Incredible! My brother has ran into this problem on his Fusion and I’ve been searching for a quick solution since his steering wheel is basically squeezing him at this point. He’ll be happy to be able to drive comfortably again. Thank you very much sir. 💯🙏
THANK YOU!!!!!!!! I just got through dropping a ton at the mechanic’s for other things - and this had been acting up for a couple of years - so much at times I didn’t know if I’d get it to move forward again. But usually it would if I just kept messing with it enough. But not this time - it was all the way back when I got it back and I couldn’t get it to move forward. I’m so thankful you made this video! I didn’t follow all your steps - I didn’t unhook the entire length on mine as it was actually a wire on one end and then a steel rod on the other end. The wire was about 6” in length. I was able to raise the seat up (that function still worked) so that I had some clearance to work. Then I popped out the wire on the console side, and threw the sheath aside. I used that one wire to go back into where I just popped it out of, and then on the door side, I noticed that there was a hole from the outermost side - so I was able to thread the wire through one of the holes on the metal bracket in front, and into the adjuster thing. I did a little bit on one side and then went back to the other side and did the same amount there… in time I got it adjusted! A heck of a lot better than taking it right back in right now. (And no it wasn’t my mechanic - trust me I didn’t think it would work the last few times I’d moved it back, but I got it to eventually by holding my breath and saying another prayer. This time it was just done.) 2008 Ford Fusion SEL
Thanks, Ken! The seat in my 2015 stopped working suddenly after I adjusted it back and down. My daughter left a sports bottle jammed under the seat. The electronics under the seat were crushed and broken.
THANK YOU!!!! mine broke from my kids baseball rolling under the seat (unbeknownst to me) and jamming the works when we tried to move the seat, your video helped alot!
Thank you for this. I couldn’t find one damn video that explained that cable wire which I broke and how the hell to access the bolts to the seats when the seat is all the way back and covering the Tory screws. This really helped me out. Not ready to spend the 100 on the motor replacement but I sure feel confident installing it because of this video
Thanks for this video. Same problem caused by a baseball under seat. Sanpped right side cable right off. I didn't actually pull the cable for the drill though. Just used an S2 square bit and inserted in the hole on each side. Also, the bolts for the seat and the motor hanger are T30 Star.
So big problem when I took the 4 torque screws out that hold the motor bracket in, everything moved in the track and now there is nothing to screw the torque screws back into or use the stick to move the seat. Any suggestions or reasons this happened?
THANK YOU SO MUCH I’m trying to remove the front driver seat on a 2008 (I think) and we can’t move it forward enough to access the rear bolts. I’m really hoping this helps out.
Great video.. For my 2014 yukon Driver seat forward and backward not moving but I can heard the motor it just doesn’t move. Passenger seat the recliner stuck all the way down. And I can hear the motor too.. Any tips.?
What part did you replace to fix that issue? Same thing just happened the other day the left side works but the right side doesn’t move just like it got stuck.

How did you remove the screw which is closest to the transmission tunnel? As in my car the screw head itself is facing it
Thank you so much that was super useful for me to understand the whole set up !
Which is the name for that part to order one for my 2001 intrepid ?
Very helpful Ken. Thank you!
How did you remove the 2 bolts? I can't get to the front screws.
How did you take the bolt off on the right side of the set........
There's just enough room to squeeze into. It was tough...
Does this work for a 2012? Thanks
What part did you replace to fix that issue? Same thing just happened the other day the left side works but the right side doesn’t move just like it got stuck.
Also what size bolts were they to tilt the seat back
Hey Ken, how did you get the bolt off that faces the center console? I was unable to get a ratchet to fit between the center console and seat.
What is the name of this part
Tks for posting, I've same problem only its the 2014 model and I don't see how I can tilt the seat like you did. Hmmmm
Thanks . Gonna try today ..
