get back to a time when movies like Ace Ventura, Happy Gilmore, Trading Places, Superbad or even Tropic Thunder could get made again.
When you were asking if the guys were Australian, it made me remember a movie with someone who definitely was. There was an Australian comedian who had a minor movie hit in North America back in the late 80s called Young Einstein that would be fun to see you give a watch.
The opening scene with the raccoon is almost a shot for shot parody of the excellent Sylvester Stallone action movie "CLIFFHANGER ". If You get an opportunity to watch that movie as well as Stallone's other movies from the 90's to the mid 2000"s you should do so.
When ace was driving through the jungle with the other guy beside him and he starts singing chitty chitty bang bang, that whole scene was improvised by jim carrey
oh yes!! Was hoping you'd react to the sequel. So Fn funny. I also find it funny that he's trying to rescue a bat, then later Jim Carey is Riddler in Batman Forever lol

Woooow. You are so beautiful.
Jim Carrey crawling out of a Rhino is the Mona Lisa of comedy.
Excellent way of putting that 😆
Ace Ventura walked 🦏 so the Brothers Grimsby could run 🐘

People were losing their minds in the theater. 🤣
Look kids it's giving birth!
The miracle of life ^_^
"Did you just refer to me as White Devil?"
"This how they know you."

Well tell them I'm not.

I always liked the line that i use to say to my girlfriend.

The next scene is also a nod to a Stallone movie (Rambo 3) which opens with Rambo hiding out in a monastery.
Bumblebee Tuna everyone!!

Bumblebee tuna!
lol same
The rhino scene at the theater, I didn't know if I was laughing more at the movie or at the hilarious laughter of the rest of the audience 😂😂😂
🤡
The racoon drop from the wire scene was a parody after Stallone's Cliffhanger, if you'd remember that, you'd find it funny too.😄
I'm not so sure I'd call it funny. Yes it's a parody, but it's still kinda heart wrenching to see.
@@AurochhunterNo. 🤡
The chitty chitty bang bang bit was all Jim. His improv is top tier

"This is a lovely room of death."
I've had this quote jump into my head, too many times, while seeing someone's personal space the first time.
For a 10-year-old boy, this movie was Citizen Kane. I didn't realize how often I reference it to this day.
Citizen Kane. 😂
Kinda hot in these rhinos 😂
22:20 The tall one is Bruce Spence, the Gyro Pilot from Mad Max 2. He's definitely an Aussie.
An absolute legend
as australian as they come

Lil pup mad he can't offer any facts 😂 @@mcn.97
I came here to say this lmao
Yeah it was unscripted because Jim forgot his line at that point and instead of just stopping he adlibbed that part.

The spear in the thighs scream is, and always will be, one of the great comedy moments.
It's funny that the same year this movie came out in 1995 BATMAN FOREVER also came out an Jim Carrey played THE RIDDLER

You just passed the main event of the comedy
The beginning of the movie, where the racoon fell, was a parody to a Stallone's movie called Cliff hanger
Ace Ventura: when you have absolutely no impulse control or verbal filter but are really about those animals. 😂
Beauty of reactions is this felt like a drop off so I haven't really seen it since I was as a kid. But, this is still a pretty funny movie.
