      Hey Tyler thanks for the lesson but on the tab version the tab is until the A note on the G string after that we have no tab ? is it meant to be like that or there is another tab file with the rest of the intro solo

      I know this does not represent the desires of all your subscribers, but would you consider doing a series of videos avout jazz guitar composition and modal improvisation ? Because getting from mode theory to actual practice that does not look like simple ascending and descending scales is tricky. :-)

    Great lesson. I've already begun to explore Wes Montgomery's music. Wes was an inspiration to many great jazz guitarists and continues to inspire many to this day. He's definitely an inspiration to the late Allan Holdsworth. And my all-time favorite guitarist Daryl Stuermer would be nowhere without Wes.

    Listen to the Smokin' At The Half Note version of Four on Six. Holy. Freakin'. Crap. My favorite jazz guitar piece that I've ever heard. Also check out Cottontail on So Much Guitar. Blazing speed like you can't even believe. Four on Six is still one of my favorite things to play on guitar though and a great riff. I literally play it almost every time I pick up my guitar.

      Many don't learn how to read sheet music. The know all their theory by ear though, and they can hear chord changes and play over them.

    • @TheZPil
      @TheZPil 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Every jazz standard has a backing track, there's even an app, called irealpro, with backing tracks for standards.

    hOW do you get that gorgeous jazz tone?

    • @DerisedEgami
      @DerisedEgami 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Roll the tone knob back and use a clean channel. Flatwound strings will round the tone out, even more.

    Can you do Kurt Rosenwinkel?

    • @timmyhesketh04
      @timmyhesketh04 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a semi-hollow PRS

    • @owenhu9465
      @owenhu9465 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      sorry... i meant a non fully hollow guitar as opposed to the hollow l5 that wes played

    • @rhainellis531
      @rhainellis531 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Owen Hu best you could do to get the tone would be to have it on clean and roll the tone knob back, maybe to like 2-6. Looks like he's got it on the bridge pickup but can't really tell, possibly it's the middle pickup

    • @rocknroll341
      @rocknroll341 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds to me like he's blending in the Piezo system as well as using the pickups. The piezo basically is a microphone/pickup that picks up sound from underneath the bridge. Makes it sound more like an unplugged guitar. More like an acoustic if you will.
