@@jackl2257 I can assure you that it's far more than button mashing, as that won't get you anywhere in duels. The overswinging is necessary for gameplay and even KCD does it. KCD was horrible to play with mouse and keyboard (though I did love the game as an RPG). many swordfighting games had much better control-designs. However, even the best would never be good enough to simulate an actual swordfight. Maybe, you could with a VR set, if it tracks your limbs as well.
edi how is it horrible to play? I’m talking about the animations, forms and techniques in the game. You can’t compare a game where block is just putting your sword in front of your face to KCD. You and me both know it’s way more realistic and the developers has put in way more efforts in to making it closer to real combat. I like mordhaul for its large multiplayer battles and weaponry, but it’s really wont make a sense for hema practitioners to react to it, for it’s nothing like what they do.
theres a lot outside in the game, they could show the sieges, the 2~4v1 fights, even the 5~6v1 battles (almost impossible to win if you arent a master on the battle mechanics). the combat with every weapon (and the brutal advantage that using polearms has comparated to swords)

They should also show the meme side of games, like with Siege, instead of like regular clips or competitive ones, they should show stuff like RussianBadger's vids, if they show Arma they show SovietWomble or Rimmy clips, that'll be fun seeing them count the warcrimes being committed.

I'm curious about that too. Some of the vanilla executions could work very well in a practical environment. But for the most part, newer executions are more about flair than kill confirmation, so they tend to go overboard with it. Whereas most of the earlier Warden executions were clean and efficient, latter ones down the line are more boastful and distracting in a real life situation.

Whoever 'casts' these experts is great, hope to see more of these goofs
Aww i wish they showed the pommel bashing when they mentioned cause thats actually in game
theres a lot outside in the game, they could show the sieges, the 2~4v1 fights, even the 5~6v1 battles (almost impossible to win if you arent a master on the battle mechanics).
the combat with every weapon (and the brutal advantage that using polearms has comparated to swords)
As a member of the SCA who has worked on swordplay for the past decade this game really drew me in with the fact that it tried to be more accurate than it wasn't. Really love getting the HEMA take on things as well!
'Homo sapiens' reacting to 'Far cry primal' would've been great
Yeah, we don't fight bears with our bare hand anymore, that's a bit unrealistic. Unless we are talking about russians, but they are barely homo sapiens.
This game is so good that I played it on 800x600 lowest settings 20-40 fps and still enjoyed it very much!
That's awesome.
It was kind of sad to hear him say that there is no direct lineage of swordsmanship/teachings from those days. We will never know how they actually fought and what true mastery would've looked like.
there are manuscripts tho, but lots is left to the imagination
This game was so underrated to a degree where I'm really sad for the devs
But the result was better then devs thought and was a big success overall. They needed at least 500k sells and now it's over 4m. And It gave them what they needed for future games to be better. I am a big fan of Daniel Vávra (main dev) and what he is doing, even thou im not a history guy.
@@DaweSlayer I just saw this comment, well this is good news to say the least. I forgot how seperate is relevancy from actual profit in some cases. Really happy to hear that.
No they need about a million sales
Easily one of the best videos you guy's have made thus far! Would love to see more with these HEMA instructors!
I love this game. I can't wait for Kingdom Come 2
I feel like we will be waiting a while, even a couple of years. Have you heard about the KCD series that Netflix is making? Development for the sequel game will be stopped until the series is finished.
@@2muchbeenz373 Netflix has but 1 guy from WH overseeing the story somehow, and probably limited if any power over actual outcome. Heck we don't even know if it will actually materialize in some show.
Rest assured KC2 is being developed with no regard to Netflix. WH employs about 160 ppl now all full throttle on new game. But years? Yes possible, likely.
@@vine01 good to hear. KCD is my favourite rpg
@@2muchbeenz373 Before half year Daniel Vavra (main gamedesigner) spoke about Kingdom Come Delivernce on some livestream, and once he called game like "Kingdom Come One".
@@caifothiazz He also said, before the first game was released, in czech, that they had to split the story into 3 parts. In other words, it is a trilogy.
Honestly I’m just glad they called it ‘football’ and not ‘soccer’
EDIT: Dear god...what have I done...?!
Well it’s soccer so 🤷♂️
J. Mars I mean technically you may call it that so yes, but no it’s actually football
@@JMars-qe3pk Its football, you kick a ball with your foot.
@@cleshsesh6155 well with that said, we could refer to Amercian Football or Rugby as "runball", if you want to get into technicalities
Damon Campbell yeah but there’s a basket and a ball in basketball and rugby was invented in rugby where as American football has no reason to be called football other than in punting and kicking field goals which is a tiny percentage of the game
The studio aimed for the best realism, and to know that they got most things right when it comes to these is so great to know!
Recently found this game, its amazing how immersive and realistic it is! One of my favorites of all time
It is the only game where I actually find the alchemy and weapon maintenance genuinely fun. It isnt just a dumb menu. You are actually repairing your own sword or brewing your own potions. It is just so fun.
You should have shown them all the other more complex counter attacks and sword tricks that are in this game. You missed out on so much potential
Also they said something about them not showing half swording techniques. But they are literally in the game you just didnt do your research correctly
Yeah,I do notice this channel just shows their reactors the basic stuff.
@@atomic747 they are missing out on so much. Instead of showing some basic gameplay maybe just search up a video about all the sword tricks available in this game or buy the game and do it yourself its not that hard. Well maybe this gets seen by them and they make a part 2 with more complex stuff.
They should also show the meme side of games, like with Siege, instead of like regular clips or competitive ones, they should show stuff like RussianBadger's vids, if they show Arma they show SovietWomble or Rimmy clips, that'll be fun seeing them count the warcrimes being committed.
He said "not enough" not "not at all".
@@sickmit3481 you say that but kdcd is very hard
This game nailed it so well. And even locations are inspired by real places in Bohemia. Amazing game.

thanks for listening to the community!
KCD got me interested in HEMA and I found out there is a trainer in my town!
It's really cool that this game takes into account literally everything they are saying. There are strikes to the hand, blunt weapons are better against heavier enemies, hunting is only legal in your own land or your Lord's land with permission.
There are also piles of human waste in many cities and villages too. Waste is even dealt with in the castles. That really impressed me.
Yes they finally did Kingdom Come Deliverance!
Scuba Divers react to Subnautica
I think the main thing that they would talk about is the games Lack of pressure

That mission where you reach the castle at night I never wanted it to end the night time Combat on this game feels so incredible
The “its abaout who is behind you” part is so true in the game bandit camp are difficult because you always are overwhelmed by enemies and you have to figure out quickly where is every bandit. Also if you don’t, it means that you collect less bandit ears and you get less money.
Bandits/Cumans start running away only after you kill the leader of the camp, thats why you ALWAYS save the captain for last, otherwise they will all bolt.
@@ExtremeMan10 Actually if you kill the leader first then yes, they will run but after like 2 minutes they all come back to the camp. They might try to run away again but just finish them one by one, wait in the camp for others to return and you don't even have to fight them properly.
"So boy, want a sword?"
"Sure dad!"
"Well, do you wanna go with medival terms or starbucks?"
"Starbucks, id like a 16 pound, double edged, non cymetrical, vegan lethergripped, big crossguarded, clenched not heat treated thank you."
"I was just kidding. Want a normal sword or a long sword?"
Other son: “Can I get mine soy?”
“I hope you realize what a disappointment you both are”
"attacking low is stupid"... one of the most common ways to get around the shield was attack the ankles.
very risky because you open up your entire upper body and head. which they have mentioned it was a risk.
As a bit of reenactor and hema fighter myself, I definitely enjoyed the combat system i this game. Jumped right into hardcore and as henry levelled up it was nice to see things actully starting to work as I expected :D And devs really did great job in making the fight somehow less chaotic than it is yet very intense.. would love to see more wrestling and knockdown mechanics included but i can imagine the deeper one goes the more its complicated.
Glad I followed my grandfather's instructions that I should at least learn "kendo". And seeing them somehow jealous because of the lineage sure made me proud even as a half blooded Japanese.
Do you enjoy the sport. Is it part of your hobby?
@@lucasart328 It's more of a hobby now. There's a charm and kind of discipline only you will find in kendo (imo) once you practice the art.
@@ichiroutakashima4503 How good are you? I've been wanting to learn it, my father has taught me various tricks from his time learning Ninjutsu.
@@andreasballe7470 I won't say I'm good. I'm 四段 and that was until 4th year in high school I had other priorities.
I still practice the art as part of my exercise routine but not as much back then where it's considered an academic and club activity.
How would you say do Kendo and Kenjutsu differ? All I know is in Kendo you tend to wear actual armor for sparring battles.
There were complex historical sword techniques in game that can be unlocked and used, the gameplay footage shown to these guys were just basic stuff.
The techniques were literally straight out of a historical manual.
Anyone who watched this video and us a fan of sword fighting and medieval times. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is perfect for you. The game is criminally under rated and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys the medieval era. You won't be disappointed
Can we have Hema instructors react to mordhau
Mordhau isnt very Historically Accurate for the combat but the reactions would be amusing I think
Can you get some professional bugs to react to hollow knight
Would love to see this one.
Best game I’ve ever played.
This breakdown was really insightful as well.
now KCD2 is officially announced. the HYPE is real.
This video came up on my recommended about a year or so ago and it spurred me to go and buy KCD. It’s definitely worth the purchase. Sure there are a few bugs/glitches, but the story is phenomenal and I find myself coming back to it over and over like how I did with Skyrim over the years.
Reviewers who know their topic, game developers who did their research, a joy to watch! Cheers!
One of my favorite and the last thing I did in Kingdom Come: Deliverance was getting absolutely wrecked and sloshed before a tournament and seeing how long I could last 😂😂
Look! Andrew and Paul's come to see us! Lord be praised
For Honor execution reactions would be cool to watch
I'm curious about that too. Some of the vanilla executions could work very well in a practical environment. But for the most part, newer executions are more about flair than kill confirmation, so they tend to go overboard with it. Whereas most of the earlier Warden executions were clean and efficient, latter ones down the line are more boastful and distracting in a real life situation.
Nice to see critics who point out all the good things
🤣😂🤣He really said!! " You should have thought of that before you became poor"!! Bruhhhh 🤣 wtf!!!
Very nice! Please bring them back for part 2 and show them all the high level parries/ripostes or other techniques. I think they even mentioned halfswording and pommel strikes (which actually are in the game), but havent been shown them at all. :/

hey from germany ,that was really interesting,i think we need more histroical games like kingdom come deliverance or red dead redemption 2 would count even mafia or la noire, games where u can feel the age of time while playing
As you said about the hands and wrists being the target you want to go for, when I was Wrestling in High School the coach always talked about how important wrist control was, saying "As soon as you grip that wrist, he under your control, and can make him do anything."
You know how a games realism is good when irl experts sound more like instructors
Suggestion: How about Hellish Quart I mean it maybe unfinished but the playable parts are very spot on
Kingdom Come is one of the best games ever made. In terms of gameplay, story, combat, world immersion. Its a beautiful work of art

Every time I see this game, I always think, "How long would it take to take over this kingdom as a Lawbringer?"
Like 20 minutes probably. He’s realistically invincible due to his ridiculous strength, size and armor. Not to mention he has one of the best weapons he could use.
All it would take is a ballista bolt or canon ball to end a lawbringer.
Yes they had canons in the 1400s, infact it was thanks to canons that the Ottomans conquered the Byzantine Empire (1452)
Skaianet this kingdom specifically doesn’t seem to have anything of the sort like cannons in the game. In real life, yea I guess that’d be his only weakness.
@@theprovoloneman281 I could be wrong but i think this came takes place in the country side, maybe closer to the capital they had more advanced stuff? I would like to be corrected tho.
Shoulder grab with a single leg sweep is one of the best fighting moves in armor.
In the High Middle Ages, they had distinguishing terms for swords. Shakespeare's characters (late 1500s) don't call for a sword, they call "My longsword, ho!".
Late 1500 is not middle ages
He didn’t live in the Middle Ages
They commented on how you should use the pommel of the sword if your opponent is armored and the game has moves like that but they were not shown
Im so proud to be from the Czech Republic! It's good that thanks to Kingdom Come people will learn a little bit about our culture/history
Greetings from Poland. I love this game, the world look so familiar like I was taking a walk at some plains and forests nearby.

“Should of thought of that before you became poor” is definitely a line ima use
I’d like to see these 2 react to For Honor
When I did the first big battle I thought I’d hear slashes and screams and blood but I only heard one thing: BONKS everyone had helmets and even swords would just make bonk noises it was quite fun
Not only Japanese every country in Asia had Masters. Like I'm from India we had Kalaripayatt, Mardani Khel, Gatka and many more we have many martial arts. Kalari was armed and unarmed all and Mardani Khel and Gatka focused on Swords and Spears

Kingdom come is very underrated. It has its annoying things like Fast travel and getting to fight more than 3ppl but it's a very good game with various things to customize your character and choose what kind of fighter you want to be, music and story is amazing. Also you can solve one quest in various ways keeps everything interesting till the last. It's a long have and want the second one to launch soon coz main story is left on a hiatus. Good game

Only in early game dude, once you have high level equipments and "cheese" combat perk. Trust me you will hope you will get ambushed. And eventually hunt them bandits alone 😏👌
Love this game, my 1st play through i managed to miss picking up a shield, came across a bandit camp while exploring 5 guys cam out but only 1 with a mace and heavy armour approached and absolutely effed me up while the others watched 🤣 very confidence destroying
So glad I got this game and all dlc for $11😂
It’s nice to know the developers took their time and really tried to make it as realistic as possible.
I hate that 2 professionals would say attacking low is stupid after openly saying you wouldn't be able to see that low
Attacking low made no sense as you risked your weapon getting crunched or stuck. Many fights on battlefields happened in muds, hills and thickets, where your weapon could get stuck.
That's literally why it would be stupid
man, people try desperately to sound smarter than someone who does this for a living.
Sorry youre not a HEMA instructor man, sucks to suck i guess.
