On the last exercise (the descending pentatonic run), for the 2 picking strokes, are you alternate picking? If so, is it a downstroke then upstroke type thing?
Personally I use a Jazz III XL and a Wegen Gypsy pick…but everyone has their own preferences. This video gives some tips on what you want out of a pick: th-cam.com/video/SRitX_ASz6I/w-d-xo.html
I have them partially grown out because I play classical guitar as well. I'd like to have them fully grown but with hybrid picking on a steel string it just isn't possible.
Hey Max, thanks for this, this is great. I’m not sure the position of my right hand is correct, it looks like what you’re doing but my middle finger insists on picking with the upper side of the fingernail rather than the ball of the finger. Is it supposed to be like that? I can’t see how else the middle finger can pull the string when the pick is perpendicular to the strings. I haven’t found any vids discussing how to position the hand/ wrist correctly and I want to get it 100% right from the start. Thanks mate!
Hi, I'm actually not entirely sure what your describing. I'd be more than happy to help if you want to send me an email through my website and shoot me a video or picture. That way I can actually address what's happening. It's just too hard to give you a straight answer without actually seeing the problem.
just what I needed...Thanks...

Hey bro, I loved this video. New subscriber. You mention the need for a THICK pick. Can you make some actual pick recommendations? Much obliged.

Great Job!
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Nice lesson, Max. One question, do you have your nails grown out, are you using the flesh of the fingers or nails for the strings?
I have them partially grown out because I play classical guitar as well. I'd like to have them fully grown but with hybrid picking on a steel string it just isn't possible.
Nice!
Thanks!

@@MaxRichMusic Thank you, I will
When you’re doing the last lick, do you usually play it as quintuplets or sixteenth notes?
It's played as quintuplets.
I'm a lefty, so I struggle with the...um...what's it called? oh yeah - the guitar! Maybe I'm dyslexic, too because I see tab as being upside down.
❤😊
Its not the dumble? 😂
Shhh 🤫 don’t tell 😂
