With one dollar in 1957, I could purchase 10 to 20 full size candy bars. I recall clearly as that is the amount Grandpa always passed out at each visit. I believe we paid 5 cents for a full size Hershey bar at the neighborhood grocery store. So sorry to hear how ill you have been and so glad you are back!!!

My Grown up Daughter caught whooping cough in her early thirties. Her young Daughter had it really badly at the same time. She was expecting her 2nd baby at the time too. They had both been fully immunised. She said it was the most aweful thing when you felt you couldn't breathe. Get well soon Paula, I love your videos, just like visiting with a good friend. ❤

I made a Battenberg blanket for my daughter ( I made it in 4 ply cotton- 275 squares) then My son wanted one so I had to make another 275 squares. My ones were made in several colours. Oh Paula! So sorry you’re poorly! My cousin had it when she was a baby in the 70’s. My mum says she will never forget it. It was absolutely terrifying. She and my aunt took shifts helping her 😢 So sad that these diseases are back!!! My grandson was in hospital with Measles just a couple of months ago. They think he picked it up a couple of days before he was vaccinated! So scary! Anyway, we had a little holiday in Norfolk at Brundall. Was very brave and drove there in my little electric car with my daughter and Grandson 😅 Norfolk is so beautiful ❤ Lovely to see little Gary. They grow so fast. I still call my children children and they’re in their 30’s 😂 Lovely podcast, thank you x

You don’t hear much about that these days. I remember my mum telling me about my cousin getting it when he was six weeks old (back in 1945). She said it was the most pitiful thing to witness in a tiny newborn. I do hope you get over it quickly. It must be very painful and frightening… and I hope you get your singing voice back too!! Loved seeing all your socks today, and the Battenburg is absolutely gorgeous. As soon as I saw one of your baskets appear today, I jumped on to your Kofi and managed to get one! 🥳 I’ve missed out so often by not being quick enough. I also miss Wilco. Hi Paula, You are not to old to catch Whooping Cough I contacted it 2016 I was 65 at the time I am now 71 and I had it for 3 months and now have issues from having it and I was also vaccinated.I truly feel for you and hope you are well soon. I have enjoyed all your makes they are beautiful.I live in Australia in Queensland on the Sunshine Coast,it is winter here and we are having temperatures in the low to high 20s centigrade sending love to you in your illness ❤️😘💐

Gary’s gorgeous, so adorable. That yawn was wonderful 😘 My sister currently has whooping cough and my friend is on the end of having it but was very poorly with it. Everyone was shocked as we thought whooping cough was illiminated. We trim our dogs fur and have done since lock down, and he much prefers us doing it at home as he’s less stressed. Love your Battenberg blanket, I’m on my second one just doing it in between other projects as it’s relaxing to pick up. Hope you get well soon Paula ❤❤

Gary is just the sweetest wee dog. He looks like a real live teddy bear! I would love to cuddle Gary. So glad you got him Paula. You poor thing, getting whooping cough. You don’t hear much about that these days. I remember my mum telling me about my cousin getting it when he was six weeks old (back in 1945). She said it was the most pitiful thing to witness in a tiny newborn. I do hope you get over it quickly. It must be very painful and frightening… and I hope you get your singing voice back too!! Loved seeing all your socks today, and the Battenburg is absolutely gorgeous. As soon as I saw one of your baskets appear today, I jumped on to your Kofi and managed to get one! 🥳 I’ve missed out so often by not being quick enough. I also miss Wilco. Don’t know why they closed down. It was a great shop. My dog Archie does that same thing when he yawns. He is four years old now and still does it! 😅 I do hope you feel better soon. 😘

Hi Paula, You are not to old to catch Whooping Cough I contacted it 2016 I was 65 at the time I am now 71 and I had it for 3 months and now have issues from having it and I was also vaccinated.I truly feel for you and hope you are well soon. I have enjoyed all your makes they are beautiful.I live in Australia in Queensland on the Sunshine Coast,it is winter here and we are having temperatures in the low to high 20s centigrade sending love to you in your illness ❤️😘💐

Gary’s gorgeous, so adorable. That yawn was wonderful 😘 My sister currently has whooping cough and my friend is on the end of having it but was very poorly with it. Everyone was shocked as we thought whooping cough was illiminated. We trim our dogs fur and have done since lock down, and he much prefers us doing it at home as he’s less stressed. Love your Battenberg blanket, I’m on my second one just doing it in between other projects as it’s relaxing to pick up. Hope you get well soon Paula ❤❤

Hi Paula, another great video thank you. Exactly the same happened to me…two lots of antibiotics for a chest infection only to find out it is whooping cough. I feel your pain, the cough is dreadful and so much worse at night. Take care and hopefully we’ll be on the mend soon. Gary is such a cute little thing x

I was watching you in bed Paula and had to wake my husband up to tell him about how companies don’t seem to do that sending away for things any more. We had a Kelloggs bowl collection when I was growing up, not as exciting as a doll I know. Can’t say husband was very interested if I’m honest 😂 Gary is adorable. Well, Petula Clark was my Dad’s favourite as he had waited on her in the sixties in the hotel he was working as a young man and for years, her record used to be played, scratchy bit and all, alternating with my Mum’s Mongogerry’s “In the summertime”! Gary is so adorable, I wonder how you manage to get anything done! Gorgeous socks and my word, this blanket! I had whooping cough as a child and it left me with a nasty cough to this day unfortunately- I sound like I smoke 50 a day when I start coughing! 😂
